I agree about this immensely, it makes me so happy 😂 It can be irritating watching so many different TH-camrs reacting to Harry Potter and not noticing certain things. I'm over here saying, Finally!
The weird thing is in the book, Harry feels so bad about how his father treated Snape that he communicates with Sirius and Lupin Because he can’t believe his father would do that. Everyone spoke about his father as a wonderful person but when Harry saw that vision, he didn’t know what to think about his father anymore. He actually felt bad for Snape and didn’t know what to do about it.
His dad was equally good as he was bad. To the people he loved, he was good to those he didn't, he was bad. Same as Sirus. Sirus is still an a$$hole he's just nice to Harry. People like to say James changed...he didn't same with Sirus
Lupin tells us in Prisoner of Azkaban that James was a trouble maker, it just went over our heads. It was the scene where Lupin and Harry were talking on the bridge. To paraphrase he says, "Lilly was a singularly gifted witch, she was also an uncommonly kind woman, James on the other hand had a talent for trouble"
It's complicated.... We all have people in our lives who we love but, if we're honest, we know that they have some serious flaws. I think that's one reason this series is so enduring, because the characters, as well as their motives and actions, are so complex.
@blahblahblahblah729 he did not. He stopped being an ass openly, but he certainly didn't change. Not only is it evidant in the fact that Sirus was definitely not a great person, not a single person ever talked about how good of a person James was.
On Neville & Bellatrix - Bellatrix was one for four Death Eaters, one being Barty Crouch Jr., who tortured Neville's parents with the Cruciatus curse for information on The Order years ago. They lived but they never recovered, never regained their sanity, and don't know their son when they see him which is why Neville has lived with his grandmother. This is also why, in the previous film, Barty Jr. as Mad-Eye forced Neville to name the torture curse and subsequently used it on that spider-creature in front of him specifically; it was a sick way to torment the boy who's parents he tortured into insanity. That's why he only stopped when Hermione shouted at him, he was literally enjoying re-traumatising Neville.
Dude I'll keep saying this... you guys are insanely good at picking up fine details. I have literally never one time seen a single reaction to this movie where someone actually registered that Hermione called Luna "looney" by accident, and made the link that that is what the students call her because she seems like a crazy person. NO ONE catches that except people who read the books from what I've seen... and there's like 20 other examples like this in this reaction alone haha. Nice job guys Also, Luna is such a good character. The story behind the actress is also incredible. Evanna Lynch (Luna) had an eating disorder when she was only 12 years old, and she wrote to JK Rowling (author of Harry Potter) and BECAME PEN PALS WITH HER. She told JK she loved her books because "her books and her kindness really made me want to live again." 2 years later, she auditioned for Luna (without any prior professional acting experience) and landed the role, and THIS is what we got. Absolutely incredible.
Appreciate the love we try our best to watch closely during these reactions because these HP movies are very detailed. Luna grew on us a lot during this movie and we can agree she is a great character. Also, that is an amazing story on how she landed this role, couldn’t have been played better!
For real, even catching that the cat on wall left to tell Umbridge, I haven't seen any other reactors pick up on these things, it's awesome to see. And yes, in an interview JK Rowling said she wrote the character of Luna with Evanna in mind, as they were writing letters back and fourth at the time and Rowling then promised Luna the role if she got better, and here we are. Another detail I love is, while Harry is teaching Dumbledores Army you will notice he starts to dress more like Professor Lupin, this is something Daniel Radcliffe had suggested to the director as he felt like Harry would do this as a gesture of respect and to show he looks up to Lupin.
and adding on to the story of Evanna Lynch, when they had the casting auditions for Luna the Harry Potter franchise was already very very big. So thousands upon thousands of young women went to the auditions in the hope to land the role. The fact Evanna still got the role really proves she doesn't play Luna she IS Luna
@@seriouslyzany9232 I never saw JK Rowling state she promised the role Luna to Evanna, pretty pointless to make thousands of young women audition if the role is already promised to someone. I did see an interview with Rowling where she said something along the lines: When the director called me that they found Luna, i asked them who it was, they told me Evanna Lynch which made me almost faint because i had been exchanging letters with her for quite a while' So i'm not sure where you got the info Luna was promised to Evanna
Once you grow up, it’s easy to understand that. Something that helped me (Swizz) understand that growing up was watching Naruto & learning about Itachi, Naruto, Sasuke, Gaara, obito, etc (if you know about Naruto this will make sense)
1:02:45 Snape knew exactly what that meant, pretended he didn't know and didn't care so Umbridge didn't interrogate him. The only reason the Order of the Phoenix was there at the Ministry to save the gang was because Snape told them what Harry said. No one knew what was happening.
Luna's dad, Xenophilius Lovegood, is basically Lucius Malfoy dipped in wholesome oddness, sprinkled with healthy dose paranoia, and (probably) smoking some very good ish 🌿
You guys were the only reactors that understood my favorite fellow Ravenclaw so quickly... Luna! She is wise beyond her years... and every intuitive!!!
Dumbledore doesn’t need any help. As I was watching this, I noticed it not only was Dumbledore fighting with Voldemort, but he was also protecting Harry from injury. Dumbledore is the best strongest wizard ever. He didn’t need Harry’s help. This was amazing duel.
I was hoping someone commented this. In the books he has complete control in protecting Harry and scaring Voldemort. But the movie they wanted it to be more cinematic I guess- which made it seem like it was equal between Voldemort and Dumbledore (or even that Dumbledore needed help - which he didn’t)
The reason they muted Daniel's (Harry) scream/cry after Sirus died was bc Emma (Hermione) & Helena (Bellatrix) & others on the set couldn't stop crying bc it was too realistic. I think it works better that they muted it.
The dementors are so creepy, especially in theory. They literally suck all of your happiness and most special memories out of you until there's nothing left except your absolute most horrifying, darkest and most depressing memories and feelings unto there's nothing left. Really scary and depressing when you think about that.
J. K. Rowling, the author of the books said at one point she considered killing Arthur Weasley in this book. But there were very few decent fathers plus she loved the character so she could not kill him, she let him live.
