    Brilliant...I was waiting for this type of topic related to key frames and levelstrips.
    Please make more related videos if possible related to level strip, color strip and their respective keyfames & with their xsheet timeline combination to help in better workflow.
    Thanks for mentioning the use of shift and alt
    It will make my work much easier now.

    Perfect, I needed to learn more about key frames, I would like you to talk about the effects that opentoonz and tahoma have, I know there are many but they are very interesting to learn.
    Greetings DarrenT

      I've made a few videos about the effects, including a walkthough in my last livestream (checkout the timestamps in the description), but I'll be making more as this is an area: th-cam.com/video/JSZ0tRXBl5w/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Darren.
    I have a walk cycle on eight separate PNG's .How do I get them onto the level strip? Thamks

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi.
      You can just drag them in to your scene to use them. But if you want them to load as a single level then you have to have them as an image sequence. I've a video on my channel showing how to add image sequence.

    how to can i delete a specific level strip

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can remove a level from the scene using the scene cast. That's in the browser room or you can open it from the Windows menu.

    Can a custom level strip be saved and reused in other Opentoonz/Tahoma2d projects? If so, how do you save it?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you press Save All, your drawings are all saved to disk, into your project's drawings or extras folders. You can reload those drawing levels in any scene. Just right click on the timeline and choose, load level. Then browse to your drawing level file.

    Very helpful video, but, why doesn't it works with png files? It just says me "single frame", and I just can't stupidly use my png's as drawings. If im trying to drag an png, it just sets to another frame time. So, I don't know what to do. But I wanna use all this features with this function.
    What I can do?
    (It also usually green col, and I can do whatever with it, but imported png's becomming a blue col that isn't able to do anything)

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Great question.
      PNGs will always show as blue as they are just standard raster drawings. Green levels are Toonz Raster drawings, which are different.
      To import PNGs as a single level you have to name them correctly, as an image sequence. The format is:
      name.number.png
      e.g. house.0001.png, house.0002.png
      Do not have numbers in the name and always use 4 digits for the number.
      The way to check what the sequence is, is to render out a frame, or number of frames, as PNGs and you'll see the format.
      Do this and your PNGs will import as a single level. Plus, you'll be able to add more drawings to the level once imported. If you import a single image, you can't add more drawings to it.

      @@DarrenTAnims thanks. Will try it.
      By the way. Would it work if I just import other drawings to the same col, but for bottom frames? Like, would it be still attached to those things that frame on the top was? Or it would be assigned just like another, different part?
      (Sorry for my terrible english)

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Alandl1138 if the drawings are imported separately and not part of an image sequence then they won't all show together in the level strip.

      @@DarrenTAnims thank you. I've got what to do.
      I just need to drag a png image to the same col but to another frame. Like, not to first, but for 10th frame. And it will be accepted as a continue of that col. So, everything works alright.
      So, just thank you for your content. It really helps with a lot of functions in open toonz. There's also really not much amount of people who provides lessons to opentoonz followers, but you do helpful work. Keep doing nice content. I think you may turn a lot of noobs into medium or professional users.

    Hello, can we do multiple layers within a single column frame like other art programs? I was looking closely at that levels strip but I don’t think that’s what that’s used for…

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can have multiple drawings (from different or the same drawing level) in multiple columns, to create a layered image/animation, yes. You add these in the timeline or xsheet.
      The level strip only shows the drawings from one drawing level. You can then drag these into the timeline. Personally I rarely draw in the level strip. I draw in the timeline. I use the level strip as a reference and for organising my drawings.

    Thanks for your helpful tutorials. Question: Rather than drawing in Opentoonz how can I IMPORT my drawings from other programs all into one level. Like for a lip sync "caddy"?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You just need to name your drawings in order. E.g. mouth.0001.png, mouth.0002.png, etc. I made a video showing how to import an image sequence a couple of weeks ago. You'll find it in my video list on my channel
