    Q. How have you used the auto-inbetween tool?
    And in what animations do you think it would be useful?

      Thanks Babu.
      I still see users asking questions about this tool, so I wanted to try to make it as straight forward as I could. The 4 steps made sense.
      I might make something a little more complex with this feature in the future, just to show the possibilities.

    These tutorials are magnificent... I'm seriously impressed. You pack a lot of information into a very small space, yet it's comprehensible and incredibly well they're paced!
    I have a request...
    I would love to go through them in a sensible order. Currently, I'm cherry-picking the info I need. It'd be amazing to go through them as a sequence, especially since you allude to "previous videos"... Do you have a Master Class playlist? If you don't, may I suggest you build one? Thanks again for this excellent resource.

      Thank you. I really appreciate you saying that.
      If you go to my channel page, by clicking on my name below any video, you'll see a number of playlists. There's a beginner's playlist there with the most common and most useful videos there.
      You'll also see a few other popular subjects in their own playlist.
      But if you want a more organised view of learning OpenToonz, you can take a look at my course on Udemy you can see the full list of lessons (and watch some for free) by owing this link. This link will give you the best price: discord.gg/FYy4Mg7

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The #1 reason this happens is when you're not using a vector level.

    Very informative video. Do you know a way to link the parts that shouldn't separate, like a leg from a foot, so you could move them similar to the way you would with the skeleton tool? Would this technique work using the tape tool?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can select a number of lines, right click and choose, Group. Then using the selection tool works on all of those lines together.

    Hi! It seems like my version of opentoonz is slightly different... The inbetween button doesn't appear when i select all the drawings in the level strip. Is there an other way to do this? Thank you for the great video!

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's the only way to do it.
      Be sure that you're creating a vector level as this only works on a vector level.

    Hi Darren,
    I was experimenting with the 1's, 2's, and 3's buttons, but each time I click on one, Tahoma2D crashes. Any suggestions? (Other than "don't touch those buttons." 🙃 )

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว

      That last point is a great suggestion 😀
      I'd first say to make sure that you've selected some cells to change.
      You could try to option in the context menu. Select your cells, right click, choose Reframe and change the number of drawings there.
      If that doesn't work, then it's probably worth logging a bug (from the Report a Bug option in the Help menu). Include a screen recording and as much information as you can.
      I've just tried it and it works fine for me, with the latest build. So there's something about your computer, your setup, your build or your project that's causing this issue.

    • @rontarrant
      @rontarrant ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DarrenTAnims Oops! I see the error of my mistake. I had cells in the camera track selected, not the vector track. Still, it shouldn't crash because of this, so I'll log it as whatever-it's-called-when-it-isn't-a-bug-but-is-still-annoying. Thanks for the reply!

    I want to make Levels interact is there a way i can see the rest of the scene while auto inbetweening?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately the auto inbetweening only works from the level strip, so you can only see the 1 level at a time. I would love it if they made this work in the timeline. They would be a huge time saver.

  • @aprogress2374
    @aprogress2374 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Unfortunately, it's does not work like Synfig when working with vector. We need to generate inbetween manually (click this click that) instead just create keyframe on timeline.

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's right. It's not like Synfig. I hope that one day it will be. It was investigated and was working up to a point, but that was a couple of years ago. Fingers crossed for it improving at some point 🤞

    Could you please help - how can I paste some frames between existing frames in timeline? I am working in Tahoma 2D and I do not understand how this works

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does Paste not work for you? Does the image not appear where you want it or doe it not appear at all?

    • @ARIADNARB

      @@DarrenTAnims when I want to do inbetween frame betwen two frames I am unnable to add blank file - only duplicate of previous. This is in raster layer. Maybe there are some hotkeys for add blank frame between two frames?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there are. Alt+D on a blank or extended frame. It's shown in the context menu too.
      So was it a blank frame that you wanted, not a copied/paste frame?

    • @ARIADNARB
      @ARIADNARB ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DarrenTAnims Now I understand about blank. But how to paste another frame betwen two frames? For ex I want to paste frame 17 between 12 and 13. Should I copy at first frime 17 and step on 12 frame and paste? But then I paste on 12 frame, not between them
      It is hard to me understand how to working with worksheets in OT - it is unable to move frames along to timeline. So if I want certain frame move from 10 position to 45 position - I should cut it on 10 position and paste on 45 pos, but if I want to move 10 frames?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a lot of questions there. I need to make a video about using the timeline - there's a lot of detail about this in my Udemy course (links in the description of every video).
      You can cut/copy/paste as you'd expect from any other program. Or you can click and drag the frames by dragging the darker part of the cell. You can highlight many cells and do this. Plus you can hold Ctrl or Alt to insert/overwrite the cells already there.
      I believe there's a description of this in the online guide.