"this probably my favorite one" - the proper reaction after every single HP movie lol. no flops all bangers. you guys bring the energy/focus so easy to each react. excited for the final 3 movies. Got my 3hrs in today watching both uploads legooooo
In the books, the sign up sheet titled 'Dumbledore's Army' , was enchanted by Hermione to detect and identify anyone who betrayed the D.A. - the betrayer would break out in boils that spelled 'Sneak' across his or her face.
Luna is really pragmatic. And observant, and so smart! First getting to know her, it's confusing, because she's also kind of ethereal and spacey, and speaks so lightly. Edited to say: Yeah, she really saved the day when she asked Harry about the Patronus Charm he'd cast last year. She knew he had, and she brought it up cause the way the meeting was going, they weren't going to end it with a sign-up sheet for Dumbledore's Army. She knew Harry talking about it would spark everybody's interest. Welcome back!!!
Loved that they added Luna into the movie! She was a perfect addition & it was kind of refreshing to have her in the scenes she was in bc it added a calm presence to the movie. When Harry felt alone she was always there to help him understand that someone could connect w/ how he was feeling! Can’t wait for these last ones🔥
Not yet though, that doesn’t happen till Deathly Hallows. They thought it would be a good way to catch members of the Order since no one else was bold enough to say it.
@@OphepheVanessawhere are we told that? It wouldn’t make sense because they use his name in books five and six without it breaking any protective enchantments. Ron learns about the taboo when he leaves them and they realize that’s how he found them in the café, but no time prior did that happen.
Imelda Staunton did a fantastic job playing a character who was more hated than the story's main villain. The fact that Umbridge was more hated than Voldemort himself makes the scene where she gets carried away like firewood by the centaurs that much more satisfying. When I first saw Grawp, I thought he looked like the illustrated kid on the cover of MAD Magazine, Alfred E. Neuman. Also.... Cornelius Fudge, after seeing Voldemort: He's back.... Me, sarcastically: *Gee, if only someone said that the previous year and at the hearing. Oh, wait....*
She’s definitely more hated than Voldemort! The presence & attitude she brought into the movie was a big part of that. All in all she played her role very well. EXACTLY!!! Harry only said it 100 times throughout the last 2 movies🤣
@@DaKidsReact I know it was fear that warped his mind, but that's no reason for Fudge to act like a dick about it. Harry has never had a reason to lie about anything.
Her character was one that we love to hate and should admire how well she made us dislike her. Brilliant acting even though I can't stand Umbridge. My friend has a themed Halloween Party the weekend after Halloween and a few years ago it was was "Villians...and some heroes" I found the perfect pink tweed blazer and skirt set at good will for 50% off and I went as Umbridge. I was best homemade costume and best "In character" lol. I did her little high pitch 1 syllable laugh. I pointed my wand and told them they were sitting to close together 😂 Someone didn't follow the theme that year and dressed as Cho! It was perfect! 😂
In the book Hermione had enchanted the parchment for the Dumbledore's Army sign up sheet. It was Cho's friend who told Umbridge on her own without the tea. Hermione had enchanted the parchment that any of them betrayed the group, boils would form on his or her face across the cheeks and nose, forming the word "SNEAK". No one but Hermione, not even the adults could figure out how to reverse it.
You will meet Luna's father in deathly hallows and he looks like her! Draco is related to: the Weasleys (distantly), Sirius (his mum's cousin), Nyphadora Tonks (his cousin), Bellatrix (his aunt) and Andromeda (aunt; not in the films). Everyone with the surname Black was in Slytherin except Sirius. There are 'good' Slytherins, you'll meet one as a teacher next film.
Harry's weapon isn't love. Love is what stopped Harry from dying when he was a baby when his mother sacrificed herself for him. The weapon the prophecy was talking about comes in much later on, even though it was in front of us since the first film.
Different screen writer for this one which portrays Ginny more like book Ginny: It won't last as the old writer returns! In the books Nevil breaks his wand (his dad's wand) and it is replaced by a custom made one. Nevil's magic improves now onwards.
25:36 Fuel to hate Umbridge more cause she's actually evil: this part was dialed down for the movies from the book and they leave it a little more vague so it's not quite as graphic but the reason the 'ink' Harry is writing with is red is because it's not ink, it's his blood. She has him writing in his own blood, and it's not just scratching on the surface of his hand the quill is carving into his hand like a knife would, branding him and using his blood. In the books the scar never really fully faded, always kind of there reminding Harry of what she did to him. The longer you use the quill and the more you write the more painful it is and the deeper the scar is. In the books Umbridge gave Harry detention many times and made him write these lines many, many times, so it permanently scarred his hand (he mentions the scar in subsequent books sometimes, as he does things and notices it). So he's being tortured from the blood loss and pain on top of the regular pain of doing lines over and over. oh and if you're wondering the reason you can't just use a spell to make the scar go away is because it's made with dark magic. The quill is a dark object so the damage is permanent and can't be faded or made to go away with a spell.
Wow that’s crazy! Umbridge definitely was an a**hole! Lol it’s crazy how she became a part of Hogwarts and immediately got the power to start changing things. Enjoy this movie for sure tho!
Yo, I’ve watched these movies 100x. Each time it’s a mystery how Umbridge squeezes out those giggles. Also if yall watch the anniversary, you’ll be surprised as to how Luna’s actor was casted.
43:22 the lady that voted for Harry in the trial was Amelia Bones. In the first movie, her niece Susan Bones was the red-head girl that was being sorted into Hufflepuff when Harry saw Snape for the first time and his scar started to hurt
This gets so much more intricate you really really need to pay attention from now on and im sure comments will clear things up. Like how (not mentioned in the movies) Harry HAS to stay w the dursleys bc the protection spell still stands bc of Lilly's sister and some other factors but ya lol
“Dumbledore too old” Dumbledore: bet hold my cup! This the second time Dumbs had to put a top 2 dark wizard in his place. That guy! My heart broke for Harry losing Sirius. His only connection to his parents. In the book, it was actually that old house elf that helped plot Harry going to the Ministry. Also, Sirius had given Harry a two way mirror which Harry could’ve used to check on Sirius but he never checked to see what it was and forgot he had it 😢
Was sad seeing him lose Sirius, the only family he had left that he was close to. It’s gonna be interesting to see how these next few movies play out now.
I'm watching this 7+ months after the original posting, and I'm echoing what everyone else has already said... but your attention to detail, perception, and memory is INSANE. The way you pick up on things and remember characters/clues/memories from previous movies and scenes is literally unbelievable for a reaction channel. I am thoroughly impressed. Way to go!
