I just bought the SLA075. I gotta say, I fell in love with the levels this dive watch category offers from Seiko. The only difference with the on the video are outer black with middle dark gray tones on the dial and a silicone black rubber strap at $2800. My girlfriend helped me buy it. So it was a no brainer 🤙🏾💯
Great buy! The SLA075 was released a few months after the SLA073 and I think it looks better than this blue one. Especially if it has a bracelet. Glad to know she supported you buying an expensive watch man. Haha. Thanks for watching!
Huge +, Seiko has returned , finaly returned a CHAPTER RING!!!!! Also, 8L35!( what, batherway, version? 8L35B or next 8L35C???) Thickness of Metal braselet is perfect. Not thin, like in Uyemura Turtle Series. Just right size! Look forward for expansion of this Series!
Like you mentioned in the video, i’m just waiting for a black bezel and black dial(sunburst would be nice) version of this watch to release sometime in the future and i will jump in on the purchase immediately, hopefully Seiko make it happen🤞
Great watch high-quality movement, but he should have done something with the accuracy with so many other watches the same price with better accuracy. The only thing it's got is for it should last a long time movement wise Great video
If you're referring to the SLA's which feature an 8L35, I would disagree. I'm getting within COSC with my SLA065, and I've seen videos on here where it outperforms a Rolex. Not to mention fit and finish are far beyond top Swiss watches like Tudor/Rolex.
I find the new Prospex GMTs (SPB 381/383) have more in common with these SLA models than the SPB185/187 - chunkier, ceramic bezels that slope down with a more pronounced knurling, vs. the slimmer, flat, coin edge bezels. So if you're looking for a black dialled SLA073/075, the SPB383 fits the bill IMHO
I bought a SLA055 new at 3500 usd, at first sight, it appears that Seiko rip off buyers like us, but i you look closely, sla055 is finished to a even higher degree, definitely made by grand seiko, the obvious difference are the hands, look at them and see how 073 hands looks inferior compared to 055 hands, ever brilliant steel also makes it so special, buy i see value in the bracelet 😅 of this version

Any chance they fit an SLA021, do ya think? Bracelet looks great if aftermarket clasp added. I wish they would start using the micro adjust bracelet on the LX GMT models on more divers.
Hi Kirby - great video. I'm back in the market and have my eyes set on an SLA055. The price since it launched has tanked, so I can get a new one from Japan for the same cost as the SLA073. Based on that would you go for the 055 over the 073?
The 055 is just better finished in every way. You can get a GS bracelet on it SBGE033, which costs a lot, but if you are fine with the strap the 055 is the better option, especially if you can get it for the price of the Sla073.

Seiko have lost the plot. Too many versions of the same thing. What's going on with that awful dial? It's getting harder and harder to differentiate between models. Drives me mad Kirb!
In this particular model, it sounds like they ripped off the sla055 057 buyers. I like the size of the watch Gethin, but I have to agree that dial is just terrible! Definitely man! Seiko watches are just categorized in a mess.

Yeah that’s right. Despite it looking the same. The build quality of the sla055 is superior.
