@DaKidsReact you should check out the imaginarium of Dr parnassus. It was deaths last movie he did that he actually wasn't able to finish because he passed.
The semi truck flip was real, no cgi or fakery. Christopher Nolan loves real effects in his movies. In “Tenet” he really blew up a big-ass 747. Dude is for real.
Yeah, that was after the digital effects company hired to do the truck flip spent 100s of man hours on it, only for Nolan to decide he wanted to go practical after all. The company weren't paid for the unused shot, even though it was complete. Things like that really make me hate Hollywood at times.
Joker telling different stories about his past is a reference to the comic Batman: The Killing Joke. In it, Joker provides a tragic explanation for how he turned to life of crime and went insane. But afterwards, he recants his story and admits that he doesn't truly remember. He ultimately says, "If I were to have an origin story, I prefer it to be multiple choice." It highlights Joker's unpredictability and how nothing he says can be trusted.
The best theories states that he did likely grow up in an abusive home, joined the military and became a black ops specialist, he received his scars in a war zone, which may be referenced when he says no one bats an eye at a truck full of soldiers being blown up. His skills all line up with someone trained in the military, and his lack of ID may mean he had his records hidden. Not saying it's true, but it is an interesting idea.
Yup. Although there is one part that is most likely 100% truth because even Batman remembers it as he was there and caused it by accident. It was that the guy, who Joker originally was, was wearing the Red Hood mask and who fell into the vat of chemicals which finally messed him up for good. But what happened before and what led into the person into wearing that mask and be there is unknown.
We totally agree. Like we said during the reaction, he is so irrational and does things on a whim. So whatever feels right to him in the moment is what is done.
In comics Joker himself said he made up so many stories of his origin he forgot which one is real. So no he doesn't remember what his origin story was. Heath killed the role, amazing performance ❤️🔥
There's a fan theory that Joker is a military veteran and endured so much psychological warfare that's all he knows now. His whole plan is to seem random.
And, afaik, the trigger failing, prompting the Joker to turn and go "wtf", was not scripted. He missed the timing and improvised to save the only take they had.
You can tell: it's impossible to actually fully recreate those real sounds of rock and metal and fire. Nolan is the best at in-camera effects. Almost every time, it looks better to use real sets and miniatures than even the best CGI (though high-quality make-up and puppets, etc. has been remarkable since at least the 1980s). (Having said that, I'm weirdly pro-early CGI such as with Star Wars 1. It's not great, but it was early, so it's unreasonable to demand any better -- some of it could have been done in-camera, but a lot of CGI is actually required. For this reason, you don't see much truly insane with Nolan other than a few moments, and he has used some CGI, but he tries not to, and never uses digital film, to my knowledge. His high-quality film (of many mm) means that the final look is extremely high-quality at any res, though digital cameras are now high-quality.)

Michael Cain who played Alfred brilliantly, first saw Heath Ledger in Joker make up at the party for Harvey Dent when he walked out of the elevator. He was so scared and startled when Joker walked in that he forgot his line. That's one example of how incredible Heath's performance of Batman's arch nemesis was...
Heath Ledger's Joker is some of the best acting I have ever seen and I am an avid movie watcher. Rarely does someone encompass a character like Heath did with the Joker.
The Joker was supposed to be the villain for the third movie, but Heath Ledger died before this one was even in theaters, and they thought it would be disrespectful to re-cast him. So, for the third movie they just don't mention The Joker. They did manage to create a very good villain for that movie as well, but it's hard to watch this movie and not want to see more Heath Ledger as Joker.
Ledger was so good, and this movie ended so well, I would've had zero complaints if Nolan never made a third one. I think Rises is the weakest of the trilogy but it's still a really good movie and I love Tom Hardy's portrayal of that movie's villain. Still, if they had ended it here, it would've been a great ending for the story.
Michael Caine was supposed to have a line when Joker burst into the fundraiser. Apparently, he was so caught off guard by Ledger's performance that he just forgot.