@@julsenn91 We really enjoyed all the HP series! We were fully immersed in it after the first movie and we knew how big these movies are so we couldn’t disappoint! We are happy that you are enjoying your time over here with us 🔥👏🏾👏🏾
1:13:01 lol “Do it” 1:13:39 the way yall synchronized your head turns when Dumbledore came in was good Great reaction as usual. Looking forward to that next one.
So glad to see your post today!!! Ive been waiting for you to keep going with the story. You really do have a great way of reacting and understanding the small details of the story. Not everyone does. Thank you for sharing.
We took a little break due to competition BUT happy to be back & bringing another one in 2 weeks! We try our best to understand & catch as much as we possibly can during our reactions. Truly happy you’re enjoying them! Much love💙
PLEASE dont take this the wrong way! You guys remind me of the Jellyfish Brothers "Ernie and Bernie" off Sharktale movies with Will Smith. I ❤ them and their carefree energy! ❤ your content as well! 😊
1:13:12 when Voldemort says "you've got to mean it" this is literal. In the books it's kinda explained that casting any of the 3 unforgivable curses cannot be done without having full intent. If you say 'crucio' but you don't really have it in your heart to torture someone or you don't really have murder in you etc. then the spell won't work anyway. someone on a subreddit a while ago explained it well: "... Avada Kedavra, Crucio and Imperio are useful only for their intended purpose, nothing else. You have to mean it, and then you have no excuse if you’re in court later. You can’t say ‘I used the killing curse on someone but I didn’t mean to kill them!’ because what else is it used for? And the fact it worked meant you did it with pure and clear intention - the intention to murder someone." That's why it didn't work for Harry as he didn't really mean it.
I wouldn’t look up head cannons until you guys have finished the series but one I can say without spoiling anything is when Draco looks into the mirror we see in the first movie he sees himself with Harry Ron and hermoine
Watching your reaction video for the second time since you reposted LOL Still love it 😂😅Cant wait for the rest of the movies. I think you both will really enjoy it, it gets better and better.
Thank you for watching again Sarah💙 We are excited to see how they end off the series! Watching Half blood prince of Wednesday or Thursday for Patreon & coming in 2 weeks to YT🔥
GUYS! i love these videos, you 2 are taking me back to the magic of it all again. I just want to say a big thank you also, ive noticed throughout your videos, you keep an eye on technical aspects and making sure the audio an video sync every video, your production quality is also top notch, commentary and film audio match so well. Luna lovegood represents all the people who suffer in silence, if you've ever feel different you'll have Luna as your friend. I look forward to the next installments, Thank you so much ❤❤✌✌☮☮
We are grateful we could bring that feeling back for you! We appreciate you taking notice to those small things & IT IS THE LEAST WE CAN DO FOR ALL YOU GUYS DO FOR US! She definitely does & that was good to connect w/ her & happy they added her into the storyline! It was refreshing in a way to have her take part in this movie. We will have it up in 2 weeks for YT & this weekend for Patreon! Much love💙
In the book, the list of Dumbledore's Army had a spell on it that bound everybody to secrecy. If anyone on the list ratted them out, they would get a skin condition that spelled out "Sneak" on their forehead. The sneak ended up being Cho's friend, Marietta Edgecombe who didn't want to be there.
This reaction video was good my guys , order of the phoenix yes it got more darker . I’m so glad they added Sirius black into more scenes this movie because you understand why Harry is so drawn to him. He is his comfort zone a great mentor/ God father to him . The greatest quote of this film was by Sirius “ "We've all got light and dark inside us. What matters is the side we choose to act on. That's who we really are." beyond powerful and you can really connect with what he meant by that . also I’m glad to see the love that yall are gaining each movie you can see it in ya reactions how more invested you guys are it’s so great to see bros. I’m glad Neville got more scenes. Also, Dumbledore is that guy 💯 . The new headmaster she made my skin crawl. I was glad when she got dealt with . Bellatrix Lestrange is related to Sirius and had no remorse to what she done. I’m glad that the ministry finally got to see that the dark Lord is back and they can stop investigating lies. I love how he created a leadership in the order, for himself to teach young wizards how to defense themselves for when the time comes . Luna does look like a Malfoy but you can tell from her personality she is not related. The battle between Dumbledore and Voldemort was pure Cinema👏🏾👏🏾. I’m telling yall will have a different perspective on which one is your favorite most definitely after you guys complete all eight . Can’t wait to see yall watch the next one . Keep doing yall thing 💪🏾
About Lucius, NOT a spoiler but only covered in the book, after what y’all just watched at the ministry, Lucius and all the death eaters there were sent to Azkaban except Bellatrix who we saw escape. Lucius failing there comes into play later but the whole scene at ministry is very detailed in the book with a lot more happening. I listened to the audiobooks on 1.2 speed and it opened up a new world and clarified everything. Grew up only watching the movies but last year finally listened to the books and was blown away by how much more the author came up with.
Just checking with you guys. I had just finished watching this reaction, was going to make a comment, and the video already had some views and likes. Tho it seems that the video has been reuploaded. Just wanted to point it out and you guys deserve all the lost views and likes. Channel needs the love. Keep up the great work guys. P.S. What I was originally going to say was that I heard Swizz say he's getting way more invested as you go through the series. It really does, as you get attached to not only Harry, Hermione, and Ron, but the rest of the students and the Adults. And as you see these guys grow up before your eyes during each movie. By the time you get to the end, they all feel like family.
Yes i (Swizz) exported the first upload & the intro background music moved to the 40min mark for 10 mins during our reaction. We appreciate you & this means a lot to us. We try our best to hold a high standard for our content as well as make it enjoyable for you all! THATS TRUE! When we started people kept saying we would get invested & as we are going through it couldn’t be more true. They feel like little brothers & sisters to us (as you can tell by how protective we are over them)! We can’t imagine how it would’ve felt watching this as kids growing up w/ them.
I really like that you said," that really changed the perception of his " I remember the first time I realized my dad was flawed, I can't imagine Harry never knowing his father realizing he could be a bully. The books explain Snape's and James" school hood rivalry better.
That scene we feel was important to the story & Harry as for us in that moment it changed how we perceived James bc up until that point he seemed as if he couldn’t be a bully by how he was talked about.
