I was hammering on a chisel back in 97 trying to get a bearing race out .the mushroom part of the chisel shot into the top of my knuckle and remained there until a week ago .a surgeon removed it after 24 years in my knuckle
The longer bolt is also to tighten the timing cover in that particular section too. If you look around the timing cover, you will notice a generous distance between the timing cover bolts in that area. It just performs double duty as a governor housing AND timing cover bolt.
Your going to have to bore out those holes and machine a press fit insert machined to the proper ID"s and rethreaded. Welding or brazing the bore might work but you will still need to line bore the holes and rethread. You may want to solicit the help of a machine shop to restore the peace to it's proper tolerances. Good luck.
I would have grabbed a Speedi Sleeve and fitted it to the front pulley mount, any grooves will pull oil out making it leak still a Speedi Sleeve removes that.
Will a machine shop repair the threads. Sometimes depending on the shop they will weld metal back in machine it down then put threads back in it. Its your tractor though do what you think is best. Been watching you for many many years now and still love the videos. Thanks
I would send a letter but I tryed back in February 2020 but it never got to you and never got sent back and couldn’t you get a front axle bracket in good condition from that tractor graveyard
Greem Locktite will take up the sloppy fit, it's used for seals and bearings to take up the loosness
weld then drill to size
I have seen a large excavator get what they called line bored. They welded the holes smaller then bored them back out. Anybody like that around you?
it would need to be tapped fine thread too
Bill have a good machine shop to repair the threads please
Replace it while it's out
Weld the pin in there 🤷♂️
UPS doesn't race there anymore.
Bill would that tractor boneyard you got stuff at before, would he have one of those carriers?
possibly. it’s such a long drive to them. may be a last resort
@@billstmaxx yeah that's right I forgot about the long trip. But they may have ones that are wore out too
@@billstmaxx I was also thinking, could you possibly remake the parts you need? Would you be able to rethread after you made parts you need?
Wow!! Some of your viewers are really generous.
Get a thin wall bushing with inside threads tact weld it in place for the pivot.

Get a bigger hammer
Hit it with your purse
Nice video Bill maybe you can weld some beads along that slack area and rethread the opeoning fine threads
Brass nuts look like they are for the manifold. They need to be brass

wish we had one close

There is a seller on Ebay that made those plates for the bushing and the rear threaded one
Bill, is there any way you can chase those threads or have it retapped to get more bite?
it’s wore in to much
Remember with Covid everything stays right out you have to grab it when you find it or do without for a while.
You take it to Machine shop they can fix it or Breeze it up
My thinking to is the last owner had or did something to have bent the push rods out of round.
Try the Tracter grave yard for that one part
Did you forget to engage the govenor forks with the groove in the weights. I didn't see you do that.
this is the exploded view. the fork presses against the first plate. www.fixthatford.com/images/53%20Governor.jpg
Take it to a machine shop and get the pros to fix it or replace the part
Bill is there enough room on cradle to drill and tap for bolts to take up slack where threads are worn?
I got ya. there’s not a lot of room
machine shop and let them weld inside and cut the threads back out
If you can take the piece out see if you have a machine shop that can fix the threads. Or see if you can send it to Abom79 he can fix it!

hahahaha yeah have planes and helicopters hit the trees that would kinda sucks and pilots bad hair day lol
