@@mcgeemoo its rwd so its naturally more planted. Also he is running a very sticky track tire and increased camber so the car naturally tries to tip over with all the grip
Love seeing the progress of this car, makes me want something Vtecy! I was also wondering if you'd considered getting a suit etc. I know it's a bit of expense, but given how fast the car is getting it might be wise to look at things like a HANS device. Obviously hoping you'll never need it, but I always feel a lot safer with than without.
I agree with JIMMER here. With these kinds of tracks, ones that aren’t the highest quality in terms of safety (metal and tire barriers with not so smooth grass). Extra equipment likes a HANS device, race suit and proper helmet will be a great addition. I’d rather have it and not need to use it and not to have it and need to use it!
This whole series is an absolute testament to the honda k20/24. U got boosted boys 7second k20 mr2 with the fastest mr2 in the world, ben with his k24 civic getting consistent podium finishes with no mechanical trouble and a handful of other racers also using k20/24 swapped cars. Truly one of the best 4 cylinder car engines ever made
I am absolutely loving this new format!! But I kinda also miss the old format a bit. idk I think the old format made me feel a lot more connected but the new one makes it more entertaining
First off I never post comments on any off the TH-cam channels I watch but you guys are doing such a good job!! I own a film production company and hands down you videos are the best car content on youtube, I look forward to every video you produce keep it up!!!
was so caught up with my sti and this guy motivated me to get back in the honda game. am now bringing my ek9 back to life that was just sitting and not running for 3 years! gonna upgrade all of the suspension components and bars needed to get the most out of the reliable stock power of the b18c. it's now in the paint shop, cant wait to install all the suspension goodies, get it dialed in and feel it in the track for the first time!
Maybe it’s time for a big brake kit, you’ll be able to get on the brakes later in the turn, and they’ll stay cooler.. some DIY brake ducts too 😳 maybe some hood Louvers to keep the engine bay temps down, cooler engine, and less pressure under the hood.. tune it to go faster 🤩
He doesn't necessarily need the extra spinning weight from the big brake kit because it is a small car, but he definitely needs brake ducts. Besides ducts are way cheaper than possibly having to swap to 5 lug hubs and wheels.
Man you guys and this channel have come such a long way over a short time! What used to be just pretty footage and film school product is now really quality track racing and event coverage. Very much enjoying it and looking forward to the rest of the season with you guys!
What up Ben! It was awesome that I had an opportunity to meet, greet, and say thank you for making awesome content on TH-cam! When I saw you with my buddy, I was excited as heck. I knew you were gonna go fast the moment you get in the zone. Good luck to you and the other Ben! Stay fast and quick!
Great progress as a driver and as a car/team. I started following you guys a few years back and I was hooked fast. Keep up the videos and keep getting better.
It's so good to see some fresh gridlife content! Ben the civic looks great,it's nice to see it on track, putting down some lap times, please keep the incredible content coming, your videos and sleeping in are the only things I have to look forward to on Saturday....
All the VTEC! So fun. Love the video. I do quite well during a wet autocross event in my Integra Type R. The car communicates the limit so well that I can really stay on the limit and end up with a good result.
Ben is killing it! And so is that stockish s2000! I havent raced mine yet, but i would like to track it at least once.. but like that dude, its my only car too!
This makes me want to rebuild my 91 civic even more! I know it needs lots of work, even more now that it's been sitting for years, but driving that thing was like riding on rails! With a proper setup, maybe I'll see you on a track some day! 😁 (more than wishful thinking)
That intro is giving me huge Gran Turismo intro video vibes. Just got to overlay ‘Are You Gonna Go My away’ (showing my age here) and it’s perfect. Also, I’m gonna need that S2000 intro fireball in .gif form.
Congratulations on your 1st place man! I love to see the car perform and you growing in skill and confidence! Im just getting into my first actual motorsport at 33 amd i cant wait to get some seat time. Its the most important aspect of driving fast.
I remember seeing the k swap just finished and he was still haven't dialed in the suspension bouncing around the track. Look at the foo now in first. Haven't been playing enough attention but it's pretty inspiring for me
Really proved my point about brakes here as I have told people sufficient air flow, great pads, a rotor that won't warp on you, good fluid, and shedding weight from your car will serve you better than just putting the biggest brakes possible on your car (brakes are heavy af too). I have 340mm/310mm on my MK7 and they are nice, but if I could keep the diff and go down to the non PP size I would because you don't need brakes this big on the street. Of course I could be wrong, and I will admit that these OE brakes with OE pads have impressed me quite a few times, but I feel that I could have gotten away with the smaller but more affordable rotors and pads. For comparisom a C6 Z51 has 340mm rotors, E36 M3 323mm...and I believe the STI has the same size fronts at 340mm, but the WRX is a good bit smaller and I envy my friend for that because he doesn't have to shell out a big chunk whenever it comes time to do brakes. TLDR check the price of consumeables before you buy a car, and bigger doesn't always mean better.
I think it's crazy to look back at how this car started and where it's at now. I'd love to k24 swap my ek civic because after owning an 07 si I can see how addictive k series are when you floor them
I found your guys channel from the euro vs jdm drag race. You guys have some great content, ive been watching fully of the gridlife racing set... very awesome
Honed developments makes an air guide kit for brake cooling that bolts to the front lower control arms. Would help significantly bring down those brake temps. Just at thought, hope it helps :)
The rear suspension setup is dialed in, the three tire rotation gives you way more advantage and less más to turn. By the way, for brake cooling I’ll try put some naca ducts underneath the car
Nothing's more iconic than seeing that civic go around a corner on three wheels
Like a dog taking a leak. Legendary
Does that mean it's springs are too soft or too stiff
@@mcgeemoo its because of independent rear suspension. Totally normal
@@rojiii69420 Why though my miata doesn't it as well. Not enough length in the shock

how the hell did a car bought for a laugh out loud road trip become such a badass timeattack car
hats off to you ben!
It’s called dumping over 50k in a car lol
Sponsors and couple thousands lol
ASM!
Lots of jealous folks in the replies
The competition is a joke thats how.

Not having/having HANS is the difference between a permanent injury(or worse) and walking away to race tomorrow.
Jimmer hinting at punterino
it's not if you'll punterino, but when
@@marekfiferna Not having a HANS device with a 5 point harness is a death wish. A lot of people think that a 5 point is enough to keep them safe.
MIa has come such a long way! from a road trip car to a racing winning car! such an amazing and crazy journey that car has gone through
Crazy when first time we saw the car is around $5000 and then it become crazy time attack monster
Allright, those first 33 seconds full of engines roaring and heavy metal... I loved them.
Production quality of this channel is off the scale. I enjoyed every single video you made.
its always a great day when gears and gasoline uploads
I love seeing Ben from zero to hero on his Civic, that's what you call passion.
Shout out to Luke for his amazing editing! Loved the little interview breakdowns of the laps and Ben’s times compared to everyone else’s!
I love seeing the progress Ben has had in his driving skill. Amazing progress all within two seasons.
Seeing the Silver Subie SUV bought back some memories
Damn ben killing it man glad to see the civic holding it down

Jumping that curb was poetry in motion! 👌👌

Hell yeah Ben!! Amazing job brother! Can’t wait to see the Pike’s Peak video!

Good thing his little tape trick did absolutely nothing.
@@thescout4313 i think it’s for airflow but imo he should maybe fabricate some aero in the bumper so that air gets to the brakes

Nice to see that the your car is turning into a winner!