@DaKidsReact James was the good man everyone bragged about AND he was the bully who Snapes hated deeply. The same could be said for Sirus, which is why they were close. I like the complexity of the characters. Young Dumbledore could be in this grey category too.
@OphepheVanessa That's not true, haven't you read the books? Dumbledore himself said Snape gave as much as he got, SNAPE made Sectumsempra to KILL James, SNAPE called Lily a mudblood, SNAPE joined the wizards n@zis. James SAVED Snape's life, after Sirius was dumb enough to tell him to go to the shack. Don't pretend Snape is this sorry little victim, he was happy to watch other muggleborns be killed and tortured, and only turned when it affected someone he loved (As if it wasn't obvious for his dumb ass that Lily would be persecuted too). Snape also, in his 30s, bullied and tortured 11 year olds.
we had to put up with teachers like these, it's very true to our experiences, those of our age anyway, still had capitol punishment in my day. You guys are so decent it's great to watch your reactions.🥰
@DaKidsReact Not sure if you know this or not but the actress who played Luna, Evanna Lynch, actually had battled a serious eating disorder and spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital. What made her feel like she wanted to live and get better were the Harry Potter books especially the character of Luna because she herself felt odd and weird because of her struggles and shyness. So at 11yrs old she started writing to the author J.K. Rowling, expressing how much she loved her books and how reading them in the hospital really gave her hope and the two become sort of pen pals. Rowling really supported her and encouraged her with her eating disorder and self confidence so when she found out in 2006 that they were holding auditions for the role of Luna she went and auditioned. The casting officials said that out of the thousands of girls that auditioned there were some that could definitely play Luna, but they also said that when Evanna auditioned, "she was Luna Lovegood." She was cast and the rest is history. I just have so much love and respect for her being so open about her struggles with something so serious and I'm sure it helped so many other young girls with eating disorders because they could relate. Just thought you guys would like hearing about this and wanted to share it with you!❤️
i'm super late to the party and just now going through all of your Harry Potter reactions and i LOVE THEM SO MUCH! Harry Potter is everything to me - the books and the movies. it is so fun and exciting watching your reactions, just like watching with friends who have never seen them
Appreciate the love and support!! We are happy you are enjoying the HP series with us! We are huge fans of HP since watching it and we love that we can create a new experience for people who have watched it before but watch along with us. Enjoy the rest!👏🏾
You see the stakes getting higher with each movie, and there are still 3 to go. Just wait till the end! I've loved watching your reactions, and what you pick up on (you guys are sharper than most reactors!). You're definitely asking the right questions!
Example of what I mean when I say sharper than most, you're the only reactors I've seen that picked up on the fact that Hermione was about to lead Umbridge to Gwapie :-)
Appreciate the love and support! We are so immersed in the HP series lol we are enjoying every bit of every movie so far. The stakes are getting higher and the movies are getting better and better 🧙🏿♂️
One thing I only now realized is that Harry, as teacher to his friends, found out who his close allies were: besides Hermione and Ron, Neville, Luna, Fred and George (of course), and ultimately Padma and Parvati Patil and Seamus (pron. "Shay-mus") Finnigan.
I love how they were so convinced Luna was related to the Malfoys in some way. 😆 And were so worried she'd be evil as much as they thought she was awesome. 😄
it's funny to hear yall opinions at the end. After reading the books & watching the movies countless times, this movie is still my favorite and i actually rate chamber of secrets deadlast lmao
@@DaKidsReact nah you're alright, they are all great movies nonetheless so it really comes down to personal preference. The only thing i really dislike about the movies compared to the books is how they wrapped it up at the end. So when you're all done and you did enjoy this franchise, i'd suggest you read the last book (even if its the last 100 pages). J.K Rowling really was cooking
In the book, Ron and Hermione were named head boy and head girl. That means that they were the 2 brightest witches/wizard in Griffindoor (Ron may have been after Harry but Dumbledoor in the book said that he didn't even consider Harry because he felt like Harry had too much on his plate to take on that responsibility.) They cannot mention this in the movies because, in the movies they have taken away almost all of Ron's good parts and giving them to Herminie making her, the ultimate Mary Sue and him one step above Mortemer Snerd.
If you think there was a lot going on in this believe me the book is even crazier. This movie had a different screenwriter than the others due to a schedule conflict with the other writer. It shows. We finally get some of the Ginny in the books and the casting for Umbridge was fantastic. Unfortunately a lot still had to be left out and he had to work around lead ups to stuff that was left out of previous movies. I still think he did a great job of adapting the important parts of the book. It also had a new director who would finish the rest of the movies. Again in the book there is a lot more explanation about Fred & George's highjinxs to irritate Umbridge. Also a lot more explanation about the bitter rivalry between Snape and James Potter. Snape was no innocent helpless victim in that situation. James was still a jerk and bully but Snape wasn't any better. *The Golden Trio: Harry, Ron & Hermione *The Silver Trio: Neville, Ginny & Luna Guys. Luna's last name is Lovegood and her father is still alive. Lucius is not her father. Not every silvery blonde haired person is a Malfoy. 😂 Dumbledore turned the glass shards into sand not water.
Lol Swizz thought he was up to something with the Luna and Lucius predictions 😂 but like you said I believe this was still done really well even though things have been left out from the book. We haven’t heard any complaints about the adaptation from book to movie and it’s usually the opposite when screenwriters leave out a lot of things from the original. HP series has been getting better and better!
@@DaKidsReact I have lots of complaints, starting with Azkaban (where they never explained the Marauder's Map -- among other omissions). I've been saving my complaints for the last three movies -- which cut out what I thought were critical points that changed what some characters did and said, or ignored what we already knew about them. For instance, I think it was in OOP that Ron and Hermione became Gryffindor's Head Boy and Head Girl, further isolating Harry from them. (Even previous movies made Ron seem like an imbecile but he couldn't become Head Boy without academic chops.) I think OOP was when they left out the Percy Weasley (previous Gryffindor Head Boy) sub-plot; they just dropped his character without explaining that he had "graduated" from Hogwarts and went to work for the Ministry. He supported Fudge in his denial of Voldy's return and became estranged from the family, creating sorrow for the entire family. Sorry. I said I was going to wait to complain but I got carried away.
