Is paying a guy to sand, and buying sand, and a guy to drive a truck, and a guy to come to work, and a guy that knows what the fck sandig a crater even means...is that better than using rubber... or do i gotta be superman do it all. Sometimes it takes hours to fill sand on a lets say 20k linear ft job. Give the guy a break before you ruin his life with this comment.
Those cracks should have never been filled. They were way to large and were likely a sign of large problems underneath. That section should have been removed, the sub base repaired and new asphalt laid down. Probably not the expense the client wants, but it will have to be done eventually. Do it now and it will cost far less than if you wait. If you had to fill those, you should have used a backer material to fill the cracks before you put in the hot sealer.
You answered your own question. There is no "owner". It is a church. You can go donate $$$$ to every church that needs this. Otherwise this is a functional fix that will prevent cars from being damaged as they drive.
Question... how thick can you apply sealer? To the point where you won't see crack sealer ad blemishes underneath? Great videos. Paver just laid my asphalt driveway too thick and left ripple cracks under pressure of the roller and a few porous areas not well compacted. I'm afraid it will crumble in that area. Thanks.
@@jaygee6983 too much hot asphalt laid in one pass caved in under the pressure of the roller causing cracking. Should be 2 inches at a time. He laid 5-6 inches at a time in some spots so he wouldn't have to come back. Will do better due diligence next time.
I’m not sure if I would blame it on being applied too thick. I would say he either compacted it too much, or compacted it while it was no longer hot enough
I would have heated up some asphalt, put it down into the cracks to build a foundation, then put all that rubber in there and black Beauty sand on top 👍
Honestly Dave an this is no disrespect. Rubber Squeegees are better for overband. Cleaner look and smoother. I can pump and pull V like no other. Gimme a kettle an a stick an Im gone.
Been in the Seal coat business a few years part time been paving for 30 + years these videos are very helpful ! Thanks for sharing your experience
little bit of play sand to fill in majority of the crack works well too to get rid of the issue with sinking, lots of wasted material

LOOKS LIKE YOU NEED TO CRACKFILL IT AGAIN. IT ALL SANK
I think it rises over time depend what kind or tar or road fill you use
It dose not rise rubber sinks
It sinks because of the water that is in the crack
Thanks for all the informative videos, my daughter an I are going to tackle grandmas drive thanks to you!
Hi Mr. May i know what liquid sealant you used.
I'm a simple man, i see a dave strand video and i press like.
Overband with a sqeegee pulling a v is way cleaner and better then a boot. Those are messy an dont look the best.
I would of probably would of done a long patch for the wide cracks and sealed the smaller crack
What type of machine is this?
You probably don’t have a tow behind crack/crater filler like I do, but some cheaply put together DIY machine will work just fine.
Love it dave ! Very informative keep up the good work

i'd pre-fill with sand

Shut up picker. Not everyone has tons of money to do all that

"Well, we hust finished striping... cracks are sealed"
LITERALLY A CRACK TO HIS LEFT 😂
Well done guys, but is this "prime coat" material?
Was there an earthquake before?
I would have heated up some asphalt, put it down into the cracks to build a foundation, then put all that rubber in there and black Beauty sand on top 👍
Nice job, Sir
do you have an update on how long the crack filler lasted, given that that parking lot probably needed new paving?
24 months

Very nice! What brand an model striping did you use??
Nice job buddy
Mastic would have done wonders for these craters!
I bet that smells lovely
Love it!! nice job Dave
Don't you have 2 grind out cracks
Nice video like always!
Those cracks need to be filled with asphalt. Sir .
It doesn't look like the cracks were filled level with the original height of the lot.
Why are you not using sand in the cracks first? That's a lot of wasted product.
next time try and fill them in with some sand. the bubbles are bad. they create too much drop.
Come and do our church man that looks great!!
Very Good!.
Thank you
Do you really have to explain every little detail?
One of your guys is gonna get a face of rubber one day putting the blocks in like that
should have used backer Rod maybe.
IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP.
Wish I could work for you
Ace asphalt, I Working 23 years on this trade many ways to crack fill, pro$$$$$ per line foot!
Perfect to fix an earthquake crack
don’t be shy. put some more
Ideally needs proper repair, at the minimum should have a fill material placed in there.
interesting in front of church he is not mentioning that he is the greatest ...
Die Fuge sollte deutlich mehr Überlappung haben!
Why are you yelling?
Do you not hear the very loud machinery being used in the background? It's either deaf or stupid. Take your pick.
So you stopped selling KFC?
Aus der Teer Spritze kommt defenitiv zu wenig und zu unregelmäßig Material raus!
look like omman candy dough
High dollar job!
*why am I here*
Sounds like after I eat Taco Bell
Next time fill the cracks with sand and then crack it works a lot better
More creepy doll vids dave
What a noise, lol.
They're not craters! They are canions!
Viel zu wenig Durchfluß!
