This video is so nostalgic for me! My family went here every summer. Stayed at least a week and did not need a car all week. Walked to the beach during the day and then went to the boardwalk every night! Love Polish water ice!
Don't be sad. I feel the same way...smiles & past memories. I am 57. Grew up summers down there. Amazing how nothing has changed. Favorite memory..if not at the beach or boardwalk....going crabbing. The little things didn't cost much. Can you imagine some rides costing $10.00 bucks today???? I truly feel sorry for parents today. Enjoyed the small planes flying along the coast with advertisements. Dreaming about where we were gonna eat dinner. The GOOD OLD DAYS. We were blessed.
We were at Ocean City last Wednesday afternoon. Just walking on the boards. We park usually around 6th St. and Wesley. Gillian’s was closed when we went. The golf has been $5 for as long as I can remember. Great content!
Love OCNJ and your video dawg! Love your personality! I am getting your innuendos and ol skool comments! Elvis Lemonade song was spot on! I wonder how many got that?
My Aunt and Uncle used to have a shore house at Stenton Place, and my family at night would walk to Wonderland Pier, then go to Kohr Bros for ice cream.
Great stuff Philly Captain. Grew up in South Jersey and we always took day trips to Ocean City. The amusement piers bring back good memories like Steele’s Fudge. But only New Jersey could come up with a cockamamie beach tag system which has been around for about 50 years.
Man, we *ALMOST* dropped through Ocean City just to see what it was about (I've never been, my wife hasn't been in about 20 years) on our way back from Yuri's in Wildwood to AC. I can tell you that the Curly's fries last year at Wildwood was $18 a barrel. That's a pretty good deal then. And yeah, I get looks from my wife when I douse the entire barrel with vinegar. :)
Badges are $25 for the season, $20 per week, and $10 a day. There are tag inspectors who roam the beach to make sure everyone pays. Take the drive to Maryland or Delaware for your vacation. The beaches are lovely and free.
Wow, you have to wear a beach tag!? I've never worn a tag in my life. Wait, that's not exactly true. When I was little, I was a homely child...How homely you ask? I was so homely, my parents had to tie a pork chop around my neck to get the dog to play with me... Captain, sailing with you is always a pleasure, even though I'm exhausted from having to swim back to the shore from the middle of ocean.
What ? No pinball machine arcades ??? My last visit was in 1980, and they had the beach tag foolishness even back then. 🤑 I see The Flanders on 11th Street is still there !?!
Wonderful video! ✨😀✨ I recommended your Channel on my Facebook site; hope that it will help bring in some new Subscribers! 👦👧👴👵 We love your videos; and Happy Father's Day, Captain! 👑
He said he was gonna rip the sixers hearts out that was totally uncalled for. Plus he was a mets fan growing up, also totally uncalled for. He went Will Smith and abandoned Philadelphia
You seem like beach guy too tho I like to travel and check out different beaches. Blind Pass beach here in Florida is very nice not a lot of tourism so its not crazy packed. Also, In my opinion Key West is overrated but the Keys overall in spots are really nice Like Islamorada and Marathon
@@joshuadurham9699 Agree with what you said. I actually never heard of blind pass beach ill have to look it up thanks. Got any trips to florida coming up?
Ocean City beach is nasty you need a beach tag is like pretty pretty high and the boardwalk there's nothing on the boardwalk I think Ocean City is a bust the best beach in Seaside Heights or if you're down in Ocean City area go to Wildwood you'll enjoy yourself

My friend Mary Jane, lived down ocean City. She used to bring me there. Now she's in heaven. Miss her. Passed away November 2016
Captain, you are a natural at doing these tours!
Bringing back childhood memories. Happy and sad at the same time.😂😂😂

You're lucky. At least you had a childhood worth a damn.
Went to Ocean City every year as a kid. Now we take our kids to Wildwood. They love it!
Yeah, my family preferred Wildwood, when we still lived up north.
Great summer video.
Thefudgery was so much fun.
I literally laugh out loud on all your videos. You’re the man Philly Cap!
They have falcon handlers now, along the beach and boardwalk. When they fly they keep the seagulls at bay.
Is that what they are for? that is pretty interesting.
I never once paid for a beach tag, I always have said my parents or friend has them. But most of the time they don’t check
I spent every summer in high school working on the seaside heights boardwalk, loved it
I've always heard of the Ocean City Boardwalk. Thanks for the tour and what sounded like Andrew Dice Clay
I go O.C.NJ every summer in late july to see my family thats from jersey! I love the water park and putt putt! And of course go Phillies
Hey Philly Captain, great video & more along the boardwalk-Ocean City, NJ..TOODLES..