Crazy but Amazing Fact: the actress who played Luna Lovegood opened up years ago that around 11 she was battling with an eating disorder and that when the novels for Harry Potter came out it helped her and she wrote to J.K. Rowling. They ended up being pen pals and J.K. Rowling told her what she was doing was destructive to her and that if she got healthy and started eating right she could come to audition for the role of Luna Lovegood since the actress connected with the character. Honestly, she is one of my favorite characters in the series and books and I can't picture anyone else playing her.
This entire time for over a decade, I've heard Robbie for Hagrid's half brother. I even saw the name here and said, they got it wrong and laughed...so I looked it up...wth! I'm still calling him Robbie, lol.
I love the reactions from you guys! Sometimes I forget how good the movies are because I’m so focused on all the ways they are different from the books. But regardless of these differences, the movies are still good, and watching people react to the movies helps remind me of that. After you guys finish watching the series, I recommend checking out “what went weird with Ron Weasley.” It’s a great video that gives more insight into the characters.
We appreciate you & are happy that you're enjoying our reactions! I (swizz) personally haven't read any books or manga for shows/movies BUT try to take them as individuals from one another & that may help! We are planning on doing the deleted scenes (many people recommended it & I believe that Is what it was called)
Finally you guys! ✨⚡️This is my favorite replay, I’ve rewatched this one so many times and glad to see you guys react to it 🫶🏾🫶🏾 You guys mentioned earlier how cool it is when they mix magic with regular muggle stuff and I totally agree with you, it’s one of my favorite things as well… I also love how (if you notice ) Harry still gets so excited about new things he sees in the wizard world, it gives you the amazing feeling of experiencing the moment with him ✨ I don’t know if it’s just me though haha, I just find it sweet when he’s genuinely smiling at magical stuff.. especially in these darker times smh 🤦🏾♀️ Can’t wait to see the next one! ⚡️🫶🏾 Ps. Hope you guys consider reacting to House of Usher one day! 🤞🏾😈
Happy to have you here w/ us on the HP journey! That’s something i (Swizz) noticed very early on was the magic in daily life. It gives a human feel to it & keeps us intrigued & excited to see what they add next. We have noticed that too especially knowing how life was like before he got sent to the school of wizardry we get that feeling watching knowing that’s how most people would be getting to experience that themselves. Watching Half blood prince this weekend & will have it up in 2 weeks😊🔥 We will DEFINITELY get to Fall of Usher after we finish up a few series! Next in the series will be Bly manor.
You guys are very smart. Smarter than me XD But i love seeing more people enjoying Harry Potter, that's always a good thing. It's a shame that so many people ignore this movies because they are "kids movies". I tell you, im 42, and this is my favorite saga. They are great movies, and they replaced other great sagas as my favorites. Like Back to the Future or Star Wars.
You guys aren't the only ones that say "damn this always happens to Harry or Neville". Something they don't mention in the film is that the prophecy could've pertained to either Harry or Neville. They were both born toward the end of July and had parents that fought Volemort and essentially died (Hary's parents physically but Neville's mentally, at least in my opinion). I, and many others, believe that He chose Harry because he saw a lot of similarities between each other; they were both halfboods, but while harry had loving parents Volemort didn't. I also think they were singled out because of Snape's and pettigrew's connection to lily.
You guys have the most interesting theories about the characters & where you think their stories will go. Love to hear your thoughts! You guys both picked up on so many details most reactors overlook so that was so cool to see y’all crack the code 😎 I love this one because of all the political nuance & parallels to today’s society & we see these patterns of the media feeding you what they want you to think when in reality it’s probably a false narrative & that’s how abuse of authority & power come into play & it’s always been that way & in the Harry Potter series we see how the government tries to not only control the public through the actual politics of their governmental structure, but the media & then they try & infiltrate the school (symbolizing educational institutions as a whole) which is how we get an overly controlled brainwashed society if you can control all three of those establishments & this is definitely some themes to be aware of for the future movies. Cannot wait to see y’all’s reaction to half blood prince, I’ll make sure I have my notifications on for your channel so I know when it drops!!
Appreciate the love and support!! The HP series has been so entertaining so far so we are fully immersed in it as we watch each movie. As we are entertained, we try our best to make sure you guys are getting the same type of experience watching our reactions. We are super happy you enjoyed it! Can’t wait to bring you guys the next one!! We are super excited but also getting kind of sad knowing we don’t have much more left of the HP series🧙🏿♂️🧙🏿♂️🧙🏿♂️
You're great on noticing details -- which is why I subscribed to your channel and why I unsubscribed from another channel that kept missing things because they were busy laughing and making idiotic jokes even after I told the they needed to start paying attention. (It took so long because I didn't find 2 brothers reacting to HP until I found you and I wanted to support my folx.) 1. In the book, it wasn't Cho who betrayed Dumbledore's Army. It was her friend (who is not a factor in the movies; maybe in the background?). But she was angry with Hermione for putting the spell on the DA list they signed so that the word "SNITCH" appeared on her friend's forehead. Harry defended Hermione and that contributed to their parting ways. 2. You will meet Draco's mother in the next movie. She is Bellatrix's sister -- Narcissus, which we learn in the book during the scene where Sirius shows Harry the family tree on the wall. They had another sister -- Andromeda -- who was burned off the family tree like Sirius was because she married a muggle (Ted Tonks). The woman whose hair keeps changing (Nymphadora Tonks) is their daughter. She is a metamorphmagus -- able to change her appearance at will and not with an enchantment like Sirius and the other Maurauders did to support Lupin. 3. You will meet Luna's father in #7. He publishes the magazine Luna was reading at the beginning of this movie -- the Quibbler. We learned in the book that his magazine became popular during this 5th year because, unlike the Daily Prophet newspaper, Lovegood believed that Voldy had returned and supported Harry & Dumbledore in his magazine. 4. The Hogwarts caretaker Mr. Filch (not Finch or Flinch) is a squib. So is Mrs. FIgg. A squib is born into a magical family but has no magic. But they're not muggles, who are people without magic but from a non-magical (muggle) family. Because squibs come from magical families they can see dementors while muggles cannot . In the books we learned that because he's a squib, Filch feels inadequate among all those witches and wizards. But he greatly desires to be magical and, I think, he like being around magic. When Umbridge comes on as the person in charge at Hogwarts, he does what he can to keep in her good graces. It's clear -- from how she treats the centaurs -- that she has animosity towards not only children but also adults who are not witches or wizards. 5. Hermione's parents are muggles but Hermione is a witch because she has magical powers. Harry is called half-blood because one of his parents was born into a magical family (James) and one is not (Lily). These distinctions becomes significant in #7. 6. So glad you are learning to respect Ginny as a powerful witch. The movies did not do justice to her character and this Is the only movie where they let her character shine a bit. There is more about her in the books. Her arc won't surprise you if you read the book. The Weasleys are the closest Harry comes to family, I think, and Mrs. Weasley epitomizes that for us. She's the mother an orphan dreams of having. The fact that she and Mr. Weasley were founding members of the Order of the Phoenix should have clued us in about Ginny's potential.
