That is for base model. Try to spec up that RS4 and see where you will end. And Porsche holds its value much better!
Not sure which models you're looking at (i.e. baseline or with extras) and what currency, but in Aus the base 911 GTS starts at $310,000, and the base RS4 starts at $154k. The Porsche is literally double the price, and barely even beat the Audi. Unless money is no object, and your primary goal is aesthetics/status, then you'd have to be insane to go for the Porsche.

There was no camera during the test, it's just editing with sliced in footage.
Hector Casal that part of the video was taken after the race. That might explain why that was.
I really appreciate this channel for getting straight to the point in their videos. There's never any fillers or need for it making this a 15 minute video like most TH-camrs would
Its not about which car you would choose over the other. Most people don't choose between a 2 door coupe or an estate car, if you need an estate you won't buy a 2 door coupe.
Most people (or those with wife and kids at least) who have a 911 will also have a practical family car.
In terms of the actual drag race, why didn't they use the 4wd GTS? That would have been interesting to see.

In a way yes, but Porsches have VAG parts on them as well. And don;t forget; if VW had not bought Porsche they would have gone broke.
I remember when Porsche was trying to buy VW and then suddenly it was turned around. It was the chairman of Porsche and his money guy who had initiated that potential buyout. There were other aspects to this deal but it wasn't as simple as VW coming to the rescue of Porsche. At least Porsche was able to continue on with maintaining its reputation as a leader of sports car manufacturing.

The drag race was by far going to be the most interesting part before even starting the vid, and it didn’t disappoint. That RS4 is a bad ass machine.

Audi is definitely not the most practical car. Fiat multipla is more practical because it will have 300% less electric issues. And its not aggressive at all. Compare it to bmw. Bmw is much more aggressive. And its not really sporty.

The RS4 doesn't fit the bill as a sleeper in any way. I mean, look at the trim/styling of the thing. It screams "I might be an estate, but I am no doubt built for speed".
@Luffy D: Only if it's a user modified station wagon that looks like a dull family estate. If this was a base model A4 with an RS4 engine/performance I would agree, but the RS4 rolled out of the factory made to look the part.

Focus RS can achieve 0-62 in 4.8 seconds 0.7 seconds slower than the RS4 with 100hp less. And it costs a lot less also. That would be a lot less money to maintain too. The better daily driver.

Love your videos Matt👍. Just noted an error. On the rolling start you were in D & Comfort, not S & Dynamic. Hence the 911 left you for dead. First race & third race are as expected. Very similar results.

Luka Yonny If you’re a serious driver and like to have fun it’s the Porsche all the way, you got rear wheel drive, a very light car 1500kg, a very nice chassis, an amazing gearbox and a top notch engine. All thought out so extremely well. I’m talking better as in better to drive.

Well, not really, RS Audis depreciate like crazy , while Porsches hold value quite well
They’re both for different purposes. The 911 gts is a track oriented car not necessarily a straight line performance car. Although it seems sort of close in this comparison the 911 would monster the Audi on any twisty road
What I always think is Interesting is that they always mention torque figures when it comes to the straight-line acceleration during the rolling test, however they never account for the amount of gears or the gear ratios themselves they just mention the numbers
You know, that the Porsche PDK is a dual clutch gearbox, which is by definition not a Automatic gearbox. It's a Semi-Automatic gearbox. The Audi RS4 has an 8 speed Automatic gearbox. Also the Audi has NO launch control. The only thing you can do to start quicker is to hold the brake and then put your foot on the throttle to pump oil through the torque converter. This generates pressure and as soon as you release the brake, you get off instantly. In the Porsche with the dual clutch gearbox, there is a launch control. In this program the ECU of the gearbox closes the clutch of the first gear as quick as possible. But this always takes some time (suchas in a car with a manual gearbox) to to engage the clutch. That's the reason, why the heavier RS4 is faster at the start. At high speeds the Porsche comes back, because of its lighter weight, better aerodynamic shape and the faster shifting dual clutch gearbox.

I have the SQ7 and the gearbox even in sport mode is not great. On paddles though it's a lot better so your issues in the RS4 on the rolling race didn't surprise me.

The GTS is basically a S with the wider body, little bit more power and very nicely speced. So, if you are considering a fully loaded S, the GTS is a better deal.

Youre blinkered.... Put a Cayenne or a Macan against the RS4. I saw a family car with a boot holding its own against one of Porsche's better models. I think it shows how good that RS4 is.

the Audi slightly jumpstarted which gives quite an advantage considering that it is AWD, the Porsche still faster but they have different purposes really...
So Matt legit kept the car in Comfort and Drive instead of Dynamic and Sport after having said that they’re in their sportiest setting? Big oversight on his part, that. Porsche was always going to win, but he could’ve at least given that Audi a fighting chance. Great video as usual otherwise

Did he just say that it's annoying that when you brake hard the hazards come on?..... Ye why would you wanna alert someone behind you in case you have to brake hard while cruising at speeds? Much better if they plough into the back of you because they don't notice you're braking really hard. You're even driven on the autobahn where this kind of system is very useful, maybe it's not needed for the terrible British roads but for long stretches of higher speed cruising on a good highway system I can tell you as I've been that car behind a few times it's extremely useful.
The fact that RS4 is an estate car makes it impressive. You can bring your family or friends and also you can carry a lot of things in the back plus you can also use it for winter.

Thanks very much for the video, I have been wanting to see that comparison for a long time. Can you please do 2019 Porsche 911 GTS vs 2019 Mercedes C63 S AMG Coupe, I would be very curious to see that outcome as I suspect Porsche would get the early jump having more traction being rear engined but think the C63 S might catch it and possibly win the rolling race having more power and torque.
I own both cars, Porsche faster due to better grip and balance and 200mph, b8th fantastic cars though.
