Great reaction. Yes, you are correct. Andrew does not regress. Hence why he talks about dying as a good man and doesn't respond to "Teddy". He would rather have them lobotomize him and not have to live with the immense guilt he feels for killing his wife and not getting her the help she needed which lead to the death of his children.
- He suffered from PTSD and that's what all the flashbacks were. - The rats at the cave, the "real Rachel", the fire in the cave, the entire conversation,, the entire scene was a hallucination. - The interaction with George Noyce was real and George was trying to help him. George knows Andrew's personal circumstances because they are patients together in ward C. - The blood from shooting Dr Cawley at the lighthouse was a hallucination. - He really was insane but at the end he snapped out of it but decided to pretend to still be insane so he could be lobotomised so he doesn't have to live as a monster. Literally the best movie about schizophrenia and psychosis I have watched. Great reaction from you guys, enjoyed the video a lot.
Sneaky movie, but you guys had a lot figured out early on, in bits and pieces. The timeline as it’s presented makes it difficult to follow, but you Guys are SHARP. Fun to watch. Thanks. ✌️
A-minorrrrrr 🤣🎶 But fr my favorite part of this film is knowing Leo actually came through in the end and actually hadn’t relapsed. He pretended to still be hooked on his marshal character, knowing they would lobotomize him; he couldn’t live with the truth, knowing the fate of his family. So he killed himself, shit is so dark.
Super dark at the end but an amazing spin that you couldn’t see coming! Shutter Island scrambled our brains for a while but so happy we jumped into it 👏🏾
This has a great ending but easy to understand, Inception is still a mystery though, but I think it was Cobb being incepted so he could get over/release Mal?
This is the most enjoyable reaction video I've seen. Both guys are very sharp and were catching all the clues. I was going back and forth whether he was a US Marshall until the end, too. I've watched this movie several times since. I love it. It's not the same, though, because I know he's crazy. It was enjoyable to see these two guys watch it. They were sharp and funny. Good video.
This is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen and I tell everyone to watch it. You guys didn’t recognize the warden. He played buffalo bill in silence of the lambs. Ted Levine is his name. And the woman in the cave wasn’t real. That was part of Andrew’s delusions cause he wasn’t being medicated as part of the hospital’s experiment with him. She was in his head. I love watching people discover the truth at the end. They are always so shocked.
The story itself keeps you guessing. No shame in admitting you're wrong. It would be a shame otherwise. You both are very smart and intuitive. Love your reactions❤🎉.
No everything the doctor was saying was right…Andrew believed he couldn’t live with what he had done with his wife and him believing he’s the reason she dead and the kids so he chose to do the procedure and act like he regressed.
Another very good reaction from Da Kids. You guys were like the rest of us, we thought we had it all figured out, until the end. I really enjoy you "Kids" analyzing and discussing the things you react to. There was a lot of talk about escaping from the island. Well, I have another "island" movie for you. It's called Papillon, it stars Steve McQueen and Dusting Hoffman. You may not be familiar with their names but at one time they were huge stars. R.I.P. Steve McQueen. Oh, Papillon is base on a true story.
@DaKidsReact the last line Leo's character says blew me away. I caught the meaning on the second watch. Thanks again "Kids" for the entertainment and education you share with us.
I initially thought too that the imaginary firebug version of Laedis was played by Christopher Meloni, but it's actually Elias Koteas, who was also in the original live action Ninja Turtles movie as Casey Jones, as well as having a very brief part in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. They really do look alike.
Yeah he could NOT deal with reality. He needed his memory completely wiped. All those efforts before they'd finally give up, and give him a lobotomy. In the lighthouse. Fantastic watching both of you with this. Fascinating and fun. And, 105:43 He sure did!!! That same scene is what fks me up every time I watch this. Him holding those dead kids Lhm. Leo is awesome. And Scorsese is brilliant. (I had to come finish this just now) Y'all def need to ck out Scorsese's "Gangs of New York" omg. Un-fkg-believable.
Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece of a movie. It's one of my favourite. You might also be interested in watching the movie "Beautiful mind" with Russell Crow. It is based on a true life story of a renowned scientist.
Great movie and honestly my favorite Scorsese movie but I think I'm in the minority. I just really like the creepy suspense mystery of the whole thing and that the viewer is trying to figure out what's going on just like the main character is. That scene at the end where he finds his kids messes me up every time, it's no wonder he would have a mental break after something like that. I wouldn't want to think that really happened to me either. He was already dealing with being a soldier in the war and all the trauma that came from that. I don't blame him for choosing the surgery in the end.
Best part of this movie for me is the fact that you still don't know. Maybe they did drug him for asking questions. Maybe he was crazy. I still wonder to this day.

We appreciate you💙 was sad to see that scene. He went through a lot from the war & then coming home to that happening
In the book he does regress into teddy. In the movie he’s sane. That line was added to the movie, imo making it better.
Love this movie, it's one of those that you want to watch again right after to see all the little hints and clues.
100%!

When I first saw this movie I believed her in the cave I thought that was the story until the truth came out
Killed us at the end w/ that😅

That’s what life is all about! Being able to admit your faults opening, much love & thank you for your support💙
I love the "I'm looking everybody". That would have been how I felt. I'm getting off that island.
Lmao definitely getting off that island, there was too much going on😂
Highly recommend another great suspense/psychological movie, The Talented Mr. Ripley! Criminally underrated. Oscar nominated.
Yesss! one of my favorite movies!
TOP 10 MOVIE FOR US!
I enjoy your reaction videos. Thank you.
We appreciate you💙
The surgery used to be common in mental hospitals. A lobotomy. It leaves the person functioning but sort of childlike.
Best react to this movie I seen.. you guys caught on to a lot
Appreciate the love!! We tried to stay along with the story as best as we could but it was difficult 😂

Might have to find some space on the schedule for that! Heard a lot of great things about that movie.

Top tier movie.
And you guys understood it.
Top tier neo-noir mystery thriller!
he chose to go back to his made up story and die as a good man, he didn't want to live in the world knowing he is a monster
That was a ride right!? Love you guys, be good.
Much love to you & we DID NOT expect that!

It’s ok this is my fav Scorsese film. This and the depart are the best films I’ve seen in the last 20 years.
Beautiful performance by Leo. IMO he pretends to regress at the end because he wants the lobotomy, he doesn’t want to live with his memories.
Best part of this movie for me is the fact that you still don't know. Maybe they did drug him for asking questions. Maybe he was crazy. I still wonder to this day.

funny how you guys regressed right along with andrew in the end lol

He didn’t regress, he wanted to die or forgot about what he did. At the end he said “would it be better to die a good man, or live a bad person”
please watch THE NINTH GATE!!!
Fun fact there is no storm the entire time, thats just a representation of dudes mind as he gets more and more chaotic
