the best indicator for awesome songs is the fact that people listen from the beginning to the end without skipping parts. Usually you can find parts that were often repeated through the indicators holding the cursor over the timeline. Sleep token is the first band I've seen with so many views and rarely any parts that stick out by repetition
the sheer talent of this band is outstanding. This album can't even sit in one genre it's so all over the place. an absolute masterpiece. Each and every song.
I think Vore is their best song. It contains in just a few minutes all the characteristics of the band. It's brutal and beautiful, strong and emotional, and catchy in the best possible way. Genius! 🖤
I have to agree. I don't know if it's the song that REPRESENTS them the best, but in terms of getting the core building blocks of Sleep Token and amping them up to 15, Vore is the song.
In my opinion, Take Me Back To Eden is their best song, but the whole album kicks ass. Except DYWTYLM ... try as I might, just can't get into that one.
Now I would say it's a close tie between Take me back to eden (song) All TBTE album is a multiple headed beast!!! And even more generally ST has SO MANY good songs. TBTE is the best album and ST best band of 2023 IMO
Watching them grow has been so, so great. I was beginning to get worried they'd never catch on with a larger audience, and these new releases have laid those doubts to rest, and GOD, I'm so happy. More people needed to fall in love with these wizards.
The sheer amount of times I kept putting people on to them and telling them "hop on the train now these dudes are gonna be huge" this past half decade, I've never lost faith. Worship.

@hiphxwk1974 this could be "their style" but I would like them to bring those screams to the front so we could consume them. Lol but yes no band like them I absolutely love them.
These aren't singles. They are literally going down the tracklist of the album. That's how crazy it is that all five are so good. They ain't cherry picking the songs that will resonate... Mind blown!
One album that I remember loving every single before album release was Architects - Holy Hell. That album is a masterpiece imo. I also loved all the singles off of Currents' previous album
The bridge to this song has genuinely one of the most emotionally painful melodies and atmosphere I've heard in a song. It's beautiful yet also madly depressing.
I've recently gone through a rebirth in my life. I lost everything I knew because I hid from who I was for most of my life. Now I'm rebuilding from the ashes and finally accepted who I am and what I need to make life bearable. This song feels like the past, present and future self. I'm over here sobbing because it connects all the dots. Fuck, I am here to worship now. Thank you Sleep Token for piercing the soul and letting the pain out...
..It just sounds like BVB got a higher pitched screaming, I dont think the reinvented anything..but maybe polished older bands styles that didnt age well.
@GnralexPlus the only band I can think of is black veil brides. And that doesn't make any sense at all. Don't think this song sounds like BVB at all. Also it's kinda lame to say they did or didn't reinvent of something. Cause 1. They have a unique sound for sure. They're fusing elements from a lot of our favorite genres and making it accessible to audiences of other genres. Fusion done successfully. Their style is also very diverse across albums. But reinvention would imply paradigm changes. 2. They are definitely really .. i cant think of any other word than radical right now. They're definitrly pushing boundaries like many other bands sharing the same space as them. As far as metal is concerned. So they are reinventing.. kinda. I think fans should just sit back and enjoy the ride instead of making such value statements. This is what makes bands over and under rated. Being over or underrated is not a judgement on the thing itself but more of the consumer's reaction to the thing. Worship.
My personal favorite off the album. They should go more in this direction with the next album. They can pull off blackened progressive metalcore perfectly.
This band is fucking unreal, the perfect mix of the darker heavier tones, the harsh vocals and the blend of the cleans is phenomenal. The chorus really brings breaking benjamin vibes too. Honestly flawless, its gonna be the album of the year for sure
These guys remind me of a spiritual successor of sorts to Fair To Midland.... Goddamn I miss those guys.... They aren't afraid of taking chances, shooting for the stars and hitting entire galaxies in the process. Simply stunning.
People saying they get deftones vibes and you guys saying you get breaking benjamin vibes just makes me realize how well sleep token captured the mainstream element in metal, but i totally agree on the american alternative metal influence on their music
@Vince Porter that is 100% facts at the very least. However, so far the heavy moments from Sleep Token have blown me away more than even the fully heavy bands have lately. Quality > Quantity I suppose
@@metalshell I get it, I feel like heavy moments hit different when it’s Sleep Token because we are also so used to seeing the polar opposite out of them. They are more impactful because they come across more rarely, and when they do come they do it right.

