- During our stream in Las Vegas we offered $100 to anyone who could beat us in a chess game. Nobody was even close to winning until this young girl Sammy came. As we found out later, she was trained specifically to play us by one of our viewers... Drop a like and tell us in the comments, what other types of videos you'd like to see on this channel!

Yes! Wholesome is how you win. Sarcasm is just dissatisfaction parading as wit. It's false pride. Healthy pride has compassion and dignity and uplifts everyone around. Regardless of what happens on the chessboard, when you constantly train yourself to relate so harshly you will never feel satisfied. All that constant bickering and trash-talk can only arise from poor social skills or emotional pain. Leaving behind all of this negativity nonsense could surely promote these two pawns into the queens they were born to be.

Earlier sammy hangs a knight, alex noticed it but just took a pawn instead to encourage the kid.
Im the furthest thing from a simp but Alex really makes it hard not to.
She is so adorable (all three lol). I like it that Dad had her give the prize back so she will learn you don't deserve a prize just for playing. In the long run this will help her strives to be better at time management.
She seemed confused when Alex handed it to her. She didn't feel she deserved it. I think it was her idea to give it back.
Not sure what made you think it was the dad who gave her that idea, she was hesitant from the start.

@@kevinc1593 Great take Kevin! I lean towards it being the dad myself, but even if it was the little girl then that means the father has already taught her well. We live in a society now where every kid gets 'participation' trophy's/awards ..which is only hurting the kids and is detrimental to whatever they're passionate about IMO.
@@kevinc1593 I think she may have voiced her notions of not feeling right about taking the money to her father and he just gave her the little push she wanted to go back and return it. She looks back at him for support, not direction or approval. Kids will do that. I’m glad he encouraged her to do what she felt was right.
Watching it a second time it makes total sense why she was looking at the bill like it was her first time seeing money lol. She knew she didn’t want it from the start because she didn’t win.
I faithfully believe if Sammy had won she would have happily taken that crispy $100.
Botez did a fantastic job of encouraging her to play!

I mean she could be, same as any other smart kid playing chess, but this game doesn't particularly suggest it. The odds are against it, same as the odds being against anyone.
Well I sure as hell hope not, because a life dedicated to chess is just a huge waste of brain power in my opinion.

I love that she found Bxh6 and the underlying pin on the g file. it's hard for beginners to remember that pins are transient and any move requires reevaluating the safety of pieces protected only by a pin. but to even find it once is very good
Yeah, but the pin goes nowhere. It just gets you a pawn. If Alex used her rook the queen was perfectly fine to go across the board and begin attacking with the bishop, pawn and other rook against a queen and some weak pawns.

@@toriless but this proves that the girl knows and understands the concept, yes, it isn't the most useful position but to be able to apply it to a game at such a young age is very admirable.

@@toriless Even if it doesn't work in that case it's a good thing she thought about that move and even had the idea to try to mate Black's King. She was not fast enough to calculate that g6 would eventually save the King, allowing the Bishop to guard the h8 square for the rest of the game but nice try anyway.
Children love the both of you ladies... Its rare these days your known world wide and parents can take their kids to see you and play with you.

Sammy learned a great lesson by giving back the prize. She had fun playing chess with Alex and learned that having fun is more important than money.
Why do you think she needed to learn that lesson? She wanted to give it back from the start. The ones who learned a lesson were the two sisters.
what she did isnt called fun over money, its called pride over money. taking a reward that didnt belong to her, probably felt undeserved so she refused, she wanted to earn it and not gettin it gifted. this kid will make places with that mentality
I recently got back into chess because it was good for my brain. I stumbled upon you two sisters and you're good for my soul. As a pair, you're delightful. You are contributing greatly to the world. Keep it up.

Yes, the way Alex hesitates suggests she saw the move and decided not to make it. She wanted to encourage the girl and give her a chance to actually play and quite right too.