We are grateful for your support & happy you’ve enjoyed our reaction💙 THANK YOU, for explaining these things for us. People are continuously saying that the distinction from the books to movies are big & us not reading the books but reading the comments gives us that idea in a smaller fashion. We appreciate you for this💙
While I could see the reasons for them chopping down the scene where the Ministry try to arrest Dumbledore: likely in the interest of not showing his dueling skill until the later fight with Voldemort.... I still sorta wish they were more faithful to the book here. It goes more like the Jedi trying to arrest Darth Sideous in "Revenge of the Sith"; Dumbledore is outnumbered like 5 to 1: and duels Umbridge, the Minister, and several Aurors at the same time (including Kingsley, who says "You can't deny, Dumbledore's got style" in the book too). Defeats all of them so fast that Harry can barely tell what happened, then grabs Fawkes and disappears.
@@DJLawrence Been ages since I read the book, thanks for the refresher. Although I remember him having to make it look convincing that he beat Kingsley to keep his cover in the Ministry... I don't remember McGonagall helping. It would make sense that she would, but from my recollection, she's still teaching at the school for some time after Dumbledore departs, and I don't see why Fudge and Umbridge would allow that if she helped Dumbledore fight and escape...?
@@drayman101 Everyone focused on Dumbledore, Kingsley helped wipe the memory of Cho's friend to keep from snitching further, McGonagall I want to say shot a spell off but maybe she didn't. I know she definitely grabbed Harry and Cho's friend to duck out of the way
As soon as you said you hope nothing happens to Sirius I cried because it’s just the worst. 😢😢 Everyone says it, but y’all are amazing at picky up the slightest details! Y’all should read the books or listen on Audible. It’ll really bring the movies to life.
Death eaters in graveyard Crab & goyle draco's body guard parents McNair - executioner that was going to kill buckbeat. Lucios draco's father Peter aka wormtail
Also as if you didn’t need another reason to loathe Umbridge…they do not say this in the movie but in the books she was the one who sent the dementors on Harry at the beginning. Makes her comment in the courtroom where she sounds all annoyingly pretentious & condescending “so silly of me but it sounded as though the ministry ordered the attack on this boy” even more hypocritical & aggravating.
Umbridge is definitely hated by everyone lol she definitely made an impact on this movie tho. We were so happy to see what happened to her at the end of the movie 😂
They nerfed my boy Dumbledore, here they made him seem like he was outmatched a little bit and was struggling against Voldy, in the books it was quite the opposite, he was actually scarily calm and composed when he was battling Voldy and HE was the one trying to keep up with Dumbledore.
I think we also thought the same thing. Dumbledore is praised so much we thought that even with Voldy coming back it wouldn’t rattle him. But that guy Voldy is persistent gotta give it to him. This movie was fire👏🏾
The other schools of wizardry were from across the globe, Yes, there are others in the UK but Hogwarts is the most popular and others are smaller, not even named
So Nymphadora Tonks is a really cool character, she has a bigger role in the books but sadly in the movies she's kinda a filler character, anyway just for context for you guys she's a Hufflepuff and an Auror, she's Moody's protégé and she's a metamorphmagus which is a rare skill among wizards and it means they can change their appearance at will, they are born with it so they can't learn it (like animagus). She goes by Tonks because she hates her name her mother gave her (thats why she gets mad when Moody calls her that) She's Sirius cousin because her mom, Andromeda, is Bellatrix's sister and their other sister, Narcissa, is Draco's mom. In the books, Sirius calls Andromeda his favorite cousin because they were the only ones that didn't support the dark arts and both were estranged from the Black family; Andromeda also married a muggle born so Tonks is a half blood. Don't worry this is not a spoiler this was omitted in the movies and Andromeda doesn't exist as a character but you will see Narcissa eventually, a lot of non readers don't even realize Sirius and Draco are related because it's barely explained and difficult to catch if you didn't read the books.
oh and btw! they didn't explain this in the movie either but it was Umbridge who sent the dementors to Privet Drive just because she wanted to get Harry in trouble and make him look like a fool to discredit him
Appreciate all the great info! We would have definitely not known this from just watching the movie. Tonks caught our eyes as soon as the movie started, she does seem like a really enjoyable character. Wish we would have gotten more of her this movie but can’t wait to bring you guys the next one!!
You guys are picking up on things very few people do. It’s refreshing to see because a lot of reactors miss a lot of these details 😅
We are happy you enjoyed our reaction! We try our best to catch as much as we possibly can during our reactions to everything we watch
Well they skipped this so they already know what happens in the next
@@PR7-82Either way, they're perceptive since the beginning.
I agree about this immensely, it makes me so happy 😂 It can be irritating watching so many different TH-camrs reacting to Harry Potter and not noticing certain things. I'm over here saying, Finally!
@ImJasonD
100% true!
@@OphepheVanessa James did change tho. That's why Lily finally gave him a chance, and that's why he became headboy. This is cannon lore
Nice job guys
Also, Luna is such a good character. The story behind the actress is also incredible. Evanna Lynch (Luna) had an eating disorder when she was only 12 years old, and she wrote to JK Rowling (author of Harry Potter) and BECAME PEN PALS WITH HER. She told JK she loved her books because "her books and her kindness really made me want to live again."
2 years later, she auditioned for Luna (without any prior professional acting experience) and landed the role, and THIS is what we got.