3:04 … that minor chord progression changes the whole feel of the riff. Beyond all the other awesome stuff going on THAT chord change gets me every time. It’s so unexpected but perfect and totally changes the dynamic.
Easily their darkest song. This is growing on me, especially the screaming parts. Such a powerful, dark energy. Cant wait for the album. It has been a very long time since i fell in love with a band like i did with Sleep Token

I don't know when they decided that the SCP foundation needed soundtracks for each anomaly, but I'm all in for it. These songs they've released have truly been utterly fascinating.
@@brimstonesulfur5013 Is that the article where anomalous road signs direct people to a vore hole in an old abandoned building that you're referring to as being removed?
People who call Sleep Token “radio rock” clearly don’t appreciate the effort the band takes to make unique genre blends that others never attempt successfully. The way Sleep Token pushes the envelope in creativity will make them one of the best bands this year.
Agree overall, but some of the stuff they make is pretty generic to my ear (e.g. Granite) so it depends a lot what people have heard. I've listened through all of the singles, their last album, and bits of the older stuff - when they hit they hit BIG, but there are a lot of skips too. With that said, this song is one of the best things I've heard by them. Absolutely massive chorus and great vibes throughout.
@@notstarboard Ig Granite has some components of more “mainstream” music, but I feel like they did it in a way that isn’t really generic imo. I’ve heard a lot of generic stuff from my friends, but I feel like none of it tops the uniqueness of Sleep Token, even if it sounds more basic. Ig it’s also a great go-between when you have to play something to friends who don’t understand your other music tastes.
@@shmooperpooper9205 They are doing everything right imo. They have that pop-ish song or two that potentially lures people who listen to other genres before gradually hitting them with the Summoning, Vore, or Gods. I love the variety this band brings
Just...HOW...how did I go from never hearing about this band...to now being a total super fan. Seriously...HOW? This track is absolutely ANOTHER banger. Unreal.
That happened to me when I discovered them right before their second album dropped. I heard The Offering and have never looked back, they very quickly ascended to become my favorite band. I can't get enough, every single song they release is solid gold.
Vore is the greatest Sleep Token track to date. It encapsulates all aspects of their songwriting, as cohesively and succinctly as possible. And it's brutal. I will not accept any arguments to the contrary.
After about 200th time of listening to this song I've finally realized that, at the beginning, it isn't just the silence we hear but someone eating - or rather devouring which is much more fiting to Vore. Sleep Token are so detail oriented, absolutely love them and their music! 💛
Even though they sound nothing like Deftones, they are just as diverse. They are the second band to make me IMMEDIATELY OBSESSED. Deftones was the first. 🔥🔥
I’m gonna get roasted for this but maybe I deserve it. I just today like literally in the last 30 minutes began listening to Sleep Token and I’m instantly a fan. Boom done. I’ll be 50 years old in a few months and I tell ya, don’t ever stop letting yourself be amazed in life. As we get older there’s a tendency to be the old man screaming at clouds by whining that things aren’t as good as they used to be. I get it. I’ve said that and many times it’s kinda true. But there are pockets of newness we still get to discover where we are pleasantly surprised by something akin to a breath of fresh air. I knew about these guys for a few years but upon just seeing an image of them in their costumes and hearing a 10 second clip of them during one of their deathcore music moments, I didn’t see or hear the genius everyone was talking about. I was like, ok that’s been done and done. Next. But giving it another chance today im like 10 songs in and woah…I get it now. Sorry im late to the party, I brought the salsa?? Sleep Token is great.

