Jack Mooney and Humphrey Goodman were my favourite detectives. I love this show, I’m so glad I can go from the beginning to the recent episodes of this show
That’s because they were quirky but very good at what they did. Also, got on most easily with co-workers and friends. Closest to “normal.”
I'd love a spin -off with Jack going home to the UK, only to have a murder investigation involving a dead habitue of St Marie turning up in Britain. Marvelous way to catch up with fan favourites😁

I know it is amazing I have watched every episode about 4 times
One thing I love about our current inspector, Neville Parker, is that he has a bit of every previous inspector in him. He started out like Richard, before becoming lovable like Humphrey, and halarious like Jack.
Now that you say that I've now noticed that with him, so I do wonder if the next detective or a future one will be the same but with aspects of neville

best out of all the DI's Saint Marie had. he fitted in so well with the community
Jack was really. I think series 8 was his best one all because he really showed the father figure to his sergeant in the series.

Brilliant! Ardal was great in this. Perfect casting, and very lovable.
He was the only one who didn’t have trouble with women. His quirk was his endearing flamboyant personality. He tried to fit in, unlike the others.
I liked him because of all of the squad leaders, he was the only one who tried to fit in with St. Marie society and culture. He even had a girlfriend.
Only recently discovered this wonderful show here in the US. I must get more !!!!!

Interesting. Ralf was actually the one who got me interested in the show. The first time I watched it was the most recent Christmas special.
Ralf is good too. He may have annoying issues but he is smart underneath all that. All of them have been good on this show.
