it reminds me of Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the 90s, when you used to buy ride tickets for each ride, so you could just enter the park and walk around for free, play the games, go on whatever rides you wanted. it looks like a proper old-school amusement park (with modern rides and attractions), a bit of everything for everyone
I remember when the pirate ship was still around it was just a massive arcade and you could go on the ride and when you are done just play some arcade games
I have been going to OCNJ since i was a kid. This place is really just for the locals who come there year after year and their primary interest isnt everyone. Like you said during the video, it’s more of something fun to do while you’re at the shore
I highly recommend this place. I am commenting this a couple hours before i go. Me and my family have been to this place so many times and there are rides for ALL ages. The toddlers would love the carousel and the ferris wheel. teens and older have the “Hurricane”, “Gale Force”, “Squadron 33”, and so much more!
I’ve been visiting this park since I was about three years old and I’ve seen it grow and change so much in that time. 100% recommend it. My personal favorite ride in this park is Double Shot.
Local NJ resident here They used to have a day in the year like wristband Thursday or Tuesday It was what you said bassicly 25$ for a full day pass Was amazing, I’ve been watching your channel for years! Was always hoping we would meet at a park one day lol Fellow coaster enthusiast so ya glad you made a stop near me!
Grew up coming here, some of my first rides I ever did were here💙 can’t even tell you how many thousands of fond memories I have here from childhood :)
I was just there yesterday - Squadron 33 is the BEST ride. My favorite flat ride EVER! At one point I was upside down and being pulled up by the knees. Weirdest / best ride experience ever.
Yes this video was very cool because I go here every year [summer] and now you have made me want to go on all of these awesome rides in two weeks! So I subbed enjoy the rest of your summer!
I remember coming here several years ago when Gale Force was under construction, I was a GP at the time and thought it was crazy that this boardwalk park built such a big coaster in such a small land plot.
Hey, great vid. I always imagined that going to this place would be like a trip to Wonder Wharf from Bob's Burgers without that darn Jimmy Pesto walking around and making calls and breaking balls 😀😀😀
Playland's Castaway Cove is one of my favorite parks at Ocean City, been going there since I was little when my parents and I would go on vacation once a year. Galeforce is pretty intense!!! I have yet to ride Wild Waves and the other coaster right next to it. I definitely have to agree with you on the food that Manco & Manco is the BEST!!! I also wish they would do a wristband instead of tickets.
Y’all flew out of Philly to Europe after visiting Sarah’s fam I reckon. Very familiar with Ocean City. Yeah, you are ride/park based, but for the comments here crying about Wildwood being better for rides, people unfamiliar with the two should know how great and much more well rounded and family oriented ocean city is compared to wildwood. It’s easy to vacation at one and travel to the other and enjoy both!
Just like they mention, they have 50% off sales at least twice a year - usually around Christmas/new year's and Easter. LOVE coming here a couple times a year with my family. My little one loves Gold Rush. Hopefully in a couple years I'll get her on Gale Force with me =)
I'm not sure if you guys are already gone from this general area, but when you go back down, I recommend stopping in Ocean City, Maryland, and Rehoboth, Delaware. Ocean City MD has the original Wildcat from Cedar Point, and Rehoboth has a park called Funland, with a one of a kind haunted mansion ride. Haunted mansion is an inverted one, so it has quite the spook, as it rocks you along with the twists and turns. Both are great small parks, Sadly Funland does not have a rollercoaster though. Hope you stop on by and have fun!
Trimpers has a historic haunted house and very old carousel too in OC MD. Been a lot of changes there recently but park has gotten more updated when new side of family took over.
It's crazy seeing a video on this place considering I work here Gale force is definitely the most popular ride and we actually do wrist band days a lot during the summer just gotta keep an eye out for those days
ive been going sense I was born and my dads been going sense he was a kid I've gone 11 times and we stay for one week. I'm now 12 and we are going July 6th I'm so excited this is my fav place on earth its so amazing I 100% do recommend it!
Dam you! Now I want Manco & Manco pizza... and a Kohrs frozen custard cone... and Johnson's caramel popcorn, oh wait, I still have some of that, never mind lol
Besides how expensive rides can get, another thing to watch out for is parking. All the convenient lots near the boardwalk will jack up the price during peak season, it'll be just like paying to park at Six Flags or Cedar Fair in the $25 range. Much better to look for street parking a few blocks away and pay only half as much. Also as others have mentioned, while Gillian's may be viewed as mostly a kids park and overlooked due to their lack of adult coasters, they do have an awesome multi-level log flume, so that's worth a walk down the boardwalk to check out as well!
