      @@johns1187 I watch the video till the end. They put all the excess material in the grass on the edge. They did not cut the edge of the driveway it splattered all over. And the middle of the driveway has footprints. Which the footprints will be even more noticeable when it dries. This is the best job if you want to "cut all the corners"

      I waited till the end and I saw three major mistakes. 1.) 4:00 - 4:06 You left so much excess on the edge of the grass- black grass does not look good, 2.) 4:00 you did not cut in the edge of the driveway so you ended up with splatter on the road- uneven line of sealer does not look good, and 3.) 4:08 you left footprints in the middle- seeing footprints (once dried) on a freshly sealed driveway is displeasing for the homeowner.

    Looks like a lot of people commented before seeing the entire video. If you watch, they run the long way and then side to side and they covered their prints. By the end, it was a job well done.

    • @Carpaintry_of_God
      @Carpaintry_of_God 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There was three mistakes. All around the four-minute Mark you can see. Two of which are very major, at least to the paying client homeowner.
      1.) They did not cut the edge of the driveway where it meets the road. 4:00
      2.) 4:00 - 4:06 the Sides of the driveway where it meets the grass, the grass is covered with the excess sealer. They used too much and they pushed it over into the yard, though grass can be cut and grows back those clients are displeased upon seeing that because it's not eye-pleasing nor does it seem professional.
      3.) They did not pull behind themselves I only pushed in front of them so that means when the sealer dries Footprints will be visible. Again it's not pleasing to the customer. Even though the driveway will get dirty again it's the fact that it's a Fresh coat and it's not I pleasing.
      At least for me the clients matter more than the job. And if anyone's trying to start a business I suggest caring more for the client than just getting the job done quick. Even if the job was done correct without taking any shortcuts it's still would have been a quick job.
      Suggestions:
      cut the edges of with the driveway with a brush that you can handle I would make a good line, especially use at the front of the driveway make a straight line that meets the road.
      Pull squeegee or brush from behind, I recommend a squeegee. And that way you won't get your feet in it saving your shoes but also having a nice appearance in the driveway.
      don't put down an excess amount of sealer if you don't need to only use what you need.

People that put this on real thick don’t realize that after a while it starts peeling and flaking because it has sand in it..sand separates..you’re better off to thin it down like 25% and do two coats it will last for years! trust me I’ve been seal coating for 40 years.Over 40 years I put it on every which way you can think of and what I found out what makes it last longer is by using a brush coater specially made for applying sealer and doing two thin coats.

      Latex Ite is a good Sealer. But I recommend everyone to apply early in the morning and is possible on the shade, also add same water, 20%, it will make the sealer easy to apply, taking more time to start dry, any sealer has to be done quicker, when starts dry is hard to give the driveway a good finish.

      If you start your own business make sure you don't do what they did. Make sure you cut in the driveway from the road don't just splatter it on the road. Make sure you don't put the excess of that amount back on to the yard. Make sure you use enough for the job but not too much that you put a lot on the grass. You should cut in your edges first, then work by pulling the sealer.
      Clients will thank you later and most likely call you back.
