Jermaine is the most chill person you can meet, I went with a buddy to get his Supra tuned by him, and he was very thorough with his work. He's a great tuner and an even nicer person.
He got to feel the honda effect "this shit bucket is good for nothing", tunes it, drives it "she aint that bad" :D
The moment you realize that tall Ben is slowly turning into a Honda guy. That smile on his face after the tuning session said it all for me.

That’s impressive power from that “sh*tbucket” for sure, especially for such a lightweight vehicle with the sound deadening paint smashed up into pieces.
This looks like a solid race bc we can’t discredit the DSG tranny. The GLI also had some weight removed, some slicks added, and I have a feeling they will be pushing a lot of torque. All the EURO spec team needs to do, is time their launch correctly, and manage to out all that power to the ground.
Meanwwhile Ben 2x needs to also get their shifting on point. Very excited to see the conclusion!!

In Rallying the fuel lines have to be braided steel lines that only run inside the car and not underneath so it can't get bust open being pinched in a crash being under the car 👌🤙💯

For Anyone wondering.. Yes you have to notch the frame for b swapped EFs, I've had a little too much time fixing these and they did almost everything properly to fix it up for a B swap.
That civic build is all i want to just beat on haha. Im currently turbocharging my 2008 TC. Going for about 280-300whp. Gonna be fun to gap cars that i should have no business racing haha.

When mounting a battery inside the cabin, you should vent the battery to the outside of the car.
This is usually done with a hose connecting to the valve on top of the battery, that is then run out through the floor.
When lead acid batteries see lots of current, they start to release gases that you don't want to be breathing in.
dude its crazy how tlc and doing shit right made this car come to life. that thing gets down clean it up and thats a very respectable little honda. always loved the ef b16 boosted builds honestly its a dream build that or a s13

I am really loving this series you guys are doing with Charles (Humble Mechanic). And HUGE shout out to Turbo XS!! I love Jermaine! He tuned my GD7 STI MAAAAAAANY moons ago. It was a ROCK solid tune, but eventually had to sell the car (Life happened - Marriage, babies, house, stress). The car was rock solid till the day I sold it. Jermaine is a dying breed of tuners in MD, thorough, precise, knows HIS S**T to the T! I should stop in and say hi to him sometime though I wonder if he still remembers me. And curious, that area is FULL of speed cameras and cops, how did you go up and down that road and not get caught? LOL! I got a ticket after I stopped in for a tune, and then eagerly tested it out. Though, Jermaine and some of the guys from Andrewtech that were there did warn me "Dude, be careful, cops and cameras everywhere!"
Really loved this episode! Brought back a lot of memories from TurboXS and Jermaine. Really loving the build! I'm now a subscriber to your channel. And really cool and good sportsmanship letting Charles get an S4 and resetting his budget to fix his tranny. Top notch character.
This is my favourite series yet. For some reason it is unique though it still follows the classic build battle. Well done.
When you B swap a 88-91 Civic, you are supposed to hammer in the frame rail on the driver side to make clearance for the alternator pulley. The guy that swapped the motor obviously didn’t do that.

Only when doing stock builds. But b series are getting more expensive now. When this LS blows up doing a k swap would be cheaper than finding a vtec b series long block
@@Jamxknife can go h series as well its cheap and puts down the same numbers as a k series only bad thing bout em is the frm sleeves but just sleeve the block and throw some nice forged pistons in there and be gtg
@@Jamxknife it really comes down to the tuning and you can build a h series for far less than a k series and out perform them they make great hp and torque just like the k series the h is underapreciated

Seeing Jermaine's lil grin after realizing the shitbucket wasn't so bad was so good. I remember him taking me for a ride around the block in the Veloster N he was fiddling with before I showed up to get tuned. Good times. Can't wait to see how this ends!
When the race is over, 1) we need the Humble Mechanic to rebuild the Jetta and 2) we need to see the Jetta race the Civic... Nice collab guys, I learnt about the Humble Mechanic channel through Jason's channel ("Engineering Explained"), and Ive been following Gears and Gasoline at least since the first roadtrip with the EK Civic (before it was K-swapped for the first time), maybe even a little earlier than that... Great content from both channels, I'd subscribe multiple times to both channels if I could. Great stuff!!!

That's crazy power for a car that weighs nothing. I swapped a D15 into mine and it felt fast even then. A B series + turbo is honestly dream spec. No K needed.
I can honestly see this Civic becoming a more long term steed in the stable for Gears and Gasoline. It has some serious potential if a little more time and money is put into it

EF & CRX both have fuel lines & brake lines that run through the inside of the car from factory, great idea actually, they wont rust that way which is very common on later model Honda's and can be very dangerous
That DOHC non-vtec engine with a turbo in that light weight EF Hatch is gonna be alot of fun with 300+ WHP

That tuner is the real mvp . And he the driver mod that's how you drive a boosted Honda . He kept it in power band on there 1-2 shift . Boosted Hondas need the wheel speed to match gearing so that's the real reason y they bang red line .other wise the fall on there face . Look a bens run then look at the tuners run . Take notes before the race and practice . And if you love your axles and are griped up do not dump clutch out the hole also preload with the e- brake
You can definitely tell the dyno tuner on the JDM Side was more professional. Tell you exactly what is going and what can go wrong. That blow up on the other side got me dying for too long.. I can't.... breathe...

I have two true loves, the E46 M3 and the ND2. Automotively, I swing both ways. But that EF RIPS! Don’t really know what you could do for $5K in Euro money that’s gonna beat that if it stays together.
