I love the speech Anna in Tess’ body gives before they switch back. It’s the act of selfless love for broth of them. Tess being willing to put off her wedding until Anna was ready and Anna allowing the room to let Ryan in as a new father figure. I also love its humor and the soundtrack. I agree with Rob that the parent has the much more fun role than the kid.
Legitimately, Lindsay and Jamie both did such an amazing job playing each other in this! One of my favorite live-action Disney movies of that era. I always forget about that incomprehensible therapy patient, and whenever that scene happens in a reaction I burst out laughing 😂
Literally the best two lines for me are still, “Get away you clone freak!” and “Oh, I’m like the Crypt Keeper!”
It was really cool that Jamie Lee Curtis actually learned to play that guitar solo herself. She rocks in this movie and IRL

Jamie Lee was not originally cast for this film, whomever was backed out at the last moment. Jamie Lee was called and offered the role, no audition needed on Thursday Night they started filming the next Monday. I truly believe that had the character been played by ANYONE else this film would’ve flopped.
A cute little piece of trivia about the Freaky Friday movies:
Boris in this movie (the delivery guy in the office after Jamie Lee's makeover, aka Marty McFly's Brother) is also Boris in the original movie. He was the early movie crush. So Boris (the guy who played him) is in both the first and second movie, and in the third movie they switched it up with a huge dog named Boris 🐶
That's awesome! We knew it was Dave from Back to the Future, but had no clue the connection to the original Freaky Friday!
An underrated Lindsay Lohan film is Herbie Fully Loaded. Lots of fun and great soundtrack.
2:48 I always loved the transition from the OG Turtles version of “Happy Together” to the Simple Plan cover (the latter isn’t as good as the original, but the transition between the two works really well for this opener.)
I love how even though this is a "remake", they made their own story for it instead of just copying the original.
Their chemistry is fantastic and a huge part of why this movie is great and memorable

I was literally randomly listening to some Lindsay Lohan on my way to work this morning. Why did I decide to listen to "Confessions of a Broken Heart" at 6:30 am? I have no clue 😆. Also, "Take Me Away" was a whole bop! Lol...
I've lost count of how many times I must have watched this, since it was one of the earliest DVDs I owned 😅 Along with Uptown Girls (one of my favourites), A Cinderella Story, Princess Diaries 2, Mean Girls, etc.
This is a pretty funny body swapping movie!
There are talks of a Sequel/reboot to the movie, with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reprising their roles, but it's highly unlikely that it will happen.

My favourite is 13 going on 30 which came out at the same time. It's maybe not strictly speaking a body swap movie (?) but it's similar. It's super girly, but that's one of the things I love about it. But also Jennifer Garner's physicality and how she is in the role generally is great!

Lindsay Lohan deserves an apology from Hollywood! And should get lifted back up. Because the media did her so so wrong! Instead of helping a young child star looking for help they made her into a joke and laughing stock of the town. It is just so sad to think about.
People have been on a kick of wanting to lift Britney Spears up because the industry owe her an apology. If they can do it with Britney they should do it for Lindsay too.
I LOVE this movie, i use to watch it all the time when it was on Disney Channel back in the day and Disney Movies on Foxtel before Disney Plus came long, i also seen the parent trap with Lindsay Lohan love that movie also she was in another movie called a confession of a teenager drama queen, i also so that movie too.
Danny McBride's character from Tropic Thunder almost accidentally blinded Jamie Lee Curtis while making this movie. Haha.

I was a 14/15 year old redhead with blonde streaks in my hair just like Lindsay’s wearing my cargo baggie pants, black tank top with black mesh over it and black mesh gloves. I felt very seen 😂😂😂😂
35:05 Olivia Rodrigo had an interesting relationship with Disney, doing extensive work with them, but was so bright not signing their recording contract. This allowed her to pursue an outside deal for her music career, and she's got 14 Grammy nominations, 3 wins, and 15 Billboard Top 40 songs in 2 albums, including several #1 hits. Lindsay Lohan was spectacular as a child actress. I still root for her to break out in an adult role that gets her an Oscar nomination,, I know she has it in her. Jamie Lee Curtis accomplished the Oscar-winning role. Both were great in this movie.

Glad you guys enjoyed this one. While it’ll never top this version, I also recommend the 2018 Freaky Friday. It’s a DCOM, and I don’t know how you feel about those (at least this day and age), but it’s very heartfelt like this one, and as with this one, the actresses for the mom and the daughter do a great job. It’s also a musical, so there’s that element too; it’s actually based on a musical that Disney Theatrical Productions came out with at La Jolla Playhouse a couple years prior, but they cut out a lot of songs and watered it down a LOT for Disney Channel. But it’s still really good.

I kinda have to disagree about this movie being a "sign of its time." I think it still holds up with the message of a parent and child understanding each other after experiencing each other's life. I will say my one gripe with the movie is the Jake and Anna in Tess' body plot. I do think that part didn't age as well or even Jake getting together with the real Anna in the end. Like I probably would've been like "you kissed my mom or who you thought was my mom so I don't feel comfortable getting together with you." Aside from that, I love this movie and I love Jamie Lee Curtis and Linday Lohan's chemistry.