I just found them a few weeks ago myself and I'm now obsessed. About to be 54 and besides ARCHERS and Breaking Benjamin I've never fallen for a band so fast.
The only roast I'm gonna give you is thinkin 50 is old. It's not young but definitely not old, not just yet. You've got at least a decade before you're actually old.
WOW, this song is intense. In more than one way. Some songs that start out that way tend to lose their momentum and energy, but not this one. It somehow still manages to carry that intensity through the breaks in the blast drum heaviness, then effortlessly resumes right where it left off. A lot of raw emotion going into this song as well, that in my opinion, the instrumentation, lyrics, vocal style/delivery and overall flow seem to capture perfectly. There's just something so beautiful and painful about it. Anger, sadness, frustration, maybe some jealousy. I think the fade away suits this song well, but I just wish that ending breakdown didn't fade so quickly. Overall, this song is really showcasing Vessel's vocal ability, but those screams are nuts. I think this is definitely going to be my new favorite song from them.
Ive been listening to this band for a few months now, and i gotta say its my favorite band. And after going through most of their discography, this song is EASILY the heaviest musically, and for that its become one of my favs. The screams, the anger in them, the clean vocals and the beat...God this band is fuckin great
This is probably going to be overshadowed by the Summoning, but honestly, this track is every bit as good. The fucking range Vessel1 has is absolutely insane. The sentiments are so refined, yet somehow so raw. The aggression, the longing, the sadness, all so perfect. The mix on this is so precise; it takes a genius to get these tones to blend without sounding muddy. Even if it doesn't trend on TikTok, Vore is a masterpiece too.
The complexity of the heavy everything in this is mind blowing. From the heavy angry vocals ripping into the heavy guitar riffs and those never ending heavy drum work is perfection. I dont usually like a bunch of screaming in songs, but you guys, and this song it fits. I love this . First time ST listener, and now imma fan. keep up the excellent heavy rage!!
Rare a band can be so utterly punch you in the face brutal one second, then vulnerable and surprisingly thoughtful the next and yet have it work seamlessly. ST play close attention to balance and contrast, both lyrically and musically which allows everything a chance to breathe and be more impactful. Their transitions and resolutions, on this song and all I've heard from Sleep Token are on another level. Attention to detail is always very impressive. Great time to be alive and a fan!
@@MrEcarlson462 yes I agree and you're absolutely correct. Deftones, Tool, Meshuggah, Opeth (you could go on and on) have done it before. Remarkably, what ST have seemingly done is elevated it to altogether another level. But agreed they're not really pioneers. Maybe I'm giving them too much credit, who knows? But to this dudes ears, ST are just doing the little things and attention to details that makes them sound slightly different. In that sense, they actually remind me more of the band Ghost, and how they both approach songs/music. And to be honest bro, I look forward to all the beforementioned bands new music as well!

