It's crazy that a channel that primarily appeals to language nerds has progressed so quickly. You've caught up to a lot of mainstream multi-year effort channels.
I know this is kind of a cliche on TH-cam by now, but I've been dealing with some heavy, heavy depression symptoms the past week.
As someone who's been studying Spanish for the past 2 years, your channel has really lifted my spirits.
I appreciate your comedic take on the whole "TH-camr polyglot" phenomenon, and respect the fact that you've put so much time into seriously studying the languages you've learned, as well as the effort it took to write and produce these videos.

As a native Russian speaker, it is beyond me how people learn this language.
Dude I've been trying since birth and my russian just sucks more and more with every second passing. I learned all! Words! By! Heart! AND it doesn't help at all! Im still a walking mess of "эмм", "угу", "кекв" and "оуууу....". I say "ok" and "sorry" for the most part If I have to open my mouth just to stay somewhat sane! Why for the love of god "lEmons" is "лИмоны"??
I start to speak English every time I get drunk because it's easier.

As a native English speaker, I often feel the same way. Although, at least we don't have grammatical gender.

@@mr.adekvat I'm Russian but I've been learning English since I was 3, so basically, however strange it may sound, it's my second first language, and I can say that when I think about it in English (which I do very often btw), the most funny expression in Russian is "да нет", which it basically "yesn't"

Beaver. I'm a guy from the Squid Game Nation, and I'm trying to achieve the gigachad alphamale polyglot status, but it's too hard. I speak the Squid Game Language and American quite fluently, know a little bit of Japanese and Chinese, and I was trying to learn German and French in Luodingo but unfortunately I got bored in the process and started learning Polish. 🤣
And then my brain exploded from the complexity of Polish and I am now still a betamale...
I think Language Simp should learn Squid Game Language because it has "으" sound that sounds the same as his favorite Russian "ы".
You should try focusing on one language at a time.

Learning pizza and tacos at the same time would be impossible but pizza, Liechtensteinish, and squid game are different enough. You'll just need to either triple your time allocated to learning or learning them 3 slower

Congrats on your one million beavers! You’ve quickly become one of my favorite TH-camrs. With every video, I both learn something and am highly entertained! Also Thai is pretty fun once you get a feel for the alphabet. There are different letters for the same sounds but each denotes a different starting level for tones.

Man, you're really doing your best to make me rethink learning Russian (beaver). Tbh, while obviously the grammar is completely unfathomable to mortal intellects, I've been surprised at how many cognates there are, even if they're a little difficult to see in Cyrillic.
Nah don't worry about it. No language is impossible, some just take a bit longer to learn than others.
If it was about smarts or intellect then the dumbest Russians wouldn't be able to speak at all. It's all about immersion and time, so don't worry.

@@marat_a Well, the same superfamily, proto-indoeuropean (PIE). But so is Hindi, Latin and Persian, there's a lot of variance.
Technically English is Germanic and Russian is Slavic. The tree looks like
PIE -> Proto-Germanic -> West Germanic -> Anglosaxon -> English
PIE -> Proto-Slavic -> Old Slavonic -> East Slavic (or Rus') -> Russian
So the most common ancestor was around 2-3000 b.c.
@@alonsoACR Of course. I mean as a native russian speaker I see a lot of similarities between russian and english. Ive found that even 24% of words share the same root (and that really helped me to learn english to my intermediate level - many basic words sounds far relative). Sentence construction is close enough to be understood intuitively (unlike, for example, german).
Speaking about the russian, this language have a lot of grammatic rules and probably theres no need to learn all of them in the beginning (or at all). Moreover, grammatics can help to learn it. For example, there are 2 (main) words of different roots in english to describe processes with manipulating the door: open and close. While in russian you can learn the root (kryt) and 2 prefixes: ot-kryt and za-kryt'. Much easier that it always says, isnt it?

I know a little Tagalog due to living in PH and having mandatory Filipino classes in school, and that message said "Will you learn 'Filipinese'?" (Basically Filipino.)
From what I've read, strictly and/or technically speaking, "Filipino" refers to the Tagalog language that is influenced by Spanish, "Tagalog" refers to the language in its purest form, and "Pilipino" is literally just the Tagalog pronunciation of "Filipino".