"nobody ever crazy, you don't know what they went thru/going thru" 😭😭😭
💯 Facts, thank you ❤
Once you grow up, it’s easy to understand that. Something that helped me (Swizz) understand that growing up was watching Naruto & learning about Itachi, Naruto, Sasuke, Gaara, obito, etc (if you know about Naruto this will make sense)
Exactly what I was about to say!
1:02:45 Snape knew exactly what that meant, pretended he didn't know and didn't care so Umbridge didn't interrogate him. The only reason the Order of the Phoenix was there at the Ministry to save the gang was because Snape told them what Harry said. No one knew what was happening.
We didn’t piece that together at the end! S/O to that boy Snape🔥
Luna's dad, Xenophilius Lovegood, is basically Lucius Malfoy dipped in wholesome oddness, sprinkled with healthy dose paranoia, and (probably) smoking some very good ish 🌿
Haha true! Xenophilius is a bit crazy, but he is a good man. I like the Lovegoods 😊
(r.i.p Pandora Lovegood, Luna's mom 😢)
You guys were the only reactors that understood my favorite fellow Ravenclaw so quickly... Luna!
She is wise beyond her years... and every intuitive!!!
LOVED having her in this movie!
I think it works better that they muted it.
that's not true at all.
Don't let her hair color mislead you guys, even though Luna is in Ravenclaw, she's as loyal as a Huffy to the Griffy squad..👍😉
She was a GREAT ADDITION to this movie💙
@@DaKidsReact She never acted before this movie. Very impressive performance.
The dementors are so creepy, especially in theory. They literally suck all of your happiness and most special memories out of you until there's nothing left except your absolute most horrifying, darkest and most depressing memories and feelings unto there's nothing left. Really scary and depressing when you think about that.
Welcome to the real world disease called "depression"
You gotta love how when the Twins rode out of the OWLS testing room they literally broke all the rules.
One of the best scenes during the movie! If it was gonna be anybody, it was gonna be them🤣
J. K. Rowling, the author of the books said at one point she considered killing Arthur Weasley in this book. But there were very few decent fathers plus she loved the character so she could not kill him, she let him live.
Everyone hates Umbridge with a passion
1000% PASSION BEHIND IT
To the point where many of us hated her more than we hated Voldemort. 😳
Honestly worse than Voldemort.
That's why we adore the actress. Master at bringing a character like that to life and stay believable.
@@Lakross101 oh yeah
"this probably my favorite one" - the proper reaction after every single HP movie lol. no flops all bangers. you guys bring the energy/focus so easy to each react. excited for the final 3 movies. Got my 3hrs in today watching both uploads legooooo
Appreciate the love!!! Can’t wait to bring you guys those reactions 🧙🏿♂️
In the books, the sign up sheet titled 'Dumbledore's Army' , was enchanted by Hermione to detect and identify anyone who betrayed the D.A. - the betrayer would break out in boils that spelled 'Sneak' across his or her face.
I forgot about that!
@@DaKidsReact I hadn't really clocked that, but it's true -- she's a really calm/calming presence.
The last movies don't disappoint!
Voldamort put a spell/ jinx on his name, so whoever said it - the death eaters could find. That is why they didn't say his name.
He who must not be named!
Not yet though, that doesn’t happen till Deathly Hallows. They thought it would be a good way to catch members of the Order since no one else was bold enough to say it.
@lyds6382
That is why they don't say his name- past - last order
@@lyds6382it was that way before he disappeared. It became the same after he gained his strength
@@melissacampbell2648 She definitely played her role perfectly & I KNOW YOU GOT SOME SIDE EYE GOING AS HER🤣
In the book Hermione had enchanted the parchment for the Dumbledore's Army sign up sheet.
“Nobody’s ever crazy, you just don’t know what they’re going through” 😭 love you guys!!!
You never know! We appreciate you & much love💙
Ugh yes that got me crying
You will meet Luna's father in deathly hallows and he looks like her! Draco is related to: the Weasleys (distantly), Sirius (his mum's cousin), Nyphadora Tonks (his cousin), Bellatrix (his aunt) and Andromeda (aunt; not in the films). Everyone with the surname Black was in Slytherin except Sirius. There are 'good' Slytherins, you'll meet one as a teacher next film.
Lunas and ravenclaw 😂 and her dad is the total opposite of Lucius !🤣
Harry's weapon isn't love. Love is what stopped Harry from dying when he was a baby when his mother sacrificed herself for him. The weapon the prophecy was talking about comes in much later on, even though it was in front of us since the first film.
Thank you for explaining this for us & EXCITED to watch Half Blood Prince this week & get it to you all in a week!
1:14:50 voldemort with the strongest spell in the HP world. 'NYYAAAAAH' 😂
Don't forget the pose 🤭
Different screen writer for this one which portrays Ginny more like book Ginny: It won't last as the old writer returns! In the books Nevil breaks his wand (his dad's wand) and it is replaced by a custom made one. Nevil's magic improves now onwards.
25:36 Fuel to hate Umbridge more cause she's actually evil:
this part was dialed down for the movies from the book and they leave it a little more vague so it's not quite as graphic but the reason the 'ink' Harry is writing with is red is because it's not ink, it's his blood.
Umbridge was sabotaging everything! Lol definitely was cool having her character introduced into the series tho.
“Dumbledore too old”
Dumbledore: bet hold my cup!

OMG I THOUGHT THE SAME THING 😮 That movie is kinda underrated 😂
This battle is where all the time turner got destroyed, together with the crystal balls.
1:13:12 when Voldemort says "you've got to mean it" this is literal. In the books it's kinda explained that casting any of the 3 unforgivable curses cannot be done without having full intent. If you say 'crucio' but you don't really have it in your heart to torture someone or you don't really have murder in you etc. then the spell won't work anyway. someone on a subreddit a while ago explained it well:
"... And the fact it worked meant you did it with pure and clear intention - the intention to murder someone."
That's why it didn't work for Harry as he didn't really mean it.
That makes so much sense. That you for explaining that for us🙏🏾💙
I wouldn’t look up head cannons until you guys have finished the series but one I can say without spoiling anything is when Draco looks into the mirror we see in the first movie he sees himself with Harry Ron and hermoine

1:24:00 as someone who’s favorite HP film is Chamber of Secrets that did put a big ass smile on my face
YES! Different aspects of nature that the Ministry tried to study forever like time, love, death, space, etc. It was a crazy sequence
Finallyyyyyy ❤ Great video guys!!!!
