It would have been cool if the draw under tool could be used with a hot key. I am used a bit more to animating 2d in blender, and for them, if you hold down control and make a selection, that selected area will be filled in real time, closing off any places that needs to be closed and when you leave ctrl, it goes back to normal fill tool.

That happens at the end when you're drawing more lines because linework always comes before any coloring in a production environment. I remember my animation instructor so adamant about it in college even when we used Pencil to Scanned Drawings ! Lol. Drill Sgt's but it helped me to work in processes which makes it waaaay better to complete your work.
In Manga studios they will indicate with their clean up and final line work where the shadow lines go using color but all linework should be done before coloring or else you will keep having a mess to fix as you know already hahaha.🤪🤣

I Haven't used OpenToonz now for yrs since it got so boggy, laggy and just downright frustrating to use. But Tahoma 2D looks like they basically modified all the things Open Toonz left behind. Can't wait to see what this software has to offer! Happy Animating Bud! 👍🏼

you might need to make a video abour the Export/Render aftermath- i have notied all my gifs have numbers and dont know how to get them off , like when you start the gif outside tahoma it shows the numbers of frames you used
can you use shotcuts to enable autoclose, draw behind, etc ? that would be cool

If this works like OpenToonz does and the learning curve isn't that different I'll go for it.
Just one thing, currently I have to work with the mouse. Be nice if we could have a curved based brush tool like Blender's greasepencil.

I tried to export the video to MP4, but during rendering the program crashes to the desktop.
At the same time, the crash does not depend on the number of frames and the presence of meshes on objects
I tried reinstalling the program several times, but it didn't help.
Try restarting the pc/computer (not reset everything where you lose every thing btw) (well first save the project and put it in a file then reset)

Hi, I’m new to both opentoonz and Tahoma, is there a keyboard command to move onto the next frame and one to make a frame go on even longer?
To make a frame go on longer, on opentoonz you click on the top right hand corner of a fram and there should be a tiny banner thing, you can drag that out over how many frames you want to cover, as for moving to the next frame I think you can use the arrow keys

I downloaded this software on my laptop, and when I opened the software everything seemed to be zoomed in(the tools, timeline etc) and IDK why is it like that. Is it because of my laptop or something? or is it because my screen is too small?
@LemonArt you might need to right click and apply it to your graphics Card and put it on High Performance mode. some Laptops have to do this with Nvidia GPU's.
@@sodapop1459 yeah this is also present in OT 1.4. There are 2 ways to fix this:
• create a gpu profile in your GPU Software
• create a gpu profile in Windows itself
Both will have the same effect! Just in case anyone has this happening as well like @LemonArt
How does one download/install this properly? Sorry I just struggle with github.
If you’re ever on a program’s GitHub page, just check the Releases section. There, the latest release is mostly the one on the top. Sometimes you need to expand the little triangle under Assets and the you just download the release. It’s pretty simple once you get the hang of it.
Sometimes there are different versions/alternatives you can download, within a release. If you’re on Windows, on a fairly modern PC, you’ll mostly want a 64-bit version of the program. Look for x64 in the filename.
how did your colors got names? I don't have names in my colors.. :(
Double click them and you can type in a name.
Should I even download Opentoonz if I download Tahoma2d?
I'd try Tahoma first but if it crashes too much then use Opentoonz.

They are both incredibly similar, I would personally recommend opentoonz if you’re a beginner as there are more tutorials on it then Tahoma but if your willing to tough it out and learn as you go along, go for it!
One of the main differences seems to be Tahoma’s horizontal timeline compared to OpenToonz’ vertical X-Sheet style timeline (which I personally don’t fancy).
That coloring took you less than half the time it would've with OT

you can just change the theme in its setting anytime, if you dont like it . also its dark theme by default
i also like the light theme , feel like old macromedia flash.
You can change it im more of a dark mode person so you can got to preference and click interface and you can get the theme you want
