+Reeveelution Well you could buy a Disk that bypasses Region lock on the GameCube and yes Nintendo did make the Disk but it cost like about $100-$200, but once you get that you can play the entire GameCube library for cheap manly because Japanese games cost less than US games.

No need to mention Australia separately when it comes to game versions. Game companies don't give a damn about us, so they just give us the European version with a different cover. Which means yes, our games a released late so they can add in French, German and other languages that no one in Australia speaks. Good explanation about the differences between Japanese and English vowels too, as an English teacher in Japan, this resonates with me.
Well, the only one he didn't mention is the Korean version, which DOES include Navi Trackers. However, the fact that the Korean trailer shows Japanese text in the game footage (trailer-exclusive text is in Korean) makes it look like they got lazy (it was released much later than the other translations, so there's really no excuse).
Those are a special case. For us Aussies, we normally get thrown the European version. Sometimes they get really lazy and not even bother printing up a new cover, they just slap a Australian rating sticker overtop of the European one.
Y'know it's a shame that the GBA to GC games never had a Wii U version, even though I don't have a Wii U I'd still love to see this and Pac-man VS. have a modern port.
It would be cool if they put Four Swords Adventures in the WiiU version. Stay with me on this. You can have four people play on their 3ds and not only that. Make Tetra Trackers Available as a 30th Anniversary Bundle. Just a thought

Ah, I used to love this game…My older brother gave our copy to a friend, and to this day I still miss it lmao…Using that flame rod and burning entire fields for force gems hit different
4:30 I watched this video years ago and I just wanna say this little tidbit has stuck with me and it really helped me learn how to pronounce Japanese later on.
See, what makes me question the speech synthesis cancellation theory for Tetra's Trackers is this: Why not just have her say "Player 1/2/3/4" and scrap the custom names altogether? Seems better than just totally forgetting about an entire side game.
I wish that the “10th anniversary” edition of the original Four Swords was available for download. It had a single player option. But it was only available for a limited time and it has never come up again.
I was really hoping for Nintendo to remake this game on the Wii U with the 3DS's being similar like the game boys and the gamepad to be used like a 3DS as well, or for single player. And to add Navi's trackers as well. I would buy that game in a heartbeat. I mean it'd be easy and beautiful to see this game a full HD.
I actually did play multiplayer on this game. It seems like so few people actually have. Probably because no one's willing to gather multiple gameboy/GameCube adapters or even multiple gameboys. But my brother in law is awesome and gathered four connectors and two gameboys. Then, with my two gameboys we were able to play with his wife and my younger sister and it's always so much fun.
This video reminded me of some thing. This one time, I was watching a bunch of RedFalconGames's videos and I decided to take a break and watch PurpleRodri, and the video just so happened to have RedFalconGames as a guest. I love the Internet.
Navi's/Tetra's Trackers needs to come back to this generation, I don't see necessary voice acting, just with Tetra making sounds like "yay", "oh", "hey", "hmm", etc. and text bubbles saying what she means with the sounds. I was going to say it would be nice to have it in the Wii U, but due to the Wii U unable to support more than one Gamepad at the time (or at least Nintendo hasn't tried it yet), I prefer it at the Nintendo 3DS. See it this way: playing locally would make you talk to your friends to make strategies and with online gameplay it would be nice to have voice chat, it's just my opinion.
I feel so sad that you didn't get to play for your friends. This gave me such nostaliga for playing this game with all of my friends back in the day. Now we almost never play video games together and usually end up playing our own favorite genres or single player games. Maybe I can get everyone to bust out the gamecube for old times sake.
Hey. Something you missed: In the beta videos, the color of the rupee beside the rupee counter indicates which Link each hud is for. Just wanted ta letcha know! Great video by the way!
Never played 4 swords adventures on the GameCube but have played the GBA four swords, and in the GBA version you could get Rupee Fever which multiplies the amount of Rupees by 2 and could get a Rupee worth 1 in random chests, the "You got 2 Force Gems" text at 13:18 could've been something equivalent to Rupee Fever that was removed?
ShanonGallaFoe Espe-shally?? Is that second E silent? And I can only assume you mean 'shally' to rhyme with 'Sally', tho I'm not understanding why you would pronounce it that way...
I just realized that the unused French string about the allies turning into a sword could most likely reference how in Four Swords, the other 3 Links were made when Link pulled out the Four Sword (atleast, as far as I remember). So maybe it was planned for you to just be able to turn your allies back into the Four Sword?
Wow, that was awesome! An unusual pick for BETA review, which was sweet! Everything mentioned in the video was so interesting! You should do Ocarina of Time next! :D
I loved Four Swords Adventure growing up! It was basically my introduction to the zelda franchise in my early teens. Between me and my siblings (Who where all born relatively close in age) there were 4 of us, and when you have 4 sibs, it's not that hard to each save up some chore money to each buy a GBA-NGC Cable, and being kids we all basically had our own GBA's/SP's or various hand-me-down versions, so it wasn't as painful to play because we always had each other! I legitimately feel bad when meeting another zelda fan and having the wonderful "Which is the best Zelda game?" talk and usually they either haven't played four swords or did, but didn't enjoy playing it alone. It's sometimes sad when you say "I can see why you didn't enjoy it, but I still think it's the best because4 of the experience with my sibs it gave me. I also enjoyed Final FAntasy Crystal Chronicals the same way.
My dad found this at a local Disk Replay branch when I finally got a GCN controller and memory card for my family's Wii. I had never heard of it before.
The E in 'hey' is pronounced the same as the E in 'let'; It's the EY digraph that makes that, well, "ey sound". Also, the E in 'new' isn't what makes that "oo sound"; It's the W (which is also "sometimes a vowel" - Y and W are both semi-vowels). The E is just silent in American English. However, the E is pronounced in other English dialects, and thus 'new' rhymes with 'ew', 'few', et certera.
four swords adventures is one of my favorite zelda games i hope we become a four swords game for wii u in 3D Deminsional! thats one of my hopes that a 3D four sword game come out
I think the sprite with the red shield may have been for a shield upgrade that never made it into the game. Remember how the level 2 shield in ALttP was red, so I think the same thing is what we see here, albeit maybe with a misplaced pixel or two. I also think that maybe the "turn ally back into a sword" is an unedited translation/bad translation of text that should say "return you ally to the sword". Since when you draw the four sword you split, I would think maybe the original intention would be for the sword to allow the use to split, rather than force the user to split.
Maybe if they did include Navi's Trackers in the other versions, they could refer to the Links as Green, Blue, Red, and Purple (or Vio), similar to how they do in the Four Swords manga.
the shield item probably would've worked like how it did in the original Four Swords where you start every level with it and you can block almost anything when using it
There should be a Four Swords game for the Wii U that uses the same system that Kirby and the Amazing Mirror used, where you control one Link and the other 3 go out into the world and can even end up fighting or even beating bosses and you can use the Triforce or some other item to summon the other 3 Links to your location so they can help you.
I think you may have gotten the beta of the original Four Swords mixed up with the beta of adventures at some points, I remember seeing a GBA magazine long ago showing pictures of what looked like the original ALTTP but with four players for the article about Four Swords GBA, and that was before adventures was even being made.
I’m pretty sure that Navi’s trackers was removed because of file size, I don’t think they used a voice bot or whatever, I’m pretty sure they pre recorded it all, but they had to make like a ton of voice files, they had ones for mr or ms plus every letter, that’s like 48 files for one thing, and imagine how much voice files would be used in it!
You offhandedly mention Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, but the truth is, there's a LOT of beta content around that game, I believe. Or at least its sequel. Might be worth checking out at some point.
An unused text that says "Your Grave"...
...That's actualy pretty damn dark.
im pretty sure it was used for when someone died they would respawn and their death would be marked with a grave

