My mom worked at the See’s factory in the Bay Area for many years. I’m 68 now, so those memories of her coming home in her white dress ( and occasional free rejects!) are so priceless to me now.
The best thing about Sees is that they have never ever changed the formula. It as delicious as the chocolate was I 1970's when I first had a bite. Divine candy.
Natural flavor was created in 2009. That and other additives, including the preservative sodium benzoate, are in See’s candies now that weren’t there originally.
I always treat myself to a box of See’s for my birthday.. I’m definitely going to add Christmas in too. This company has been a staple in my life since childhood.
@Kay D. Same with me. Spent my life in nursing in Nevada…nurses were ALWAYS soooo happy when patients would bring in See’s. I’m so addicted even now. I can still open a box and “identify” what each piece has inside . My daughter (bless her) still sends me See’s candy a few times a year. I live in Vermont, now…no See’s stores close by (which might be a blessing 😉)
I work in healthcare and was a recipient of See's generosity last spring, before Easter, when they so kindly gave their candy away. I was able to share it with my family, who were also very grateful. Thank you, See's! My family's favorite chocolate!
My grandfather in the last couple of years of his life, only wanted a box of Sees Chocolates for Christmas. He ended up with about 50 pounds worth each year. Didn't have a weight problem (if anything, he needed to gain weight), and he was never happier than when he'd watch a ball game and munch on chocolate.
Yes! My grandparents were never without a box of See’s chocolate in the house, and my brother and I knew if we were on good behavior actually get a piece or two! :)
Born and raised in California and See's candies is part of our lives here. They are part of every major holiday. Valentine's, Easter, 4th of July, my birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! The great news for those that don't have a See's is they recently revamped their online shop and ship to other states and internationally through their service specialists. I cannot imagine life without See's.
We were born and raised in LA too! We used to go to the main plant on La Cienega Blvd. Remember the beautiful little See's candy shops? Now it can ordered on line! We don't live in LA anymore either. But See's is so popular they opened a large free standing store in LA and when it re-opened there was a gigantic line around the store,
I remember there always being See's candy at my Grandparent's house every Christmas. See's is the only candy we eat in our home. Been loving and enjoying See's for many decades. No matter how high the price goes up, I will continue to buy See's candy. It's the best candy and I feel proud to give it as gifts to family and friends! It's also a tradition. Thank you See's.
Our Mother went to the See's plant on La Cienaga Blvd. in Los Angeles decades ago. They sold extra, cleaned walnuts that Mom and Grandma baked with for the holidays. I remember the beautiful white walled store and the sample the kind ladies gave out. Mom would buy some candy as well. When the Sees Candy plant closed because of the Pandemic it really brought home how terrible the Pandemic is, when it re- opened it was the lead story on the news here in Southern California. See''s Candy, always the finest!
I love, love, love, love, love SEE's CANDY!!!! I hope every Christmas SEE's CANDIES continues to bring the wonderful treats of the season for those who just love them! My all time favorite is dark chocolate covered walnuts : ) and they make up the 3 pound box for me when I go to their shop. LOVE IT!
Q: have you tried Godiva chocolate? I used to buy it by the piece by weight, in a mall. My favorite! I haven't tried See's! But Godiva is sold in alot of stores now (Kohl's, Belk's, Food Lion, Ingles, Publix, Walmart, Target, etc)
@@tryin2beehappygolucky431 That's the great thing about See's candies is that it isn't sold in any stores except their own. That said their service specialists are able to take international orders from their online store.
@New Moon Energetics, how thoughtful of you! Thank you for appreciating people in your town who provide a service to the community. That is what makes small towns great- caring people. Blessings.
My dad was a GP in LA and he would bring home a stack of boxes from his office at xmas time. It was a favorite gift for patients to give their doctors.
We used to have many See's candy shops around the SF Bay Area, but one by one they closed. When I go to Honolulu I am glad to see See's at many of the malls. I remember in the 1950's,my mom telling me that the employees are unionized. I don't know if that is still true, but I hope so. Bordeaux are my favorites. I love the variety & receiving a box of See's as a gift is a joy.