I always just park on west and walk. It’s not the shortest walk, but it’s easier to find a spot, you don’t have to deal with the traffic chaos as much, and much cheaper parking.
I just went to playland's castaway cove yesterday. Galeforce is an amazing ride! The ride operations were a little slow in my opinion. I for sure agree tickets are expensive, and though I bought a mega book that only lasted me 2 hours 😂
Does the not having an annual pass and you pay for each ride no matter what keep lines down? If it does and you aren't waiting multiple hours for a coaster, I think it is a good thing.
I'm actually from the Jersey shore and now live about 2 hours away in Pennsylvania. I'd go to OC to check out the new roller coaster but the pricing is absurd and not enough good rides to be worth my time. Wildwood is 100% where I am always going to spend my time at the Jersey shore! Thanks for the review though 💜💜
I love this place I go every year with my family so I may be a bit biased but I really like it I am also not a huge fan of intense coasters like gale force but they have many other good rides and they do a good job at offering a ride for everyone they also have a lot of variety between rides so only four of the 30 rides are coasters and then the rest of them at other types of rides yes the tickets are expensive but if you ride smart and conserve your tickets then you can easily go for two - three hours and enjoy lots of rides they also offer kiddie variations of some of the main rides which is helpful for young children to not feel left out when others are riding more intense rides like gale force, the swings, or the double shot.
I’d love to see more seaside amusement parks come to The Wildwoods, Ocean City NJ, Atlantic City NJ, Seaside Heights, Point Pleasant Beach, and even Ocean City, Maryland! Asbury Park and Long Branch both in New Jersey deserve some boardwalk amusements like some seaside amusement parks!
I never knew how scary it is to actually be at some of the rides in Castaway Cove until I actually went and now that ive seen it my stomach wishes it didnt come along with me for the ride.
Galeforce is a super underrated coaster! I rode it a month after it originally opened and it was $10 for one cycle, not two, but it was still worth it cuz it was great!!! Wasn’t rough for me despite the reviews and obviously being rebuilt lol 🤷🏻♀️
Seems nice you like Tidal Wave, but my problem with it is it's just TOO LOUD. Don't get me wrong I love hearing the Double Shot ride, but the Tidal Wave is way louder and is more unexpecting. With the Swings adjacent to it I always hope Tidal Wave is not running when I am disembarking so that I don't have my eardrums blown out.
Luckily, the Technical Park Aerobat (the Sky Roller thing) seems to have made its way to many parks around the world now, which is great, because I think they're way better than the Gerstlauers to be honest
Grew up with this place, I find it a good way to kill a few hours, the boardwalk is more calm than Wildwood, probably because it's shorter. Seaside Heights is alot farther than the others and that's even calmer and smaller; gotta get back there some time! Tidal Wave is way too loud (has been for years), so I often avoid that area; I would ride it if it was more quiet, like a third of the ear-violating noises it makes. GaleForce, for me, is sad. I used to like it but recently it's gotten rougher and the restraints are getting sucky. If it still rode like it did in 2020, then I'd come back on. Wild Waves is still a fun and great family coaster though, it's a bit ugly imo but I don't judge a book by its cover. I'd prefer the track to be like a white or light teal or green to compliment GaleForce's track. and the drop tower, double shot, used to be taller (and way too loud too) when I was a kid. It's thankfully quiet now, but it's shorter and very mild; don't expect it to be like the amazing one in Morey's Piers.
I haven't been there . I ben to Six flags in Chicago,Busch gardens in Williamsburg VA and going to palace playland amusement and old orchard beach this Sept 2-4 ,2022 🎢🎢🎢🎢🏖️⛱️
Kinda good Ocean City has two parks. The first one is for the kids and families with maybe like 2 or 3 thrill rides but it’s not as good and this park which is really good for this town
I live in south jersey, and ocean city has always been our go-to for the beach every summer. I try to stop here every time we go. Great little park with some awesome rides. Gillian’s Wonderland Pier is also a nice one to check out if you have kids with you.
I work at the pool you can see to the right of the peak of the drop, and I watch you people ride GaleForce all day, next time scream high while I lifeguard!
Wait, did the take out the mouse/rat race one?!?? That was pure nostalgia!!! Please please I hope it’s still there. I haven’t been able to go for like, 4 years!
Just took my nephew here this summer 2022!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! my nephew is 10 and he had a great time. Plenty of rides his speed. U forgot to mention the himalayas!!!

