@@grantkendrick277 oh ok cool I was thinking of getting some artisa wheels or some bbs idk I been a jdm guy but had a soft spot for gti and after crashing my last car I decided to get a gti and idk too much about the community outside of them being very nice or what builds to do exactly I do know I’m definitely gonna go stage 1+ or 2 on it at least
@@gabegarcia4591 I never got to mod my mk6, I bought it in really bad shape, dumped 7k into it and then the engine blew on me and I decided I was gonna stop pouring money into it. It was just a bad example and I should've known better. My mk7 is stage one right now and I plan on taking it much further but i can't recommend a stage one tune enough for these things. Night and day difference.
This reminds me of my first meet. I was 14 and going grocery shopping, and a bunch of gtrs pulled up to the parking lot infront of the store. I was so unprepared, I mean I was in slippers and pajamas for god sakes, and ended up staying till 12:30 gawking at r33s. Now, I'm 15, and I now have wet dreams over gtrs. Good times
That's really cool how you were introduced to the car scene I recommend that you check out all sorts of cars and if you find out you like gtrs the best then go for it

I know you said not to arrive too early, but every car show has that one guy who shows up at 6AM because he wants one specific spot, which he picked out the day ahead of time, the one spot which maximizes visibility and foot traffic and thus puts his car in the best light and the most views. Because winning that $5 trophy is everything.
Last year I should've been going to my first car "festival" (3 days with camping on a track, with program around mainly cars of course, Asian culture, cosplay etc. all the way) ever with 3 friends. It would've been my first time driving on a track IRL as well, not only in sim. Now this year should've been ot but nah, they suddenly had no permission for an over 1k visitor open-air evvent in September so the 3rd year in a row I was denied (2019 my dampers said goodbye just before I went there/ my new ones hadn't arrived yet + I was there alone and for just one day)

i wish we had shows like this in norway.. here its just 20 guys standing there with their wagon volvos and bmw's and like 2 guys doing burnouts in a junk corolla...
Went to a meet and I was the only mk4 vw there, got a lot of weird looks until I found out the vw guys were at a low rider meet for some reason down the road🤷🏼♂️
I've been working slowly on getting my car ready for it's and my first show next month. I have like 3 weeks and I still need to machine and powder coat my wheels. Oh yeah, and make it run because it's got issues right now. This is gonna be fun lmao.
The beginning is funny, I ordered my rims from you guys and my tires from somewhere else, got sent the wrong size rims so I’m sitting with tires waiting on the rims

Pro tip: network, network, network. Collect business cards from the folks you meet, add/follow folks on social media, or if all else fails... take a picture of an individual's car and save the photo as or add text to the photo of their name so you don't forget. You'll be surprised as to the amount of friends made and opportunities available just by saying hello.
Maybe also thank the staff for putting on the event and if you can offer to help clean up. Dunno if that's allowed maybe a insurance for the even might have that as a no.

I love FI and I always wanted to buy wheels, tires, and suspension.. but I found the wheels on their website from the actual retailer for $110 less, got pretty decent tires brand new and I ended up spending $150 ish less than my basic cart in total w mounting and everything, I’m sorry :(
good advice ...wish more people would adhere to these ideas... & ill add one, to the car show hosts... stop putting on car shows on saturdays at 10am! ...im a barber & i wok on saturdays man! ...& on that note, one more, to the old farts club (usually late model corvettes) that show up to the rare (in my area) evening cruze ins, if it starts around 8pm till midnight, dont show up at 6pm then leave at 7! ...by 7pm the "blue plate special" at denny's is alredy over anyway, so what the hell is ur rush?!?

Etiquette needs to also come from the show hosts and promoters. Classes should be clarified to participants and judging should be more fair & precise. Some car shows lately are only focusing on the entertainment and “cool kid” factors while neglecting or disregarding the main purpose of the show itself. Picking favorites without actually judging all entries isn’t promoting competitors to return for future events.
The internet has definitely helped with this just Google "car meets (what ever city you live in)" I was able to find a couple regular meets and a ton of shows in my city. Good luck brother!

Most wheel cleaners have to be rinsed with water. If you need to clean your wheels at a show, use a quick detailer or all purpose cleaner.
