Definitely one of the best suggestions. This one is a song, that is very important right now in political terms, as rightwinged opinions and parties as the AfD are gaining more and more social acceptance and there are far too less artists referring to this problem.
Also it might be quite interesting in linguistical terms, as it is mostly written/sung in conjunctive.

Love that song. One translation error that's very small, but makes a difference in the meaning: "Du bist die Geliebte von Osama Bin Laden." is not "You are a Osama Bin Laden lover.", but rather: "You are Osama Bin Laden's lover" ;)

I am so happy to hear another American talking about Die Ärzte! I have been a fan for over 20 years now, and it sucks not being able to talk about one of my favorite bands because no one here knows them. They deserve a lot more International acclaim. If Einstürzende Neubauten and Rammstein can make it big in America, thrre shoild be no reason Die Ärzte can't, except that you literally have to know German to appreciate how good they are, and how funny.
Look for "Die Ärzte English Suite" here on youtube. That's some songs in english. Not comparable to the german lyrics, but also funny. ...But you're right, if you can't get the irony within their words, it's just worth the half.

They are a very famous band here in germany. Tickets for a concert are sold out in a few minutes 😂

If you like Die Ärzte you should listen to the guitarist's other band "Farin Urlaub Racing Team". I recommend iDisco, Newton hatte Recht, Krieg or Insel. He is known for his smart and/or funny lyrics. The music videos are also always worth watching!

Sometimes the Bild has articles about utterly insignificant crap like random celebrity A being pregnant and/or having a fancy new car that matches their fabulous beard and the like.
Other than that it is quite literally made up of fear and hate mongering, naked ladies and the weather report.
Disclaimer: That may not be entirely true, it's been a hot minute (over a decade, actually) since I've taken my last closer look at one of those pre-made pieces of trash that they call a newspaper. Their title pages certainly look like it though, and their publisher is not exactly known for quality journalism in _any_ of its products, of which Bild is the worst.
They may also no longer do the picture of a naked lady on the last page, not sure. I seem to recall being told something along those lines.

Yeah - the Bild is germany`'s (still tamer) version of the UK yellow press. My mother was, ages ago, the second in command of a german publishing company and had the unfortunate luck to have lunch with the back than chief editor of the Bild. She was there when he got the layout for the next day's front page and was pretty disgusted the way he changed everything to make it just that more sensational while killing quite alot of the factual elements, justs to be more inciting.

Rumors say that song was written in the very place i live now - but prior to me moving here. A very small place, everybody knows everything about enyone else. Or even more. Fact is, Farin lived here, some time ago. And listening to the song it feels like it could be true ...

i love seeing your reactions and how you actually try to understand and entertain at the same time. In most of the reactions i find, people don't even try to get any of these things right.
"nicht einmal wie sie heißen" is more like "you not even know their names" and not "you dont know the name of one of them". einmal is here not for eins = one but could be translated as "nicht einmal = not even"

Ok, the "Bild" was already explained, but i don't know, if you know the term "Kripo". In full it means "Kriminalpolizei" which is the german police department for heavier crimes like murder, drugs or everything that comes with organised criminality. :)
I always thought this song sounds exactly like Ishindenshin from Orange Range, which came out first. I have a lot of respect for Die Ärzte, so to this day I'm still wondering how that happened.
If it's the whole song it's coincidence if it's parts or aspects it's probably deliberate. I remember the booklet of their early 90's best of to be full of details about what part of what song was inspired by which artist, so it's not like they ever made a secret out of their homages or denied credit to the originals.

E at the end of a word is not pronounced o in either language, so I just don't get how you ended up there. I thought at first that it was just a stumble but you repeated it, so it must have been deliberate.
The only reason I can think of is that you actually misread the e as an o.
To be clear, I would not have said anything if it was a beginner at German. It's because your pronunciation is otherwise quite good that it stood out.

@@SethinBerlin Yes i am very sure. Just compare it to other peoples videos. I have my audio on a 5.1 AVR and had to increase volume about 1/4. Yes your other videos tend to be low on volume too. :D
Its a minor inconvenience. But i have the max volume set on my AVR which fits for everything. When i have to turn it up like that there is either something wrong with the source, or i wanna let my neighbors participate... :D