We appreciate you😊💙
@@DaKidsReactyou guys are the best!!! PLEASE watch Harry Potter 20th Anniversary special when you’re done with the movies!!! ❤❤❤
I mean it wasn't a rivalry. It was 4 against 1 and they tortured Snapes and almost killed him
@DaKidsReact James was the good man everyone bragged about AND he was the bully who Snapes hated deeply. The same could be said for Sirus, which is why they were close. I like the complexity of the characters.
Young Dumbledore could be in this grey category too.
@@OphepheVanessaSnape gave to James/Sirius as much as he took, minus the almost visit Lupin while transforming part
"Do it though" lmaooooo i just found yall recently and im loving your guys reactions lately
we had to put up with teachers like these, it's very true to our experiences, those of our age anyway, still had capitol punishment in my day. You guys are so decent it's great to watch your reactions.🥰
I think Malfoy's mum's maiden name might be Black. She's Serious's cousin.
She was and had two sisters named Andromeda and bellatrix black
Not might, it is
Luna is a real one, i love her. She's so loyal, free spirited and down to earth.
BEST addition to the HP series💙
These guys are too cool and funny. Vibes all video long.
The actual breakdowns are so appreciated.
Love your reactions guys! Appreciate you 🙏
We appreciate you💙
One thing I only now realized is that Harry, as teacher to his friends, found out who his close allies were: besides Hermione and Ron, Neville, Luna, Fred and George (of course), and ultimately Padma and Parvati Patil and Seamus (pron. "Shay-mus") Finnigan.
I love how they were so convinced Luna was related to the Malfoys in some way. 😆 And were so worried she'd be evil as much as they thought she was awesome. 😄
Luna is a girl! lol we couldn’t get past the hair tho😂
When they found the DA it was Ron’s brother Percy yanking Harry into the office.
it's funny to hear yall opinions at the end. After reading the books & watching the movies countless times, this movie is still my favorite and i actually rate chamber of secrets deadlast lmao
Dead last for COS IS CRAZY to me (swizz)! But as we continue through the series i can see why now lol
Snape is my favorite. I have his wand.
They were prefects, Head Boy/Girl is 7th year stuff.
*The Golden Trio: Harry, Ron & Hermione
*The Silver Trio: Neville, Ginny & Luna
Guys. Luna's last name is Lovegood and her father is still alive. Lucius is not her father. Not every silvery blonde haired person is a Malfoy. 😂
Dumbledore turned the glass shards into sand not water.
@@DaKidsReact oh you'll hear a *lot* of complaints about the adapting of the next one but I can keep it to myself if you prefer. 😉
@@shirleydurr411 Head boy/Girl is 7th years stuff. Ron/Hermione were prefects only
LOVE your reactions! Can’t wait to see more! Much love from Lake Cumberland Kentucky !
We appreciate you & your support! MUCH LOVE💙
Wow this is amazing! Thank you for sharing this with us, makes us love Luna even more!
Funny thing is, Umbridge was the one sending the dementors against Harry.
This entire time for over a decade, I've heard Robbie for Hagrid's half brother. I even saw the name here and said, they got it wrong and laughed...so I looked it up...wth! I'm still calling him Robbie, lol.
Love this channel, you guys are really getting into it. Good work!

Hands down best reactors on youtube!!!!
We appreciate you & this💙 Next movie coming sometime next week
like they r so entertaining and their invested interest/attention is quite satisfying to watch
✨⚡️This is my favorite replay, I’ve rewatched this one so many times and glad to see you guys react to it 🫶🏾🫶🏾
You guys mentioned earlier how cool it is when they mix magic with regular muggle stuff and I totally agree with you, it’s one of my favorite things as well… I also love how (if you notice ) Harry still gets so excited about new things he sees in the wizard world, it gives you the amazing feeling of experiencing the moment with him ✨ I don’t know if it’s just me though haha, I just find it sweet when he’s genuinely smiling at magical stuff.. especially in these darker times smh 🤦🏾♀️
Can’t wait to see the next one! ⚡️🫶🏾
Ps.
Next in the series will be Bly manor.
cannot wait for your next HP reaction!!
Should be up sometime next week by Friday-Sunday💙
You guys are very smart. Smarter than me XD But i love seeing more people enjoying Harry Potter, that's always a good thing. It's a shame that so many people ignore this movies because they are "kids movies". I tell you, im 42, and this is my favorite saga. They are great movies, and they replaced other great sagas as my favorites. Like Back to the Future or Star Wars.
Draco Malfoy's parents are married. His mother is Narcissa Malfoy married to Lucius Malfoy. Luna's father is Xenophilius Lovegood.
48:53 Oh boy... I know I'm not looking forward to the end of this reaction 💔
Dumbledore's names are from different era of British history Brian being the newest =)
(It took so long because I didn't find 2 brothers reacting to HP until I found you and I wanted to support my folx.)
We appreciate you for this💙
Yessss let's goooo! 🎉
🧙🏿♂️🧙🏿♂️🧙🏿♂️
Kingsley and McGonagall helped. But Dumbledore stuns Kingsley to keep his cover right after
@@DJLawrence Been ages since I read the book, thanks for the refresher.
Everyone says it, but y’all are amazing at picky up the slightest details!
Y’all should read the books or listen on Audible. It’ll really bring the movies to life.
Death eaters in graveyard
Crab & goyle draco's body guard parents
McNair - executioner that was going to kill buckbeat.
Lucios draco's father
Peter aka wormtail
Very smart and observant reaction. Why is she laughing? 😅😅😅😅
Finally 🎉 lol love you guys
Had to reupload! Much love💙😊
👵🏻👍🏻♥️
You hate umbridge in the movies. Shes so much worse in the books. I wanted to hop in the book and beat some a** lmao
😂😂😂
I call her Dolores Umbish (you know the word) 😂😂😂
Can’t imagine bc the movie had us ready to jump through the screen🤣
@@DaKidsReactsame. Every time she did that little giggle I wanted to reach through the screen and throttle her.
I know these scruffy' not talking about looks 😂😂😂
We can start grinding send a picture of yourself🤣
Luna and Draco are cousins, Xenophilius is Lucius’ brother
In the book dumbledore dominated that magical fight against voldi....