I mean ye, I was on pretty low point of my life when I heard it, helped a lot. Not to mention... akhem... that it resonates with me on several levels, lets put it this way.
I found this song recommended in a discord server and I thought "no way someone actually called a song like that" and laughed for a few seconds, then I heard it and it immediately became my favorite metal song and now I can't stop listening to Sleep Token.
@@bjp4869I also found the same song recommended on discord server, but in my case, it's a spiritual dicord server 😂😂 not sure if that could be considered as cool
I thought the same thing except I found this song when a friend streamed herself playing a guitar game and I loved the energy, but yea goofy name but amazing song
I know there’s a lot going on in the song that could be talked about, but part of what gets me the most is “I wanna go where nobody else will ever go”. This line among many deeply puts me into this longing for more, for matters beyond life and death. “Show me that which I cannot see”, “Take me past the edge, I want to see the other side” and it goes on. Makes me imagine getting swallowed into a black hole and diving in to discover hidden corners of the universe. Same with The Summoning’s bridge, makes me feel like I’m floating around space. And Chokehold is like the beginning of it all, going back to the roots, to when we we were made. Beyond the depths of the seas and the heights of the skies. I don’t know, this music just really makes me dream about these questions and it’s part of why I’m so invested. The way it can be this intricately constructed while sounding eerily and holy has me on an insurmountable trance.
This is probably one of the most complicated but still sterling song I've ever heard. Audio\visual correlation, symbolism and entire flow is the quintessence of the... art? This is really one of those things called a "masterpiece" I guess. Everything has a meaning here and everything is bound. The disgust mixed with a desire and humility, the horror is fullfiled by acceptance. The dissonance in the crooked slow dance you performed here caught me like "oh, it doesn't sound like it could have... WAIT, THEY REALLY DID THIS TO UNDERLINE ALL THIS ACTION?!" Every tone, every line, every breath here is the way more eligible thing than you can imagine yourself. If every thing on the earth was made with the same pedantry, our entire being could be completely different. You made me really FEEL the art. Your work with this one is brilliant.
How is every single song of theirs just so good? This year has been no different, exceptional even, they’re really pushing the limits of what they can do. Worship!
My favorite out of all the singles they have released. The screams to the melodic vocals are amazing. I can't stop listening to this! Also the drumming is phenomenal!
I don't even know what to say. Thank you Sleep Token. I am grateful to be alive in a time where I can hear such amazing, celestial art. I am 43 years old and haven't been so obsessed with a band since the grunge Era. This music is magic. It gives me chills, it makes me smile, it's makes me sob, it helps me sleep, it wakes me up in the morning. This song is incredible! This drummer is right up there with Danny Carrey from Tool. WORSHIP!
@shispero I wasn't talking about the drawings, I was talking about the music, and it's out if this world. Does that makes sense? Sorry for sounding "weird"
How is this even possible? My mind keeps getting blown again and again Sleep Token is transcendent Sleep Token is Boundless Sleep Token is Supreme I am in complete awe
Going down the tunnel of spiritual awakening is like going through a check valve. It's a one way trip to the deepest parts of yourself. There's no going back. Amazing to see Vessel overcoming another of his inner demons. This band is truly special.
Their music is like an alchemy, unlocking the unknown parts of self, truly transforming. There must be something metaphysical in this world that it's possible to affect human experience so deeply, just with the sound waves.

You have become the voice in my head
Only recourse we're left after death
Your viscera welcome me in
Welcome me in
My life is torn, my bones, they bleed
My metaphors fall short in the end
Your flesh and bone welcome me in
Welcome me in
Are you in pain like I am?
Will we remain stuck in the throat of gods?
Will the pain stop if we go deeper?
So let's get swallowed whole
I wanna go where nobody else will
Ever go
Walls of flesh, so warm again
We step into my suffering
My only need, welcome me in
Welcome me in
There is always something in the way
I wanna have you to myself for once
Follow me between the jaws of fate
So I can have you to myself for once
So let's get swallowed whole
I wanna go where nobody else will
Ever go
There is always something in the way
I wanna have you to myself for once
Are you in pain like I am?
Are you in pain like I am?
Are you in pain like I am?
Are you in pain like I am?

yes from the first second I realized it is something up this alley
These vocals are way better than on gods imo.
Do you think Vore is better than Gods?
The first clean part is pure art, especially after that destorted intro. Those vocals come from straight from another galaxy
Gutteral vocals seem silly to me, but the music is good.
@@dr.emilschaffhausen4683 I get that, in the same way alcohol seems silly as a child. It will grow on you and open new avenues of music you never would have been open to before.

@Jordan Maul they didnt compare sleep token to anything, your reading comprehension is dogshit bud.

Also, I'm not comparing sleep token as a band with alcohol, I am comparing harsh vocals with alcohol, but you could sub in coffee, tomato, etc., there are many things in your life you have to "work" at to truly enjoy. Which is a turn of phrase more than anything, as you don't actually "work" at it as much as your taste evolves as you mature and change.
Wow.
How is it so soft yet so heavy at the same time... and Vessel's voice so strong yet so fragile... this band transfixes me. I've never heard music like this.

the best indicator for awesome songs is the fact that people listen from the beginning to the end without skipping parts. the sheer talent of this band is outstanding.

