Affalterbach. The first performance hybrid from Mercedes-AMG is entering series production and draws on technologies from Formula 1. The concept includes a distinctive drive layout with electric motor and battery on the rear axle as well as a high-performance battery developed in-house. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE (weighted, combined fuel consumption: 8.6 l/100 km; weighted, combined CO2 emissions: 196 g/km; weighted power consumption: 10.3 kWh/100 km)[1] combines superior performance and impressive driving dynamics with maximum efficiency thanks to its special powertrain. The E PERFORMANCE model thus transfers the DNA of AMG Driving Performance into the electrified future. The combination of 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and electric motor generates a system output of 620 kW (843 hp) and a maximum system torque of more than 1,400 Nm. The electric drive's immediate response at the rear axle, rapid torque build-up and improved weight distribution make for a new, highly dynamic driving experience. As in Formula 1, the battery is specifically designed for fast power delivery and draw. The electric range of 12 kilometres allows a practical operating radius, for example in the city or in residential areas.''

im sure he's smart enough to only do these speeds on sections of the autobahn where there is no speed limit....
yes, a highway without speed limits does exist, as long as he's in 1 of those sections, its 100% legal

If only I had more money or this was cheaper I would go with it :) Just ordered a new E53 few weeks ago and I am sure I will be happy with it when it arrives :) I have to agree with the confusion as to why some of the material and other choises in some of the AMG seems really cheap/ugly. I am also not particularly happy with the very limited interior choises for colors. For example in the E53 I would have much more prefered single color interior leather like in the base E series models and not the black+color combination.

It is not a real GT. The floor pan is E-Class and the entire drive train is from the E 63. Underneath the sheet metal is an E-Class T Model with a different body on top.
whats even more sad, that this gear lever not even from A class or other, its way older :D my CLS W218 2013 model has the same gear lever :)
imo I don’t mind tesla but a model 3 performance is way cheaper and same top speed and 0-60 for 60k
Im a huge fan of the gt but the back of the car does not look good at all. Its so curvey and the lights just dont look good.
cutting cost on the interior is not it. I hate the glossy plastic. should be wood or aluminum or carbon like in the older S class models

pretty stupid thoughts and thing to say.. at this price point it should've come with leather by default.. plastic is for some cheap chinese cars..
the only time it makes sense for a Merc to come up with plastic interior is when Merc trying to reposition themselves as an overpriced chinese car. In such scenario then yes, they should charge more and go full plastic and see if their customers are happy with an overpriced chinese wanna be cars.