Still so cool to see someone from OC making it on TH-cam! ALWAYS love your Castaway Cove vids
Legit, Sarah should do Gillian’s next and mention how it actually used to contend with castaway cove back when! Now… oh boy not so much
I highly recommend this place. I am commenting this a couple hours before i go. Me and my family have been to this place so many times and there are rides for ALL ages. The toddlers would love the carousel and the ferris wheel. teens and older have the “Hurricane”, “Gale Force”, “Squadron 33”, and so much more!
Castaway Cove is probably my most visited park. I think Gale Force is heavily underrated.
I’ve been visiting this park since I was about three years old and I’ve seen it grow and change so much in that time. 100% recommend it. My personal favorite ride in this park is Double Shot.
Same my grandma lives in nj so I visit every summer and Ive been going on gale force every year since 2017 when I was 10
@@poopyguy1281 I can’t tell if that was a typo or you meant to spell coming like that

What a spontane to visit park! Galerorce looks nice!

I was just there yesterday - Squadron 33 is the BEST ride. My favorite flat ride EVER! At one point I was upside down and being pulled up by the knees. Weirdest / best ride experience ever.
Awesome Park with individual tickets for each ride, JUST PERFECT!!!!
Yes this video was very cool because I go here every year [summer] and now you have made me want to go on all of these awesome rides in two weeks! So I subbed enjoy the rest of your summer!
I’ve only been here once back in 2019 and I loved this place so much this is definitely my number 2 behind Morey’s Piers
I’d love to see Ocean City, New Jersey get an amusement pier that overlooks the ocean on an actual pier!
Any plans on making a video about The Bat situation at KI? Cedar fair can’t catch a break….
Awesome video we go there on vacation every year our favorite place.
going there for my birthday on the 22nd thanks for showing a review so i know what to go on
I’ve been going there since I was a baby. I love that place so much.
looks sweet :)
I remember coming here several years ago when Gale Force was under construction, I was a GP at the time and thought it was crazy that this boardwalk park built such a big coaster in such a small land plot.
Omg my family goes to OC every summer, did not expect this review 😅🤣👏
I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS ITS SO FUN
Oh my goodness bruh that place is awesome I like it . I heard of this place but I never been there before looks so cool stay safe.
Gale force and wild waves…freaking just wow

I am actually here right now
Same
This place looks so fun, I'd definitely ride quite a bit and spend probably too much money there. The flats are definitely unique
I go here every summer and from where we stay, we can see Gale Force! It’s really cool
I love ocean cit, it's awesome!
Look's pretty cool! Gale force is cool!

