The pen magnetically attaches to the side of the tablet. Placing it on the back is to charge it. It doesn't need to be charged to be used, it needs to be charged to do those air actions and use it as a Bluetooth remote.

I guess we all need to agree that tab s7+ is the real competitor to the ipad pro. Both are awesome pieces of tech. But tab s7+ us the best when it comes to Android
It comes with a pen, has dex, and still expand to 1 terabyte. Honestly, it now makes it harder for me to choose the iPad Pro
I just bought an iPad Pro about 2 months ago and I’m seriously considering selling it for one of these
Plus the main point - the AMOLED display, which is about one universe and half better than an IPS LCD display.

Not gonna lie, as someone who has only bought iPad's, this is the first Android tablet I Wanna buy. 865+, 120Hz OLED damn.
The basic S7 has a LCD screen against the AMOLED screen of the S6 from 2019 and no in screen fingerprint scanner 120 hz refresh rate is meaningless if display quality is compromised! I am no Apple fan but the S7+ is no competition to the iPad pro! Another missed opportunity Samsung

Dear Tim, You didn't cover everything in this video, you can use Samsung Dex to make it like a laptop, its very important feature in this device you forgot to mention!!!

I think this is perfect, it’s competing with the iPads and the Microsoft surface devices, the iPad/iPad Pro is closer to the iPad (this is not a problem) and the Microsoft surface devices are closer to a laptop (also not a problem) but this Samsung tablet is what I would choose because it’s like the iPad and with dex it can be a laptop.
Wait till the S8 tablet in 2021 The S7 will soon be out of date

Samsung honestly hit the sweet spot with this new Tab gadget they made. Everything from the pen functionality, the Tab cover, and the keyboard gave this Tab that awesome all-around usability to it.
Plus the more Landscape-oriented design made it all the more intuitive for all sorts of users.

I’ve been using the 2018 iPad Pro since it came out and I absolutely love it. I used to have the 12 inch Galaxy Note Pro tablet for a while and that was my favorite tablet for a long time until the iPad Pro. But now this thing looks very promising! Definitely a competitor to the iPad for sure! And I love how the case comes in two parts so you can still keep the back protected and the pen secured and still stand it up to consume media and what not. Wish the iPad had a back cover like that.
I'm really looking forward to buying this.

@@user-bp8yg3ko1r Yes, on paper. But you can't just put the fastest processor in and it just works flawlessly.
Software/hardware integration is key. Having the best hardware doesn't matter if the software isn't optimized for it. Look up the Pixel Slate and you'll see what I mean.
Also, you have lack of updates with Samsung, as well as, their products not necessarily aging the best in terms of keeping the speed up.
I'm curious to how this holds up overtime, I really want it to be good

But having great Hardware is also key.
I would never buy an iPad because it will force you into the expensive ecosystem.
I also dislike the existence of the Face ID sensor sweet in the bezel. (Not easy to cover). It also lacks expandable storage and a fingerprint scanner. The IPS panel is also horrible for editing pictures, especially lowlight pictures. + Samsung is including the Pen while Apple is charging extra for that. It depends on who you are and what your needs are. For me the Tab S7 + is an excellent choice...

It's been a couple months now since I've bought this tablet and it is great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxAxiUS5CgVC3j8FwNOHt037zhsquGQpXv The tablet is responsive and runs well. There were a few times that the tablet did an awkward thing where it would detect pen on at all times and wouldn't register finger press, but it is usually fixed by closing and opening either the screen or app. This is highly likely due to my excessive use for drawing which caused this and wasn't really very big. As I mostly enjoy using the tablet for drawing (and some light gaming), I would comment from that aspect that there is definitely more accurate pressure and drawing using a PC device and drawing tablet, however i find the moveablity of the tablet more enjoyable to draw on. Like how you can physically rotate and move a piece of paper around or even draw casually on your bed.All in all, as a tablet it is good, and as a drawing device can be good depending on what you want from a drawing device. It is definitely good enough if you just want to use it to take notes. For typing though I can't comment on the keyboard as I did not get the keyboard.

Great review as always Tim. I bought the Lenovo Duet a month back and was going to give it to my son when the Tab s7 came out but I'm tempted to buy another Duet mainly because of the rumored price point. The only thing I think I'll be missing is the display and maybe the pen.

Hasanuz Zaman Samsung will never be number 1 in tablets due to the software support behind them and the app developers. Throw all the specs and features you want in there, doesn’t mean anything unless the apps are optimised for it.
Will it have compatibility on any of Adobe Creative Cloud apps though - apps like Photoshop/Lightroom and Premiere and if they get full support on this then it'll probably be a serious competitor for that price point.

One question is that many people say only newer OLED TVs and dynamic AMOLED screen only can show HDR 10+ Content , then how come super AMOLED can display HDR 10+ content 🤔 ??
The led part of the display is exactly the same with super amoled as amoled. The only difference is super amoled has a touch sensitive layer integrated into the display.

I wish apple did the same for the keyboad case. The separate kickstand, and a detachable keyboard/cover.

I want to see how smooth the pen actually looks when you are writing/drawing.
If that pen has the same latency as the Note 20 Ultra (9 ms) then it would be _smooth._ Like, *super smooth.* 9 milliseconds of a difference from when you press the pen and the pen writes.

Hey Tim, you know how the Tab S6 had this non-uniform display issue which was only kinda visible in low brightness and people said that's a problem with AMOLED screens? Does the Tab S7 suffer the same problem ?

Would you upgrade to this from galaxy tab pro? I've been having the tab pro for like 7 years and it won't show in samsungs trade in. Its still clean and all just that I've felt it slow down for sure especially multitasking and I just started using it again for school. This is a 2014 model
chrome os needs that sidebar, widgets, and that 3-4 app split screen in tablet mode

Hi Tim, I've been using a Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 in Tablet W/LTE since k first got wind of it in 2015. It's been an amazing tool with so many chatting edge featured that you could not believe them unos you actually saw them in action. I've long waited this day. Finally 9 Samsung has created a worthy successor, and I'm eagerly awaiting the crazy it goes on sale.. I want it fully outfitted and ready to face whatever may be for the next five years. I desperately needed the power and screen real estate that this tablet brings with it. Thanks for the lady well detailed into to the S7+'s. attributes. I'll let you know how well this meets expectations within a well pit two after getting my tablet.

How do you protect the screen!! So you just walk around with the screen open unless you buy the keyboard it will be the only way to protect it?

I've got the S20+ and tab s6 and optical is much better. Ofc a bit slower but I can put any glass screen protector and not an annoying one that needs 1000 steps and costs half a kidney
