The FN 545 is an improvement over the FNX 45. The newly released 545 is shorter, a bit slimmer, and less heavy; also, the striker-fired trigger system makes it more practical than the chunkier, heavier FNX 45 double/single action. I am impressed and happy with my 545, which can be carried concealed in an OWB Kydex holster. It is a matter of wanting to, without seeking maximum comfort.

Just ordered it after watching. I had the FN 509 Tactical and liked it, but sold it. I then bought the “LAPD” version of the FN 509 and it’s amazing. They upgraded the striker and they come with the flat trigger which is really nice. The testing they did on that gun was pretty intense. Mine just wants to run. Never had an issue with it and it’s a real shooter. I can’t find a solid IWB holster that accommodates an X300, otherwise I’d carry it. If you know of one, please let me know. Love the channel man, good stuff.
I love shooting my FNX 45-T, and appreciate the differences (hammer fired, decocker, etc.). I also love my 509 compact tactical, which I upgraded with all the Apex upgrades prior to FN coming out with their spicy 509. The 545 is on my list... maybe... but would I shoot it if I've already got the FNX 45T? Not sure....

When they got the stippling correct on the thumb rest, but did not get the other stippling correct everywhere else. What do you have? A gun that could have been better, but instead it’s just ok. What were they thinking??
I live in a state blessed with endless mountains and outdoors which do include many large predators like bears, wolves, mountain lions, etc. 45 is a great outdoors carry round which I'll usually pack with a shoulder harness style holster which allows for a backpack and my longtime duo of Glock 17 and Ruger AR style PCC with the Glock mag option. Bears and such don't have any real desire to hurt me or me them but they are a consideration and risk that anyone would be a fool not to take into account. FN looks like it's done a great job with this gun, perfect for those who dig getting lost in the wilderness.
I would love to see how you pack 45 acp rounds in your long time duo of Glock 17 and Ruger PCC wich by the way it's not AR stile. I'm pretty sure that both fireams you mentioned are chambered in 9mm

Glock 17 on my belt and the Ruger 9mm model 19122 breaks down into two parts with push of a button which I have modified a backpack one part on one side one part on the other just above my sleeping bag. Even easier when snowmobiling, riding around in a side by side or an ATV. Snowshoeing or X-country skiing you basically apply the same methodology as hiking. Apologize to purists for calling a 9mm PCC "AR" style. Whatever you want to call that Ruger I'll concede.
I thought 45’s slow velocity made it less effective against bigger animals and that 10 mm was a much better alternative. Have you used a 45 against larger animals before was it effective?
Going to get the 510 tac myself. I already carry the cz p09 which is 1 ounce lighter than the 510 tac. So simple to carry if you get a good holster and a good weight bearing gun belt. Not that difficult to conceal carry if you like full size gun carry like I.
Aliengearholsters canik the position iwb , being 6'1 245 pounds it's comfortable, I do believe that near the end of the day, the weight does wear on the belt line. I carry the fnx 45 and it's the same frfr. Plus 20+1 45acp. So I agree however it's really the season for micro compact given its summer ☀️ but afterwards I'm back to my full sized. I currently am carrying my 503 and reflex together, iwb. Even that begins to wear near the end of the day. Definitely comfortable nevertheless. I have mu sig 365 macro and my mete 9 in rotation just depends on the outfit.
I carry the Full size 509 tactical as my edc I can get away with carrying that full size gun appendix I wonder if I could get away with appendix carrying this. I’ll have to upgrade to a garrison belt.
Love the .45 Round because of the hole it leaves. For concealing a FA of this size just doesn’t do it for me. Love live the Glock 27 for CCW and leaves a pretty good sized hole in the bad guys.
I thought you were joking big time about the FN trigger being great but you never said yeah right so you must be serious. You're the first person I've ever heard liking their triggers. I only hear how bad the triggers are and I have to agree. They're worse than Glock triggers and I change them out the day I get them.
Striker fired pistols are not my cup of tea. Sorry I do love my Fnx's, I have three, and they made a believer out of me real quick. But trading out the FNX for a stinking striker fired pistol, nope, nope, nope. No, not even.

Buy a 510 instead that way you have 10mm and a 45 instead of 2 45s.

I've found Federal HST to *SMOKE* the Sig ammo in every way.
I have both. Sig is great, but Federal HST is king.