I’ve been to ocean city many times and never knew you could see AC from there, I’ll check it out the next time I visit, thanks!!
We need more beach videos cap! I love learning shit from your videos.
My Aunt and Uncle used to have a shore house at Stenton Place, and my family at night would walk to Wonderland Pier, then go to Kohr Bros for ice cream.
I usually go every year up to the shore❤🎉 Can’t go this year, so thanks bringing me a piece of Ocean City⭐️
The Beach Boys are coming to the Music Pier in August.

Mrs Scoops and I got married on the beach there and had our reception at the Flanders 👍
Another great video!!!
Thanks awesome places I enjoyed watching
Grew up going to seaside heights in the 80s n 90s.
Love your videos Jon.
Thanks for the video. Does anyone know if Gillian’s may reopen? I heard this was closing?
Yes, sea gulls are sneaky!
I agree with you about the bag rule
You're Darrell Waltrip personation is right on.
It is absolutely barking mad to me (from UK) that you have to pay to go on the beach! Crazy! So many rules as well.
It's New Jersey, they tax and spend like addicts
Yo Cap! Great Dice impression.

OCNJ is my favorite place in the world! They use to have a Indy ball team in Atlantic City called the Atlantic City surf
Yea and every once in a while an old mlb player would wash up on the surf. Like mitch williams or pete incavilia
Pork Roll-Philly, South Jersey - Taylor Ham- North Jersey, New York.
Very interesting video.😊

Maryland ocean city is a dump and overpacked and massive crime . Delaware is also a dump . No thanks. South Jersey and northward to avoid the trash
What if you don't pay? Do they issue a civil violation?
Go to Wildwood... or come to Ocean City Maryland... better pizza
Ocean City Maryland is soo much better tons bars, tons stuff for kids of any age, much better boardwalk and FREE BEACHES.

I was just in Ventnor this weekend.
Cap Angelo is at the bookstore at 756 Asbury Ave from noon-2pm today Saturday if you are still in town.
Few weeks string bands will be playing there
they call the beach tax beach tags so it sounds less like youre being robbed
What ?
No pinball machine arcades ???
My last visit was in 1980, and they had the beach tag foolishness even back then.
🤑 I see The Flanders on 11th Street is still there !?!
they changed the law in wildwood, you can now have tents on the beach
They have people that walk the boards now with peregrine falcons to keep the seagulls away
The new rules sound like crime reduction 👍
We call it Taylor's Pork Roll in Delco.
My Joey
dangerous after dark
Hope you checked out Charlie’s in summers point… great place to go for dinner. You need to get the “Top Gunners” wings.. Go PHILLIES!!!! ⚾️
*I Just Wear A Nap Sack or A Book Bag instead of A Backpack*
Ocean City always had the best board walk, better than Wildwood and Atlantic City.
Hi❤❤
Love your videos Caption......but everyone knows the best ocean city is in Maryland.......you need to come down and compare.
Jersey is just a road to the Shore….
Wonderful video! ✨😀✨

The cartoon character is Dumbo
Kobe is literally a hometown hero.. and u say he beat the sixers like everyone hasn't beat the sixers for ages smh
He didn't do anything in Philadelphia to be a hometown hero.
@@ThePhillyCaptain ur kidding right?
Allen Iverson is a Philly hero. No respectable Philly fan should like Kobe. We booed him when he won the all-star game mvp in Philadelphia.
He said he was gonna rip the sixers hearts out that was totally uncalled for. Plus he was a mets fan growing up, also totally uncalled for. He went Will Smith and abandoned Philadelphia
Manco pizza🤮
Ocnj is the best beach for sure. Oc Maryland , Atlantic City and wildwood are dirty and trashy
Apparently you have never been to a Gulf Coast beach in Florida. All Jersey Shore beaches are trashy

You've got to pay to walk on the beach? What a scam.
Shame how yutes ruin the jersey shore 😢
Damn seagull crashed into the back of my head one time, I thought someone thru a gallon of milk at me...
