112 works worldwide from every mobile phone that uses the standard GSM protocol. (I think North America uses something else, along with some other countries.) Good to know so that in every country, it will transfer your call from your mobile phone to the local emergency services number, even if you don't know it. Some countries also have 112 (and some also 911), in addition to their own emergency service number(s), so visitors can still get through without stress or hassle. (Although, it's always useful to know the proper emergency number for the country you're in, in case you need to use a landline.)
USA uses both GSM and CDMA although CDMA now has been taken over by the LTE standard which is a GSM based technology. 112 will work in USA regardless of phone carrier.
0:24 I live in the Netherlands (between Belgium and Germany, for people who don't know Europe) and 112 is for all emergency services and 113 is for suicide help. Fenekie made a comment about there being four numbers in his country, and it's the same in the Netherlands. We have 112 as overall emergency, while for small things you can call the service alone.
In Norway the emergency numbers are 110 for ambulance, 112 for police and 113 for fire. And if I'm not completely wrong 999 is the UK Emergency Services.
Correct, 999 is for the UK. In Australia it is 000. This is for all services and you will be asked which service you require then you will be patched through to hte relevant service
In Czech Republic, we have 4 numbers. Police, ambulance, firefighters and I case you wouldn't know who to call or you would need more then just one department, you just call 112 which is also for foreigners... :D
In Ukraine 101 - fireDPT, 102 - Police, 103 - Ambulance, 104 gas service; There have been plans for them to be replaced with 112 since 2009 and 2012. Its "work in progress currently"

Dude, I am enjoying your gameplay like hell :D :D and your commentary even more :D :D Keep it up man :)
I just subscribed recently and finished watching the older 911 Operator videos. I love the little diagrams that show you what's going on, it's really simple but that's a cool addition. Also the whole game looks a lot sleeker.
I totally forget this game was coming out well the other day. I was really hyped up for this game. After watching another TH-camr play it i figured i try more videos out. I remember watching a handful of your videos on 911 operator and i vaguely remember saying some very negative things on said videos using one of my alts. If that did in fact happen i apologize.
No idea. The internet is full of nasty comments, YT included, so I don't remember your particular one. Probably wouldn't, even if you told me the name of the account. But just in case, apology accepted!
@@MetalCanyon I can't honestly remember my reason for making such comments. You sound kinda like my former brother in law Maybe that sparked something. I'm glad we could bury that hatchet regardless.

Honestly the van you start with I always make it swat and just blow my money making them have snipers machine guns and shotguns and then I'd literally have no more money left to buy a second fire truck
The annoying thing for Brits, Aussies, etc is that they likely won't be adding regional voices since the American version is already in English so that will be an immersion breaker if you're trying to operate a call centre in Yorkshire and everyone is American...
That would be quite a feat. You'd also need voice acting for all the other countries. Would be nice, though, but I think we're far from that still, unless computer-generated voices become so natural and believable... But it'll put voice actors out of a job. :/
is 110 just for police? Because in my country we have separate numbers for police ambulance and firefighter and also a number for all emergencies which is 112

Hey MetlCanyon, may I ask you if you will cover The Outer Worlds as a Let's Play as soon as it will become available via Steam? If so, will you consider a similar type of Let's Plays like you did with the Fallout-series? (dumb character, good, evil, etc.). Stay safe.
@@thesii213 No. Unlike a lot of people who seem to only care whether it's on Steam or not, that's not my issue. My issue is publisher feeding this exclusivity beast. I will not support a bribe-and-poach exclusivity, which has soured so many kickstarter projects as well as gamer goodwill. Saying 'all is forgiven' as soon as the game comes back on Steam, even with a discount, is simply saying 'it's all right, I forgive you, keep taking Epic's money and lying to gamers who are anticipating your games where and when it's going to be released'. This whole holier-than-thou attitude of Epic and their boss is sickening. Under the pretense of 'breaking Steam's monopoly' and 'giving developers more money' (neither of which is really true; while Steam is a behemoth, it's not really a monopoly. The more money part is very much debatable as well, since the lower sales and all the other fees for using their store adds up), Epic is brute-forcing the market, even going so far as to pay companies money to NOT sell on Steam. Any company that takes their money and goes exclusive (in-house exclusives are fine and understandable, everyone wants to promote their own games in their own store first and foremost) has lost my money forever. Just my opinion on things. I know my principles have cost me in the past and they will continue to cost me in the future, but I can not bring myself to pat such publishers on their back and say 'there, there, it's all forgiven'. Most likely me and people like me are not going to make a difference at all because there's a plethora of others who are much more forgiving.
@@MetalCanyon I certainly appreciate the principled stance on the matter, especially since it's something that I've not devoted a lot of time or thought to parsing out.