I think most people on their first watch forget that Lao is on top of the pile of money when Joker burns it, so nice catch there. I watched the movie multiple times, and I don't think I caught it until I saw someone point it out online. People I've mentioned that to didn't catch it either and I don't think I've seen another Dark Knight reaction video where the reactor notices it.

So I definitely believe that he was just trying to prove who was actually less moral, the civilians or the prisoners. You’d think the civilians because their option to kill is criminals but that would make them all complicit to a mass murder.
Alfred's speech at 28:22 speaks to a lot of people not only within our American culture in the streets but to humanity as a whole throughout history. People become so traumatized, convinced that they have nothing left to lose, and live to hurt the world while they're still here if not survive long enough to be given lifelong prison sentences for it. Even when it comes to somewhat known up to famous rappers, it takes only one anything to see a whole crash out, and that's human behavior all the way when nothing to lose becomes a reality.

12:22 The perfect irony of the Spawn calling the Joker a Freak. If you haven’t seen the Spawn, add it to your list of Comic Book Movies. I guess Spawn is like the Punisher Deadpool Hancock Venom type of anti-hero but he was the first black lead cast of comic book films that I saw.
Fun fan theory about the Joker's backstory: he's an Iraq war veteran, specifically spec ops specializing in intel and interrogation, wounded by an IUD. He preaches chaos, but is very tactical, precise, knowledgeable in multiple weapons and defense tactics, and many other clues. The cherry on top is the line at 48:17 "never start with the victims head it gets all fuzzy and they can't feel the next..*hand slam*" which sounds more like someone with training in the matter instead of a serial killer. "When a truck load of soldiers get's blow up in iraq NOBODY freaks out...because its all part of the plan" and his knowledge of the manual of arms at the funeral are also indicators of military training that not just anyone would know the timing of.
After many years I realized joker says “don’t start with the head the victim gets all fuzzy” He purposely mixes up the addresses, proving the point of hitting the head first.

1:01:38 During this scene the explosives used started to malfunction, behind the cameras the crew kept trying to set them off but they kept failing to do so. Instead of yelling Cut and doing the scene again Heath improv-ed flicking and smacking the fake detonator switch until they finally went off and the rest of the scene could play out.
@@DaKidsReactso much of this was ledger improving. The interrogation scene even had him tell Christian Bale (Batman) to throw him around as hard as he could mocking him till he did it, that's why you see the chunks of the set falling apart
Not true. This is an urban legend. The sequence went exactly like planed. It was rehearsed thoroughly because it involved Ledger being close to explosions. First set of explosions was purely stunt explosions for camera so Joker can walk out of the building, but still, Ledger had few pieces in his hair. Then was the pause, so everyone knew the stunt was over and real demolition is about to happen. First part of demolition was still a stunt and second faze took the building down. The only improvised moment was him fiddling with the controller.

Hey nice reactions man. Just gotta say this real quick because a lot of reactors don't seem to pick up on this. In the first Movie Alfred pretty much tells Bruce, that if he does not want people to suspect him being Batman, he should act more like people would expect a billionaire to behave - meaning all the expenisce cars, boats and women are just an Act Bruce pools off to be seen as an eccentric billionaire, that would never fight crime for the people at night. It's when Alfred says something along the lines off: ''If you start pretending to have a little fun, you may actually get any'' And its also refrenced when Bruce meats Rachel the first time after coming back when he says : ''All this... It's not me.... I am more.'' And Rachel answers with the pretty famous quote: ''It's not who we are underneath, but what we do that defines us.''
it might have been Heath Ledger's last role in film, but damn did he knock that shit out of the park. i remember being young and not knowing him, so i had no opinion of him being cast as the joker. it was wonderful to see with fresh eyes. this was a favored memory of my childhood that reminds me - fun trivia for film details. around 32:52 the window springs open, and the sniper shoots the opening blinds, but another gun in the 21-gun salute fires a live round, right at that window. there are two sets of sparks, basically a primed weapon in the Joker's hand. takes immense planning to even think of that sort of thing
Fun fact: Whilst filming the scene where The Joker crashes Dent's party, some pyrotechnics malfunctioned and set fire to Maggie Gyllenhaal's dress. Heath ended up throwing himself on top of her to put out the flames.
