Please don't try to make this type of nest into anything. The hornets sting as many times as they like -not like bees. Don't think freezing, that means hibernation. Why not try to recreate with correct paper layers maybe they have woodear mushroom pictures you could layer. Hornets nest is deadly

And/or placing the sealed bag in a closed car during the hot weather for a couple of days. They don't live very long. Your thoughts?
