Very nice with clear photography. This convinced me that this is not a home mechanic project like the old days when one disconnected an in line fuel filter that was external to the tank.

I own a 2011 Tundra. I ran it out of gas once, replaced the fuel pump assembly, had the gauge not working, replaced the fuel pump again, and then had it working somewhat ok (reading less than my actual fuel quantity).
That's steadily gotten more accurate over the last few years.
But, I accidentally ran ot out of gas again. I didn't burn up the pump, but I figure it's time to try again.
My problem is that I don't have a lift and I don't have a proper fixture to bring it down level.
So, I drive until I'm near empty and then it's light enough to drop by hand, with a jack. Though, I had my wife assist a bit because it's so bulky.
This time, though, I don't even have a garage. I'll be doing it on an uneven dirt/gravel driveway. 🤣
I really like making it as difficult as possible for myself, I guess. 😁
It's really not a terribly difficult job, if toy have the right equipment. But, it's such an annoying design.
My mom's 1999 Camry has the fuel pump right under the back seat. It could hardly be easier.

If the fuel gauge is the only problem in your car, then you should change the fuel gauge, but if the fuel pump is also the problem, then you should change the complete assembly, including the fuel filter and the fuel pump and its fuel gauge. will