Little known fun fact, according to Bob Kane the original creator of Batman "The Joker" throughout all the comic issues, shows, movies, cartoons, even video games and specials "Like the Killing Joke"(HIGHLY RECOMMEND BTW)..., but through everything The joker doesn't actually have an origin story not a real one, he constantly changes his origin story, sometimes it is made to seem as if he was so mentally and psychologically tortured and damage that he's incapable of remembering his real origin to trauma, in other instances is it very much seems as if he's purposely just screwing around with people or doctors who are attempting to psychoanalyze him. Regardless his actual Origin and how he got his scars or his facial deformities / disfigurement, depending on which version you are watching or reading, always changes and they've been pretty clear it's going to stay that way no one will actually know where or how the joker became what he is beyond a rumor. Which I'm sorry maybe I'm alone but I think that is so hard
No sure if true. Sounds true. Around 26:30 when he grabbed her face. I heard that wasn't in the script. And she was looking over at the Director because she was confused. And he turned her face to look at him. Heath Ledger man. 😯
Potentially already posted in other comment, but Heath Ledger is actually in the scene where Bruce, Rachel, and Harvey have dinner together. Behind Bruce is the back of a man’s head with wavy brown hair right at the next table. The joker was having dinner in the same restaurant while also tailing Harvey Dent closely. Batman and the Joker were back to back and never even knew it

That end gets me too, fellas. The "Dark Knight" Joker is the best version, solely because of Heath Ledger's performance. Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan are a perfect pairing (Director and Composer).
Also probably contributed to his demise, along with the medicine/drug coctails he was taking. His health, physical and mental, was a probably a mess after this movie.
@MaaZeus The drugs got him, not this. The rest of the cast and crew were very adamant that Heath was himself off camera. He wasn't putting himself in some dark place, he was playing a part and knew when to flip the switch. The idea that the Joker role "killed" Heath Ledger is entirely false.
i remeber i saw this in theatres and i accidently had waaaay too much chiplotle and had to poop but didnt want to leave but i did and i missed the part where they arrested harvey but i came back in time for the truck flip. Probably, but if he wants to prove a point to others then it would be better if only one ship blows and and he could point the finger and say "see!?". If they both blow up then he has hard time convincing anyone on his way of thinking. More likely the detonator was for the ship it is in and he lied about it. Not only one ship blowing up would prove his point he can get a good laugh about karma being a bitch. 😁

Omg YAY! I'm glad this is up!! You guys are the best!! I hope you're feeling better, Swizz!!!
I like it
enjoying yalls commentary REAL ASS questions being asked
We appreciate you & much love!
First time watching you guys… subscribed.
44:05: “he love it like chaos”
I smiled at the foreshadow that you didn’t even know yet was coming 😊
@@dustinboucher8102 happy you enjoyed!!! Hope you enjoy more of the content we have on the channel 👏🏾
Since Batman vanished after Dent died, it would be easy for Gotham folks to believe that Dent was telling the truth when he claimed he was the Batman.
Very true I guess we didn’t look at it that way🤔
No, lol. Batman was literally seen helping the convoy. Your theory makes ZERO sense 🤣
This movie so effing good and the ending is one of the best ever. I walked outta the theater like “holy shit”, and that’s rare for me.
The goat reactors are back with a banger. Lets go gang
After many years I realized joker says “don’t start with the head the victim gets all fuzzy”
He purposely mixes up the addresses, proving the point of hitting the head first.
43:45 Excellent use of the shepherd scale for the sound effect of the Batpod.