+Reeveelution Well you could buy a Disk that bypasses Region lock on the GameCube and yes Nintendo did make the Disk but it cost like about $100-$200, but once you get that you can play the entire GameCube library for cheap manly because Japanese games cost less than US games.

The "T shield" looks like the second shield from ALttP if memory serves me correctly.
However, the E is pronounced in other English dialects, and thus 'new' rhymes with 'ew', 'few', et certera.
four swords adventures is one of my favorite zelda games i hope we become a four swords game for wii u in 3D Deminsional! thats one of my hopes that a 3D four sword game come out
I miss your old intro. It was cute.
Cool video :)
I actually used to play the Tetra's tracker game with some friends back in the day. It was loads of chaotic fun ^^
There is something so surreal about these navi's trackers cutscenes, is like watching a sfm made by nintendo
The description, I was about to think you made a reference to Game Theorists xD
........"BOING!"
Love the description. 'A theory on a game... A GAME THEORY. THANKS FOR WATCHING.
I think you may have gotten the beta of the original Four Swords mixed up with the beta of adventures at some points, I remember seeing a GBA magazine long ago showing pictures of what looked like the original ALTTP but with four players for the article about Four Swords GBA, and that was before adventures was even being made.
Whenever you day, "so that's the beta of (game)" I get sad because there's no more to discuss about the game. I love your videos.
I kept hearing "Tetris Trackers" at first...
Who's that Pokemon on your profile pic?
I liked that you used the dark world theme song from a link to the past
What if the "Your Grave" text was originally going to be added as a reference to that Final Fantasy game where you can find Link's grave...
this game was my CHILDHOOD man
I’m pretty sure that Navi’s trackers was removed because of file size, I don’t think they used a voice bot or whatever, I’m pretty sure they pre recorded it all, but they had to make like a ton of voice files, they had ones for mr or ms plus every letter, that’s like 48 files for one thing, and imagine how much voice files would be used in it!
You offhandedly mention Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, but the truth is, there's a LOT of beta content around that game, I believe. Or at least its sequel. Might be worth checking out at some point.
Red BG on test link’s shield, on that same shield was a big T... were they trying to warn us?
the hair on the links in the e3 trailer are different to the pink hair in a link to the past. so that test sprite wasnt for the e3 placeholder.
About time for a real video!
