I’m a 25, American male. Discovered Death in Paradise a few years ago while flying somewhere. Then got my family hooked on it when it came to Netflix, it is our go to that everybody can agree on. Now, it is the ONLY show we have ever paid extra for on Amazon Prime, since it has left Netflix. Also, I love this latest cast in season 9, although the original cast is still my favorite! Can’t wait for Camille to come back!!!
I too love this show and I am really surprised it has lasted as long as it has. Good old fashion entertainment, a likable cast and a well written mystery. Everything critics hate so much. The seasonal budget must be very, very expensive considering everything and everyone must be transported to and maintained on location and there is little or no studio work (most every shot is filmed outside and not on an enclosed set). I hope the producers continue to make good decisions and it lasts for a very long time.
Me and my family sit down every week to watch this! And also, I’m a teenager and I love this show so Ralf is definitely correct! Neville is probably the silliest of the detectives so far 😂
The way she had performed on the show felt like being inspired by the way MARION RAMESY did it on POLICE ACADEMY - their individual comecic style is simiilar. I really regretted it when Shyko Amos had left DEATH IN PARADISE Ralf Littls MR. MONK like perfoirmance on the show also has soething
Gosh I love this show but I really miss the original cast. Richard, Camille, Fidel and Dwayne. I did enjoy Humphey and Florence but it really is not the same without them. Still a fan though maybe some of the original staff can make guest appearance. Sorry Richard was killed off ..he was my favorite.
You've probably seen, but all but season 8 are available on BBC I Player, so you can relive the original episodes :). I only discovered the original episodes a couple of years ago, didn't realised it was someone different to Humphrey until then. I too like it still. A show that just makes you feel warm due to the sunny location, and not a show that takes itself too seriously, and being overall fun.
Well said. I do like the interplay between Little and Warrington. I think if Neville were half as charismatic as Ralf, Madeline would be as fond of him as Camille was of Richard. The "chink in the armour" is how Dwayne would have reacted to him: Selwyn and Dwayne would have become inseparable due to their mutual disbelief or disdain. If ever there were an excuse to re-sign DJJ :-)))
I am enjoying the new cast! They are doing a wonderful job in what must be a hot setting. I am enjoying the Dynamics that each player brings to the show.

If Corona hadn't started I would have spent my this year's Easter vacation in Deshaies , Guadeloupe. I was about to book that famous murderous hotel for a two week's stay .
I absolutely love her as Ruby on the show. However, I did notice that this interview was leaning more towards the guy. He clearly took over the conversations and the interviewers barely gave Shyko enough time to shine. I wonder was this the last time she interviewed before announcing Ruby's character would not be returning. Love you Shyko. Maybe I am wrong about this guy, but he just seems arrogant to me.
Original team was the best ! Can't beat Richard Pool! They should not have killed him I think it would have been better if he'd had to return to London for some reason. Humphrey could of been his backup. And showed Richard maybe talking to Humphrey. But no one was as good as Richard and his team!
We ADORE this show, but we have been puzzled: Why, when Jack Mooney was being investigated for events surrounding Florence's shooting, did they bring in someone from Paris, rather than London?

I loved the show from the very first episode , however i now feel the show is starting to become a farce. OK he does suffer from the heat etc but why so much time spent scratching his head or spraying its starting to put me and my family off watching the show. Lets remember the original books which used this as a small issue and concentrated on the story line.

Not sure if they will include his stretching or whatever in every episode, if they do,it could get very boring after a while. I know all the lead detectives have their special quirks (wearing a suite, clumsiness etc), however maybe they are taking things a little too far with this one. The thing with me is I liked tbe others from tbe first episode. This guy I still am not sure whether I like him.
Absolutely cannot stand this new detective. He's irritating and there's nothing about him that's even endearing. I miss Camille the most - the show lost its sass!

Wow, Shyko is British?! I had no idea...there's not a hint of her accent when she played Ruby...love her!!!!
I love all 4 inspectors - Ralf Little's Neville Parker is my personal favorite! But I love them all!

You are wrong. Have spoken to him inbetween takes. Very down to earth and friendly is my opinion.

Love this series. Although not sure about him being the lead to be honest. Hopefully he will grow on me but so far not a fan. Fingers crossed.