I really don't have any movies to suggest for you to watch, I just enjoy the reactions to the movies you do watch. I forgot how much fun I had going to the theatre with my sons to see this. We love a talented villain. RIP Heath Old Musician From Seattle
Appreciate the love and support, that is what we enjoy most about making these reactions. We are able to create or brush up on feelings that many people felt when watching this for the first time.🖤 love from da kids🔥
Batman really became Itachi Uchiha at the end lol
New to the channel. I love this triology and this was a great reaction to TDK. I'm not sure I've seen anyone else suspect he switched the addresses. Definitely gonna check out more of y'alls content.
*Heath Ledger in my mind was/is the best cinematic Joker, it's just sad that this was one of his last movie projects. Also, I love the upgraded suit and tech that Lucius made for Batman.*
*Side note:*
*The lip licking was for two reasons:*
*To keep the prosthetic makeup (facial scar) in place*
*To add to Joker's unsettling & unpredictable nature*
Nice my guys... You gotta watch the finale now. Mixed reviews but I still liked it.
We loved it. We watched it July 11th
@@DaKidsReact didn't see the reaction. My bad
Def check out Monkey Man. Came out this year. Highly entertaining.
That’s for Patreon. It’s coming to YT in about 2-3 weeks
Been watching this movie the better part of 15-16 years and i still grt chills at the end with Gordon talking yo his son about Batman being the watchful guardian. The Dark Knight
Always top reactions guys. 👊🏻 from the UK
Look at Abraham Swizzle over here.
1:06:03. Two BoB members, actually. First one at the time stamp is Talbert who got stabbed by Smith also known as The Night of the Bayonet, and then Cobb, the drunkard.
Frak! I never caught that.
For me, Dark Knight is the best batman movie in all the franchise....heath ledger has the best portrayal of joker...even the one acting Dent. Overall, this movie is the best. Thank you for your reaction. Your shocked faces during the bat mobile turn into the bike is precious. I can imagine thats the same reaction i have pn my face when i watched this movie. Thank you for this reaction. Keep safe ❤️
Rest in peace Heath Ledger. Was amazing as the Joker and many other movies, inlcuding A Knight's Tale - one of the best!
Lol that’s so amazing, the best scenes are usually the ones that are improv and happen naturally 🔥🔥🔥
@@Jashtvorak ahhh I see
@@Jashtvorak so multiple ppl even Chris Nolan himself say it was an error they kept in but you know better? Sure bud
Bruh…you guys at 42:20 got me
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Starting watching you guys with the band of brothers series and have watched every video since. Much love for you both. Haven’t seen you guys do much sports movies but if you would take any suggestions I would love to see you do Miracle.
Appreciate all the love and support! We appreciate more than you know and we’ll definitely have to jump into the sports space at some point. I (Sheim) believe I watched some of that awhile ago🤔
Best superhero movie ever. Hands down.
The last 10 min or so is cinematic and story telling perfection
Hey nice reactions man.
Just gotta say this real quick because a lot of reactors don't seem to pick up on this.
In the first Movie Alfred pretty much tells Bruce, that if he does not want people to suspect him being Batman, he should act more like people would expect a billionaire to behave - meaning all the expenisce cars, boats and women are just an Act Bruce pools off to be seen as an eccentric billionaire, that would never fight crime for the people at night.
It's when Alfred says something along the lines off: ''If you start pretending to have a little fun, you may actually get any''
And its also refrenced when Bruce meats Rachel the first time after coming back when he says : ''All this... It's not me.... I am more.''
And Rachel answers with the pretty famous quote: ''It's not who we are underneath, but what we do that defines us.''
it might have been Heath Ledger's last role in film, but damn did he knock that shit out of the park. i remember being young and not knowing him, so i had no opinion of him being cast as the joker.
it was wonderful to see with fresh eyes. this was a favored memory of my childhood
that reminds me - fun trivia for film details. around 32:52 the window springs open, and the sniper shoots the opening blinds, but another gun in the 21-gun salute fires a live round, right at that window. there are two sets of sparks, basically a primed weapon in the Joker's hand.
takes immense planning to even think of that sort of thing
Such an epic film 👏🏻
Truly amazing!!
