Congrats on your new ride. Jags are nice and if you can fix'em yourself, you have already come out ahead. Remember, that v-8 can pass anything on the road except for a gas station!
Mine gets 25.3mpg on the freeway at 72mph….and overall city and highway is always around 18.9-21 just depending how I drive…usually when it’s cooler out I drive harder because more ignition timing from ECU lol but yeah for 500 plus horse I’ll take 25mpg on highway
To call this a beautiful car is an understatement. I own a 3.0 litre petrol xf and I think that it's a stunner. I can't afford a 5.0 litre SC (although I'd love to) I'm glad to see that you are and long may it continue.
Great car, great color! I love my 2010 Kyanite Blue XFR - it's 10 year old and people can't believe it's not new. Great performance value - I love Jaguar depreciation!
Bought mine in march, 2012, its a beast. I love it when people think its a diesel XF then you tell em its a 5l Supercharged V8. The only problem is you can never go back to a normal 1.6l hatchback. Lol
Welcome to the club, I love my 2013 facelift XFR! Enjoy, but be careful in the winter she's going to be a bit of a handful but I'm sure you're up to it 🙂
My son has this beautiful machine, supercharged on wheels and front bonnet. A much deeper red, maybe this pillar box red is just rendered by my tablet. He tells me only 1200 were made in this spec, and it took over 2 years to find one in this condition.
One of the best sounding production car engines I've heard when it's on full chat. Search youtube for jaguar xfr high speed test - the sound is incredible, like a world war two fighter plane dive bombing as it goes past.
My dad has a 2010 XFR had it for 3 years has 54k miles literally 0 problems apart for the ac that was an easy fix. We fitted a 1 of 1 Cat back Xpipe. No other xfr sounds like ours
I have never purchased a car where the dealer didn't put AT LEAST 1/4 tank of fuel in it. Most of the time, they've filled it up. Still. A beautiful car. Much nicer than the trash in my yard... although my wife loves her Audi. I will add that Ben has added... a certain... flair to the content. Well done.
I made the mistake of going up against a Jag F-Pace with that engine in it with my turbo Mazda CX-5 at a stoplight-stoplight. Needless to say I didn’t see the badges until I caught up to him at the next light. Let’s just say that a turbo 2.5 doesn’t hold up well to a supercharged 5.0. 💨😆😂
I've had one of these a few years now and it's nuts. The 0-60 time really doesn't do it justice. They can very easily be taken up to 700bhp with not a lot of mods
Well underrated car, silly fast (in reality rather than just pure stats), pretty sweet handling, very refined & waftable. They are quite thirsty though!
I’ve had one for 4 yrs now it’s a great car, mine has all the trimmings and it’s gorgeous you will spend a lot of time at the filling station lol. Selling mine in the new year sadly for something more sensible.
I got the 250 facelift. I ended up with the 3.0 D as I was after the fuel economy. I drive some long distances in Oz but, it really is a wonderful place to be.
That does sound quite lovely at the end there. I'm just logging on to Pistonheads to see what price they go for (just a little christmas gift - nothing to see here wife)..
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with that drivetrain. I have an XFR and a 1982 Fiat Spider. They both are running great right now and I hope they stay that way but it would be a mad scientist's dream to drop 510 HP in a Spider!
@@gavinbartram6326 As Richard said, that was him confusing the odometer with the range display. Usually range estimate doesn't display such low values (for obvious reasons). They just say "refuel now!" when it dips below 30km or so.
I’ve got an XF and this model doesn’t support Bluetooth streaming music, get a PALOVUE Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver off Amazon, best £16.99 I’ve ever spent and Uber reliable connection wise.
Don’t know much about car sales in the UK but here in the states those types of used car dealerships have a justifiably poor reputation. Their inventory consists mostly of salvage title cars bought by Eastern Europeans, dodgily repaired and sold to unsuspecting buyers. They also purchase vehicles sent to auction by franchise dealers because they’re too expensive properly repair.
Noice! Same age and spec as my Portfolio S Pretty much (I had the B&W Stereo, plush mats and VERY expensive headlining) . If the alarm goes off randomly it's a feature. There's a simple fix. I also had both lower Rear wishbones replaced for knackered bushes but you shouldn't be worried about that if it's only short-term.
I scratched the big supercharged V8 itch a few years ago by buying an E55k merc. The novelty of the power and sound soon wore of when the highest MPG i could achieve was 20 by driving like my grandma. Note to self......do not type XFR into the ebay search bar.
I have got over 32mpg in my XFR. Also the only $ i have spent on repairs is $28 coolant hose for the transmission cooler and a couple batteries in 6 years.
New BOM channel! Shut up and take my money! .... errr wait a sec.... no... please don't shut up please keep sending us what ever you crazy lot can find the time to film! :)
hope the new channel works out well. We have wondered what you guys do between Binky updates. I suspect Nik gets shoved into a closet full of brackets . Some of the things I like here is that one sees what the UK looks like from ground level. Pretty much like anywhgere else. Were I a tourist in the UK or just about anywhere else I would be looking in garages and sheds out behind the barns and the like. Yiur Jaguar here looks like the perfect candidate to swap a driveline out of and into your 'business killer MG' enough leftover parts to finance a new set of tires and some lunch.
What is it with British dealers and giving you a car with fuck-all in the tank? I remember my dad picking up a used Toyota mumblety years ago and having the same thing, not enough petrol in it to get to a petrol station. In America, they'd get shut down if it wasn't as close to full as they could get it...
We picked up a nice little Rover 216S in the early 90s from a scurrilous little dealer and the poor bloody thing literally ran out of fuel in the premises as we drove out! The tightwads had to put a whole Jerry can in to get her moving again as she was blocking a shared access road, haha! Turned out to be a cracking little car though despite such a bad start thanks to a skinflint outfit!
Savage cars. I just traded my 2011 XF for an F Pace..... 🙈 the XF was a fabulous car but yes tyres and brakes disappear fast. And cheap aftermarket disks and pads won’t work for long. Expect to replace door locks and window regs too.
I wanted to swap one of those into a Ford Focus. I then remembered I don't have the fabricating know how that Nik does, so that project would have quickly faceplanted.
Managed to get one for just over 8k a month ago. Safe to say about 300in petrol this month 😂😂😂. Just an insane car. Keep an eye on the supercharger coupler knock and waterpump with hoses. Maybe a gearbox service and diff oil if it hasn't had that done. Following!
There is a video on youtube of a channel talking about to 1001hp version of the MG and how the PR people overhyped the car and they then road tested the normal MG SV car. The channel was lent the car from one of the rover designers and he set up shop selling and building the MG SC cars due to he had brought most of the bodies and parts of the car that where available - I think the video said he has 64 bodies and enough parts to build 62 cars

Very dodgy looking indeed,it is a place I'd avoid.. but the BOM guys can fix the inevitable hidden issues I'm sure
Probably not as dodgy as you lot 🙂
7 years of sporadic SVR updates incoming! YAY!
This would make a decent engine for an MG SV.
I think that the reason why they brought it
Beats using a Coyote.
Think you might be on to something there 👀
Duh...
Do you think they can double the power out of it for the mg?
