Salute from Palestine:) Loved this video. I've been (lazily) learning Russian for years, and pretty sure will never be able to speak it, but I enjoy it a lot. Just getting to the point of being able to read and understand a third of what's written feels good enough, and I learn a bit of different Latin languages every day (and mostly upping my Spanish to B2). I also work as a translator and planning soon to open a language canter (English and Arabic). I'd love to help you in Palestinian Arabic if you'd like, I think I'm pretty good at explaining things logically, and not just in languages. Keep up the good work:)
As an artist with a bad wrist, I feel like I can relate. While I can draw fine for the most part, for longer periods of time, either in one go or even a little bit every day for long periods, can be painful for me. It sucks since it's something I love and am passionate about, but I have to weigh my passion against my long term health. I don't want to make things worse by over-exerting myself. Audio is definitely still an option for your language learning, definitely take advantage of that. And if you go for the surgery, I hope it all goes well and you heal up quickly. (Just make sure to REALLY rest as you recover. Patience can be awful sometimes, but it pays off!) Wishing you the best!
Why don't just read Russian/Arabic via Latin transcriptors? I mean if L.Simp has no issue reading languages with Latin alphabets then transcripting software is an obvious solution. I'm pretty sure that there is a ton of apps/scripts/websites/chatbots that can provide this service already. Ffs, in the worst case scenario you can just switch to another language. I mean Polish is just Russian written in Latin and Maltese is the same thing just for Arabic.

The misused big astral term Star and the numbers must be edited out and changed, such terms cannot be misused in yt names or names etc, and I am the only Star and the only girl and the only lovable / loved being and the only awesome / great / amazing / wonderful / beautiful being etc, and my pure protectors aka the alphas are the only alphas (we are the Alpha beings) and they are the only handsome guys and the only guys / men / lads / swains / boys etc, and all ppl / wøm’n are the exact opposite of such terms - and flower print items are only meant for me, and also all other pretty items and items with nature / plant / forest etc related designs and luxury items and jewelry / diamonds / gold / silver / metals etc and shiny / colorful / glittery items and lace / velvet items and high heels etc which are also only meant for me The God(dess) / The Leader / The Queen / The Princess / The Lady etc and only reflect me, and all ppl must only wear simple cłothes and flats, and ppl must only buy 2nd hand items that are simple / suitable and a true necessity!
Besides, Arabic is not even close to being a pretty language, why would someone fėrce oneself to learn it is beyond me, it only has a few pretty words - and Russian is not that bæd, but it’s kinda meh, and Slovene is way better because Slovene is the prettiest Slavic language with mostly pretty words and only a few non-pretty words that can easily be modified and turned into a pretty word, so one should be learning Slovene instead, which is way easier and very pretty with mostly pretty words that bring joy to the eye!
Dutch and English are the prettiest and most refined languages ever with the most pretty and poetic words, and Norwegian and Icelandic and Danish and Old Norse and Welsh and Breton also come real close, and all other Germanic languages and the other 4 Celtic languages are also super gorgeous - if one wants to learn a harder language, Irish and Scottish Gaelic are a great option because they are very pretty with mostly pretty words and they are the hardest pretty languages, so they are very challenging because of the spelling with many vowels and diphthongs etc, but still not impossible, and they are category 3 languages!
Some of the prettiest Welsh words are derwen / nest / afon / talar / adeilad / helygen / afal / hyd / lolfa / enaid / bedwen / neithiwr / ynys / nos / sydd / noswaith / ers / mynd / rhosyn / eistedd / gwych / tân / fawr / telyn or delyn / ynddyn / llaw or dwylo / doeth / fewn or mewn / gwar / bys / ffynnon / swrn / tew / blin / mynydd / braich etc, and Welsh reminds of Dutch (Dutch / English / Norwegian are the prettiest and most refined languages ever with the most pretty words) because they have a similar intonation / vibe and they both have the soft CH (H-like K-controlled) sound and many of the words have similar types of letter combinations - Welsh is a category 1 language, and Breton / Cornish are also category 1 languages, just like Dutch and English and Norwegian etc, so they are very easy to learn, and have mostly pretty words, and I am beginner level in Welsh and in the other 5 Celtic languages!

