    In my opinion, people should not be allowed anywhere near the horses or guards, much less allow them to touch and antagonize them. The King's guards are there to do a very important job, not to entertain inconsiderate, self centered tourists.

Absolutely disgusting how these tourist act like it’s all a comedy show. Laughing provoking the horse to bite them. No wonder the horse gets spooked with all that insanity going on right in front of him.

    I have found watching different videos. Put out by different bloggers. The Asians I find very pushy and very impatient. I saw a couple videos yesterday. Somebody was standing with their friend. It looked like 2 young sisters beside a guard in the tunnel. An Asian woman came right up in front of them and pushed her way in and just like this Asian lady in the yellow shirt. Sometimes I'm sorry. But they are extremely route, just like there's a group of a certain sect that like to bother and annoy the guards in the yard, the gatesman and the chitsman

    • @BritGirl-fg9gj
      @BritGirl-fg9gj 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I've watched these for a couple years and you're spot on. Asians are hands down the pushiest and rudest of all the tourons. They have no sense of awareness of others standing for a photo and they are silly on top of it. Always running up to the horse, waving and flapping their hands and acting afraid and if the horse looks their way they run away screaming. They are always so LOUD and all chatter at once. One commenter said the Japanese visitors are the exception.

    After watching many of these videos I believe the crowds are getting out of hand. They will do anything to get that one shot with the horse and guard. They completely ignore how the horse feels or reacts and don't care. They have no idea how the guards keep the horses from really hurting someone. Yes the horses are trained to be around a lot of people, but in my opinion this is horse abuse.

    These horses would be no less "en garde" if they were given an hour of exercise before going on duty. Ridden or ground worked at the walk, trot, canter. Back up, stand still, repeat. First one way, then the other. Give them an opportunity to let off steam.

    • @Bandomeme
      @Bandomeme 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Bandomeme you're right! They should be with that schedule. But something's missing, and I suspect that they are encouraged to be as restless as they want to be, displaying their willingness to guard and defend. It just doesn't compute when they bite a child.

      @@gaylegordon2038 I agree. I’ve seen videos where the guard was easily able to pull the reins to stop a horse from swinging its head to bite an unwary tourist in a wheelchair or a child. They’re probably trying to make a point when they schedule a known biter like Ormonde for duty.

      @@Bandomeme yes, again. I've ridden enough to see that these riders may be instructed to never correct the horse's bad behaviors. After all, the sign says "Horses may kick or bite." My heart goes out to the horses that are bored and fidgety and, inevitably, learning bad behaviors that make them unsuitable for private ownership in their futures by just regular horse people.

    Leave them alone ! Instead of the BEWARE notice. Yes do of course mention that horses may kick or bite. Then write, Do not touch the horses or the reins . Thank you.
    This would stop so much of this constant mauling & the troopers would not have to spend so much of their time maneuvering the reins . Tourists please realize the BIT in the horses mouth has to be moved to stop you getting bitten. LEAVE THE HORSES ALONE. !! These are NOT PETS.🤬

    • @westsideglory8849
      @westsideglory8849 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@BandomemeI'm not sure if a non-US would be allowed to hold a UK flag next to a US military icon. I think it would solely depend on how it was done. Tourists generally speaking have a tendency to be disrespectful here. Not much respect or knowledge to the rich traditions here at HorseGuards. Most think the guards and horses are here solely for their amusement and entertainment. I read some of the comments before commenting myself. I was aware that some took offense to the flag. So I watched a couple of times. The young man stood back. Had the flag folded up. Patiently waited his turn. Didn't make a big show out of the fact that he was waiting with the flag. When it was his turn he quickly walked up, displayed the flag, had his picture taken and just as quickly stepped away. No showing off, no arrogance. It was something important to him. He wasn't pushing a political agenda. He wasn't parading around with the flag. I found no offense. If the young man would have displayed the flag parading around back and forth in front of the guard and making a show out of it and not leaving, then yes, he would have been out of line. But I saw nothing here that I would find offensive. But we all see things differently based on our personal experiences.

    I disagree about the “important job” the guard and the horse are executing. If the job is so important, keep the tourists away. A horse is an animal that is designed to move, also a animal that instinctively flights when spooked. So the horse has to stand still for a longer period of time and endure a lot of unnecessary touches etc. This is abuse of a horse. So the boxes where the guard and horse stand, are changed into a booth where you can buy a postcard of your fav guard and horse combo. You want a real picture? Sure! You can buy a ticket for 5 pounds and go to a special box, that is strictly guarded by policemen. Bring the whole family? That is 6 times 5 pounds, thank you. Touching the reigns? You will be escorted out. No refunds. And gates are kept closed.