There's a factory near where I live. Every year, without fail, starting after T-giving, they put up a huge inflatable Santa and reindeers + snow men + other winter-themed characters on the roof. The factory has a small store in it. [Also interesting that Buffet owns See's. I knew that already but not surprised. Buffet is a disciple of values investing and encourages people to invest in industries they have experiences with. So loving the chocolate, he probably looked into investing in them and found the numbers favorable.]
Have loved it all my life. Went on a tour there as a Girl Scout... still order many times a year... my dear Dad would buy his co-workers and the ladies in the lunch line he frequented a box ev Xmas... One of Lucy and Ethel's best episodes! Thx Sunday Morning, and as always, Happy Holidays to all there for bringing us "happiness!"
My daughter just sent me a box of See’s for Christmas. My husband got the peanut brittle. Something new or at least to me was a bag of the hard candy like the suckers without the sticks, so good. I use to live in California so we had See’s around a lot thanks to my Grandpa.
I have a bag of treats from See’s right next to my chair ! Purchased from See’s Candy in Yorba Linda California ! Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 and Chocolate Joy ! ☃️
When I was transferred to California 40 years ago I started seeing these black and white checkerboard stores every now and then. I figured they were probably affiliated with Russell Stover as that company used white with a bit of black trim in their stores on the east coast. NOPE, See's, as I found out was to Russell Stover's as sirloin steak is to hamburger. My family developed a tradition where someone sent the rest of us boxes of See's, ALWAYS nuts and chews. The last few years See's has gotten progressively more expensive, and thanks to Covid-19, we have missed a few years. Luckily, I am retired Navy and the base exchange sells See's starting at Thanksgiving and lasting into the new year, at a nice discount. But have been too busy to get my 4-5 2 pound boxes this year. I hope to make it before January 1st.
Loved going to See’s Candy stores for the smell and the free sample when I was in SanDiego, Ca as a sailor! As I made more money I bought candy! My husband grew up in CA an to this day loves Nuts and Chews!!
This video has brought back such fond memories of my childhood, growing up in L.A. Even now at 66 years old, I get so excited recalling as a kid the times my mom would take my brothers and I into a Sees candy store to buy a box of chocolates. Entering a Sees store, you could smell the wonderful aromas of chocolate candy, and just looking at the display and seeing the mesmerizing varieties of candies made my mouth drool! And the best part was knowing that the lady behind the counter would always give each of us a free sample of a Sees chocolate while we were deciding which assortment we wanted to include in our 1 or 2 lb box. Sees is the absolute best chocolate candy in the world!
I have loved See,s candy for the last 60 years, unfortunately the price has gone up so much I can no longer afford to buy it , it is the best brand out there . I'm glad the company is going strong.
I also found out awhile ago. I was like NO !! I thought it might lose it’s charm and quality ! Then I found out it has been owned by him since 1972 !! The year l graduated high school. And I am OLD, so I guess we are SAFE. Blessings for a lovely Christmas 🎄 2 U and your family. Luv from California. 🍫🍬🐑
@@marycook1644 Buffet's smart and the companies he owns generally aren't just profitable but also offer reasonable service/ good value. For example, he owns CORT furniture rental also. A few times, I've looked up companies and was shocked to see he (or his affiliates) owned them.
Buffet says it's one of his best investments generating an 8000% return on investment since he initially bought them. And all he had to do was let the company do what they do best while not changing anything. He says he's been able to buy airlines and other businesses with the returns he made from See's candies.
One of my great joys upon moving back West after too many years back East was having See's candy. Growing up in Southern California we always had a box or two at Christmas.
Sees is our family's favorite. ❤️ We order rocky road eggs for Easter and order 2lb box for Christmas🎄. My daughter had the Barbie, and worked for them when she was in high school.
My grandma gave me Sees every year since I was a kud. Its just the best! Still! Best quality and all these years later hasn't changed. Thanks grandma...thanks Sees!