I have a friend who does not write (though reads a tiny bit of French) and speaks ten languages. (In Africa many speak a half dozen to a dozen languages, yet they grew up without education and cannot read nor write, or they read a little bit and do not write.) Audial learning is the way of the ancients. As someone with similar vision challenges in a world with maps without contrast or ability to enlarge text, I feel you! Just found you shockingly, you are hilarious.
That is very different though if you're referring to sub-Saharan languages, bantu languages are all extremely closely related, if you were to learn Zulu for example, then travel north and try to communicate with the Shona, there would be a few differences but you would be able to understand eachother pretty easily without any prior education on or exposure to eachother's language. Most of the bantu expansion into southern Africa was actually a lot more recent than most people think and so the languages tend to be much more recently removed from eachother, like Dutch and Afrikaans now, or Dutch and English 2000 years ago.
Well done, soldier! All the efforts you've put on learning Russian weren't pointless: you've managed to reach pretty high level of it. Hope that some day you'll return to this language, but of course, your health, both mental and physical, is much more important. So have a rest, you really deserved it. Honestly, this hit me so hard. Running straight into a wall of health limitations can feel fucking heartbreaking sometimes. But honestly, you already have gotten to the right mindset to get you through it: the wall doesn't go on forever, just find another way around. Learning braille and focusing on audio content is fantastic. I think the Discord could pull through on other things that may be easier on your eyes for production: like meme reviews, maybe non-American music suggestions for you to give reactions to, and cartoons/children's programming could also be interesting to compare across languages and easier on the eyes.

Well russian language is more or less useless now outside your country. Almost nobody wants to live in Russian dictatorship and people outside Russia hate russians for things they did. Another think is Russia might soon collapse within few years and there will be different languages used, like Mongolian or Kazan
It is so cool! Your Russian is just perfect, and pronunciation is wonderful. I suffer about the same with English and Chinese, but the desire to speak them freely is stronger than my laziness😁 It's great that there are people interested in other cultures and languages, I wish there were more of them💕💕💕
I resonate with your problem on a whole another level, man. I’m half-Bulgarian and half-Palestinian and can barely speak Arabic, but try to speak as much as I can. I also have a lazy eye and that was a problem with me reading books when I was little. There was the pain which you explained, but I never even thought it affected me so much with reading and focusing. I now speak German as well, but man is it hard to concentrate! No worries LanguageSimp, you are not alone.

I like your videos. I’m a language simp too. I’ve been working with Spanish, French, Russian, German, Arabic, and Swahili. Those ones I can communicate the most in, but I’ve picked up phrases from all over the globe over these past 7 years. You’re definitely an inspiration and an aspiration. Also does feel pretty cool knowing I’m not the only one out there. Keep doing you man 🙏🏼.
Didn't expect the answer to be serious but hey, sometimes we need to take a break from things. I finally got my study routine to be pretty consistent, but for a while studying Japanese would give me so many headaches since my personal life was also stressing me out. Taking a few months away did set me back a little bit but I'm now at a point where I can study without feeling like my head is about to explode from my eyes hurting. And the lack of stress also seems to help me remember what I'm learning better.
Just like you said, languages are a distraction. I have been going through difficult times for the last couple of years and studying languages have been a new found hope for me and sometimes feel a little overwhelmed by it, but again, it's supposed to be fun. You may feel a certain pressure to learn more and more since you have a successful TH-cam channel but I think you sharing this is even better because it shows you have limits just as everyone else does. Even that American guy who speaks native-like Japanese took a time off and that boosted his knowledge with time. It will get sorted out, keep it up. Ps. You crack me up and I learn a lot here
For someone who is half Russian and Arabic, fluent in English, it was very enjoyable to watch your pain. Hence, as native speaker, I can not understand and know a lot. They're very hard to grasp and not to mention the different dialects involved. So be proud of yourself for achieving this much! Best of luck dear! 😊
My ex got the surgery and she was coooooked for abt 2 days. Basically just gotta put these lil eye drops in every few hours for a week or so. After about 3-4 days she could take off the eyepatch and see just v blurry, then about a week everything was good and it helped a ton with her migraines. It did end up meaning a new glasses prescription down the line but overall seemed v worth it. It’s also worth mentioning ts was outrageously expensive.
Hey, don't be afraid of the surgery! My aunt got her eye issue fixed like 40 years ago and since she hasn't had any problem. Sure you can find a ton of similar success stories online to get some encouragement.
As a native speaker of these to languages I can’t tell much about the difficulty of learning them but a lot of respect to you for even just trying! That’s amazing
I had this surgery about a year ago (with 38 yo). And I did it in both eyes (around 3 months apart). It's really annoying in the first week and uncomfortable for the rest of the month. But it's a life changer in the way that people interact with you; and the fact that you don't need to worry about your own eyes it's amazing.