Fun fact:
Whilst filming the scene where The Joker crashes Dent's party, some pyrotechnics malfunctioned and set fire to Maggie Gyllenhaal's dress. Heath ended up throwing himself on top of her to put out the flames.
Heath Ledger was absolutely BRILLIANT as Joker , one of the greatest performances of all time period. RIP.
Which I'm sorry maybe I'm alone but I think that is so hard
one of the craziest trilogies ever
No sure if true. Sounds true.
Around 26:30 when he grabbed her face.
I heard that wasn't in the script. And she was looking over at the Director because she was confused.
And he turned her face to look at him.
Heath Ledger man. 😯
Potentially already posted in other comment, but Heath Ledger is actually in the scene where Bruce, Rachel, and Harvey have dinner together. Behind Bruce is the back of a man’s head with wavy brown hair right at the next table. The joker was having dinner in the same restaurant while also tailing Harvey Dent closely. Batman and the Joker were back to back and never even knew it
WHAT?! That’s crazy we will have to go back & watch it😨
Grab some popcorn? Nah bro I’m grabbing the dab pen. This is gonna be good
The hotel explosion scene was completely improvised. The explosives didnt go off in time so he stayed in character until the bombs went off.
Fun fact: The joker's home video's were actually directed by Heath himself. Nolan let him have creative freedom.
@@nostoneunturned7641 Heath is one of a kind!
I'm grateful I got to see this in theaters. It was so good!
Excellent reaction. Listen, guys, this is really important, DO NOT CHANGE. What you're doing is perfect. The talking, the joking, all of it works. People will tell you, I don't like this, I don't like that, screw 'em! What you're doing works, just being yourselves. Nice work! 👍
This means the world to use! Thank you so much for the kind words and support, we do our best to be as authentic as possible for you guys so to hear this feedback makes us even more hype to drop content for you! 🖤
I'm sure you've already watched TDKR but I know you know Pittsburgh a little bit and they filmed a ton of it throughout the city (Oakland, East Liberty, Downtown, "Heinz Field"). Excited to see you notice at least the Steeler cameos.
The saddest thing is Heath was only just beginning to show how versatile he was as an actor. He always had the potential, just never the chance to show what he could really do.
6:17 You know, I've never thought of the batcave as a dungeon...
but now I can't un-think it as one.
Check out the ancillary bonus shorts called GOTHAM TONIGHT in which Wayne and Dent ad Gordon and Maroni are interviewed by Anthony Michael Hall. A breaking news interruption at one point is the bank robbery where Joker
Best batman movie of all time.
That end gets me too, fellas.
The "Dark Knight" Joker is the best version, solely because of Heath Ledger's performance.
Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan are a perfect pairing (Director and Composer).
yall gonna love man of steel then batman V superman ! those two are so dope
Damn. You looked away at the exact moment that Rachel’s face caught on fire.
🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
You guys are top tier reactors.
We appreciate you!
Health Ledger only slept 30 minutes a day when filming this movie. It really added to his performance as the Joker.
That is truly insaneeeeeee
Also fun fact, the guy who played the dude who tried to blackmail batman is the DJ from slipknot.
Check out the ancillary bonus shorts called GOTHAM TONIGHT in which Wayne and Dent and Gordon and the Mayor and Maroni are each interviewed by Anthony Michael Hall. A breaking news interruption at one point is the bank robbery where Joker escapes in a school bus!
In my opinion The Joker didn't care who hit the button so if either button was pressed, both ships would blow simultaneously
Guys, I came here because you are IDENTICAL to a soccer player in Brazil called Gerson, who plays for Flamengo. 😂😂😂😂😂
Hugs from Brazil
Awesome reaction
Ready for Dark knight rises!!
We lovedddddd it!!
All it takes is one bad day - The Joker (The Killing Joke)
Alfred is a veteran, in other comics, Bruce /Batman first mentor
Love the channel! Would be great to see you guys react to The Hurricane, great true story, one of Denzel Washingtons best performances!
Appreciate the loveeee!!