The Summoning, Granite, Alkaline, Take me Back to Eden.... they are all so good.
In my opinion, Take Me Back To Eden is their best song, but the whole album kicks ass. Except DYWTYLM ... try as I might, just can't get into that one.

Agreed. I love how it's just "...for once", not even possessive, just wanting to be seen...for once.
I've recently gone through a rebirth in my life. I lost everything I knew because I hid from who I was for most of my life. These dudes have one of the best reinventions of any metal band and I'm here for it
You should do a cover
..It just sounds like BVB got a higher pitched screaming, I dont think the reinvented anything..but maybe polished older bands styles that didnt age well.
@@Thefutra2000 bvb?
@GnralexPlus the only band I can think of is black veil brides. And that doesn't make any sense at all. Don't think this song sounds like BVB at all.
Also it's kinda lame to say they did or didn't reinvent of something. Cause

Vessels voice just takes me back home to a past life, they're easily my all time favorite and they keep bringing more to each song they put out!!

Rare a band can be so utterly punch you in the face brutal one second, then vulnerable and surprisingly thoughtful the next and yet have it work seamlessly. The way it can be this intricately constructed while sounding eerily and holy has me on an insurmountable trance.
im so happy you came out about your vore fetish
This is probably one of the most complicated but still sterling song I've ever heard.
Audio\visual correlation, symbolism and entire flow is the quintessence of the... art?
This is really one of those things called a "masterpiece" I guess.
Everything has a meaning here and everything is bound. The disgust mixed with a desire and humility, the horror is fullfiled by acceptance.
The dissonance in the crooked slow dance you performed here caught me like "oh, it doesn't sound like it could have... WAIT, THEY REALLY DID THIS TO UNDERLINE ALL THIS ACTION?!"
Every tone, every line, every breath here is the way more eligible thing than you can imagine yourself.
WORSHIP!
A me ricordano molto i Tool!
Well said!!
Well spoken! I'm 62 and I'm obsessing just as hard as you!
You call this celestial art ? weird. Objectively this illustration is clearly a demon. who knows, maybe is SLEEP the demon Vessel worships
@shispero I wasn't talking about the drawings, I was talking about the music, and it's out if this world. Does that makes sense? Sorry for sounding "weird"
I feel so utterly alone in this world, I don’t connect with anybody. Music like this gives me solace.
You're not alone Matt. We as fans are a family 🙏🏽
i feel you
Same here my friend
You're not alone. Music like this lets us know that.
Us metal fans stick together
I know Vessel said he and the band didn't save us, but I'm still thankful for the strength this band has given us to save ourselves. Worship 🙏
The project has shifted to us protecting them at all costs. Worship ❤️
If someone is interested in the blackgaze elements of this song, I would like to recommend Alcest, a French band. They have an amazing discography.
Band called Numenorean came to my mind listening to this song
Alcest are incredible too, I'm in awe of Neige
Now that I have seen them live, this song hits different. This was my favorite song of the night.
This song ticks every box I would want in a song. Crazy how good they are.
How is this even possible?
My mind keeps getting blown again and again
Sleep Token is transcendent
Sleep Token is Boundless
Sleep Token is Supreme
I am in complete awe
the swallowing and mouth sounds in the beginning is a goated detail
Going down the tunnel of spiritual awakening is like going through a check valve. It's a one way trip to the deepest parts of yourself. There's no going back. Amazing to see Vessel overcoming another of his inner demons. This band is truly special.
That's a really good analogy
@@joesizlack It really is.
Christ is the only true spiritual, no spiritual awakening will bring you the peace and joy that Jesus does
@@mrwhale7351 Whatever you say, chief.
Their music is like an alchemy, unlocking the unknown parts of self, truly transforming. There must be something metaphysical in this world that it's possible to affect human experience so deeply, just with the sound waves.