Привет из России! In Russia, we have a saying "Не было бы счастья, да несчастье помогло" with the closest equivalent in English being "blessing in disguise". I believe this saying exactly describes you switching over to studying through listening. For me this was a mind-blowing revelation when I was studying English. One day I just quit studying and switched to listening all the time. I started from simple (but entertaining) audio books for teenagers and eventually worked up to scientific literature and podcasts. And all of this was pure fun! Surprisingly, listening a lot has greatly improved my ability to write and speak too. These days I just feel when I write or say something wrong. Listening instead of reading and writing must be especially beneficial for someone studying Russian, since the language has seemingly boundless set of rules. The truth is, you shouldn't study them formally. Just listen and absorb them, your brain will do the rest. The "Bald and bankrupt" guy actually says the same.
@@ispejonas well, perhaps this is because he's using the language just enough for simple everyday interactions so he could keep making hid videos. He doesn't have a job or family in Russia, so no pressure to get better at it. Also, he's not leaving impression of someone listening Russian audio books either :)
Vocabulary, vocabulary, vocabulary, the grammar is hardcore. Like bald says vocab first couple years. It takes truly being in country to work those finer nuances mostly. Or of course everyday use of the language
Right now I try to learn russian too, I even ( no joke ) play the CoD Cold War campaign in russian language to get used to the sound of it in hope to understand the alphabet better. ^^

Just getting to the point of being able to read and understand a third of what's written feels good enough, and I learn a bit of different Latin languages every day (and mostly upping my Spanish to B2). Even if you quit russian, you're still at an amazing level in terms of grammar and pronounciation блять, so i think that you have really nailed этот пиздец какой сложный язык, который даже я бы не выучил if I hadn't spoken it since my чайлдхуд
Dutch words are just too pretty not to know, and 83 of the prettiest words in Dutch are - ver, vlinder, verloren, feest, adem, vaste, veel, verdween, heel, het, heen, voorbij, vandaan, verven, domein, verwaald, drijfzand, lief, leegte, liefde, heerst, einde, zonder, weet, avond, vult, gekomen, centrum, moment, pad, loop, overheerst, vallen, twijfel, vinden, kelde, wald, ter, geweest, vrees, grenzen, verleg, rein, van, stellen, wilde, steeds, verstreken, evenbeeld, bleef, steile, vrede, stem, wens, net, tijd, stille, verwenst, zalig, ochtend, zilverreiger, weer, overwint, heerlijk, zin, hart, beweert, vanaf, kwijt, wolken, mes, verliezen, dwaling, verlaten, rede, trek, tuinhek, brand, verdien, blikje, vertellen, verder, vertrek...

Держись, мужик. Всё будет хорошо!
I'm learning Arabic right now and it's exausting... I haven't even masteredthe whole alphabet and I'm losing hope. I watched this video hoping it'll make me even less motivated and make me quit Arabic... but IT MOTIVATED ME EVEN MORE!! THANK YOU!! ❤❤
Oh, I thought Russian was one of the languages you learn (and you learn almost all of them). It turns out that Arabic and Russian have a special place.
Spasibo za tvoi video, menya priyatno udivlyaet chto this DLC uvlekaet tebya.
Good luck to you, bolshoi nakui
Dang boy, you story is insane! Fact is, I have a lazy eye too due to the flippin retinal detachment. Dude, please, really consider the surgery - it is not as bad as you may think, Jokes aside, I went through TWENTY operations on both eyes, I have experienced triple penetration in my eye, I have seen surgical instruments ISIDE my eye - there was nothing what I saw as clear as a crab thingy. Yet still, I am alive, I am good, I CAN SEE, and I dont know why I wrote all that, considering your case is different but anyway. My point is that you can go through it, cause you are the greatest Gigachad, damn it! So dont worry, trust the professionals, and everything will be great, man. Btw, that thing with a triple penetration - you will not experience it, dont worry - it was a vitrectomy, heh
Glad you're doing well! Thanks for sharing
@@LanguageSimp , I am) Thank you too, man
😂 i had an endoscope and described the instrument as the gaggy crabby hand
Lazy eye... Didn't know this was a thing. So sorry to hear you have this...
I saw some videos from your channel like a year ago one of them was about which language is the harder Arabic or Chinese, I was really impressed hearing you speak Arabic it was amazing

Much love from Palestine, Qalqilia
So proud of you bro❤
Эх, Все же как классно когда ты понимаешь все шуточки из видео, потому что знаешь эти три прекрасных языка!
Bald and bankrupt has spent a lot of time in Russia but his Russian is pretty sloppy.
У этого парня русский намного лучше чем у Б энд Б..ин май хамбл опиниэн..блять =D
@@Alex-dy7hg уй!
Regardless of what you do.... Best of luck & stay safe 🙏🏾😁🤙🏾
This man's not just a polyglot gigachad, he's also a funnisteric comedian. God I'm afraid how many jokes he'll be able to crank out sooner or later.
Симп, ты молодец! Отдохни сколько нужно, возможно поправь здоровье! Операции при косоглазии (
These are the two languages I've been considering 😂
Right now I try to learn russian too, I even ( no joke ) play the CoD Cold War campaign in russian language to get used to the sound of it in hope to understand the alphabet better. ^^