So cool to see this. My family is orginally from CA but now lived in Northern Indiana. I am heartbroken to report there are no See's stores even remotely close. It has been a family tradition clear back to my grandpa, very close to when it first opened. He loved his chocolate and would boast them up and down. We occasionally give them as gift to our friends and they always say it is the best candy they ever had. One guy specifically stopped by our outbto tell us that. Lol

When My sister was Expecting her first child, in the 1st trimester, We sent her a box in celebration and her husband sent us a picture of her, packaging all around her, curled up on the couch with a look of pure bliss on her face with a chocolate in her mouth. Oddly one of the few things she could eat at the time come to find out. She was one happy Mama. Can't afford it much anymore, especially with the shipping prices now, but once a year we try and get a box.
I normally only buy sees for my grandma. Well the last time I went in there I went ahead and got a nuts and chews box for myself! It was so good! Had a couple pieces every time I watched a basketball game. I think I’ll go this week and grab me a box! We have one about 10 miles away!
See's is the best chocolate 🍫 in all the world. I'm a chocoholic & have tried chocolate from many different countries & even exclusive chocolate shops in Beverly Hills. Still, nothing beats See's candies. Deliciousness laced with nostalgia
I love them all, but my absolute favorite is Scotchmallow! Then toffee brittle then raspberry truffles! Forget Disneyland Sees candy IS The Happiest Place on Earth!

One of the times I hitched back home from ???, I was looking for food in dumpsters and was doing pretty good. But I still felt a need for something. And I walked and walked (during darkness) and passed a "Sees". Voila! Sweet. Found some. And continued on.
I love See’s! Make an order for pick up and ask the helper, “which one would you recommend for my period?” They will give you your medicine right there as a sample. Better than Disney every time!

I normally only buy sees for my grandma. Well the last time I went in there I went ahead and got a nuts and chews box for myself! It was so good! Had a couple pieces every time I watched a basketball game. I think I’ll go this week and grab me a box! We have one about 10 miles away!
They are the absolute best. Wish I could still eat them. Would be overjoyed if they added a dairy & egg free variety/gift box to their menu.
All “dark” chocolate is dairy-free by definition
Merry Christmas SEE'S. I hope they never cut corners.
See's is the best chocolate 🍫 in all the world. I'm a chocoholic & have tried chocolate from many different countries & even exclusive chocolate shops in Beverly Hills. Still, nothing beats See's candies. Deliciousness laced with nostalgia
There's other candy brands out there which are really good. Then there's See's. They stand alone. They truly are the best in the world.
I got to deliver to the factory back in my trucking days.
My box contains; Dark Scotchmallows, milk chocolate toffee, dark walnuts and almonds, dark carmels, mollasses chips and lollipops!
LOVE See’s, it actually brings back memories
I love See's Candy. I love it too much.
Just received a 2 lb. Box from my sister TRACY and like I told her CHRISTMAS wouldn't be the same without a box of See's candy.
I love them all, but my absolute favorite is Scotchmallow! Then toffee brittle then raspberry truffles! Forget Disneyland Sees candy IS The Happiest Place on Earth!

Oh my goodness!!! I wish I had that special someone to share this pleasure with ☹️
One of the times I hitched back home from ???, I was looking for food in dumpsters and was doing pretty good. But I still felt a need for something. And I walked and walked (during darkness) and passed a "Sees". Voila! Sweet. Found some. And continued on.
I love the See’s car!
I love See’s! Make an order for pick up and ask the helper, “which one would you recommend for my period?” They will give you your medicine right there as a sample. Better than Disney every time!
California Bark is my favorite! This year someone gave me a See’s Advent Calendar and I love it!
Best candy ever
I worked there seasonally as a Call Center Agent in 2019, and met Pat Egan. Their HQ was/is in Carson, CA.
See's is the best in the nation and I have tried them all. I always feel like a kid in a candy store when I visit See's and I am 62.
The best one is the caramel and marshmallow dipped in chocolate for sure!
