I can't imagine taking anything to the point where i wouldn't be comfy risking going bass ackwards over a curb when safe to do so. My issue is that car shows are a competition of quantity, not quality. The cars that win are “insta builds” that look good from 10 feet away, but up close they’re scratched, swirled, bubbly wraps, etc.
My 1998 Dodge Durango 4x4 SLT .1st , 2nd , 3rd in every car show for two years including night time low rider and rice burner shows , not to bad I would say . It was all black with purple neons all around .
VERY nice MKIII Supra in that intro and looking at it tells me pretty much everything of how I'll never be winning car shows with mine lol. No idea where he got that carbon fiber dash panel wrap, but I would NOT be putting that on mine, nor is my paint amazing. I'm still saving up just to have the all three bumpers and the targa top re-sprayed and even then It's not perfect. IMO It's very close to a show car, but I don't think I'm ever going to get there even with $12K already into it. I just like to actually enjoy it to the level I've put it at. No crazy engine bay or power mods, just an NA auto that I love to drive. ALSO, SO cool to see you and the boys back again, amazing chemistry as always.
It doesn't matter where I live because all the judges are older and don't care about ANYTHING but muscle cars. No one wins but those, and many other enthusiasts have quit going because it's pointless.
Honestly, yes. You would just have to put an insane amount of work into it to make it completely unique. The issue you'll run into is there is a lot more crazy aftermarket stuff for the "cool" cars and frankly that's what makes them easier to stand out with. Again you can absolutely transform most cars, but the support has to be there (body kits/lights/etc). With my MKIII Supra, despite it being 34 years old, there are several little vendors out there that make custom LED lights and parts for it to really modernize it and frankly make it cooler than most new cars. You're not going to have that likely with non-enthusiast cars.

Frankly I'm not into almost any cars after the early 00's, but If someone REALLTY puts their own style and car on their ride, I'll always be impressed. It's just extremely rare on the street.

You need to be a friend of somebody and be white or Asian number 1 and build a popular car 2 and 3 if its an Lexus or Toyota your already got 3 more points 10 more if it’s a Honda l. And if the best car doesn’t WIN what’s the point of even showing up.