We went to oc this year! The whole family loves castaway
Would definitely be good to see them implement a wristband system
You have so many videos and footage of you at different parks that your updating everyday, I’m starting to think that your teleporting to each park…
It's crazy seeing a video on this place considering I work here Gale force is definitely the most popular ride and we actually do wrist band days a lot during the summer just gotta keep an eye out for those days
When I went back in 2019 it was my coaster that made me like them, I rode it 3 times and I wonder if they will ever expand the park for future rides.
I love this park
Yes I have been here every year and I recommend this place it’s a really cool place and my favorite ride is gale force!
Squadron 33 is crazy I also really like their frisbee ride
I was there when he uploaded this
3 brothers is goated

I was on that ride like 5 weeks ago
I recommend it the workers r nice it’s fun and so bright hard to miss and just great for the town
double shot is def my fav atm. thinking abt trying gale force but i’m so scared!
same
Dam you! Now I want Manco & Manco pizza... and a Kohrs frozen custard cone... and Johnson's caramel popcorn, oh wait, I still have some of that, never mind lol
A roller coaster like Wild Waves should definitely be found at Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey!
I was actually just hoping you’d make a review of this place right as I got the notification. I’m going there in August
Am I able to buy a gale force pass at the park?
Besides how expensive rides can get, another thing to watch out for is parking. Is the other park still at the far end of the boardwalk?
Yup!
Do you prefer this park or moreys piers?
I like Morey's more overall
That's my home park. It's much more booming with business than Gillian's Wonderland Pier right down the boards.
I'm actually from the Jersey shore and now live about 2 hours away in Pennsylvania. 2:21 i wonder if they snuck Wheres Waldo in there
Galeforce looks like it offers an intense ride experience
Yeah it was super fun, it traumatized me when I was 9 but I went on it this year and it’s more fun now that I’m used to roller coasters!!
I went literally to ride Gail force once and I road it. It was fun but I have been to this park multiple times before
will you visit six flags great america at all this year?
Not this year
@@CoasterStudios aw. that’s my home park so i had wanted to meet up if you were going.
In spain there is a lot of tidal waves like we have 50 kangaroos called from frogs, kangaroos, grassopher etc
yes i would recommend
Galeforce is a super underrated coaster! I rode it a month after it originally opened and it was $10 for one cycle, not two, but it was still worth it cuz it was great!!! Wasn’t rough for me despite the reviews and obviously being rebuilt lol 🤷🏻♀️
Was just down there for a week, didn't see Gale Force run once.
it's been closed the past several days. I'm in town as well and haven't seen it run since the weekend

The squadron 33 is a new versión of the clásic spitfire fro hurbertz
Why dose Gale Force have the Cannibal trains instead of the multi-launch coaster trains
was just there last week, for a small park they got some great thrills
I rode Python in 1999. After that, it was hard to be afraid of anything else
Luckily, the Technical Park Aerobat (the Sky Roller thing) seems to have made its way to many parks around the world now, which is great, because I think they're way better than the Gerstlauers to be honest

It's not, these are my honest, actual thoughts
Tbh gale is so rough I went on it and I don’t recommend lol
I live in south jersey, and ocean city has always been our go-to for the beach every summer. I try to stop here every time we go. Great little park with some awesome rides. Gillian’s Wonderland Pier is also a nice one to check out if you have kids with you.
The money is not really worth for a
small theme park but hey at least they got gale force to
remove the dog water coasters
I work at the pool you can see to the right of the peak of the drop, and I watch you people ride GaleForce all day, next time scream high while I lifeguard!
I am there rn
I recommend to wild wave
I would think Gale Force is the best in the park for airtime.
They need a wristband system to justify going here in my opinion. Unless you want to pay $6-10 a ride. Yikes
I highly recommend this place it is good for kids and teens but wonderland is better for little ones like baby’s and todlers
Wait, did the take out the mouse/rat race one?!?? That was pure nostalgia!!! Please please I hope it’s still there. I haven’t been able to go for like, 4 years!
Tidal Wave is Kangaroo at Kennywood on Meth......which is probably available a block away 😂😂😂
Just took my nephew here this summer 2022!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! my nephew is 10 and he had a great time. Plenty of rides his speed. U forgot to mention the himalayas!!!
I live in ocean city 😭😭
I built that helicopter ride!
I guess this means tropical storm was removed. :-(
This has to be the second best park on the New Jersey shore just behind Moreys piers, at least as of coaster collection and flat ride collection
