Magnificent Century: Kosem is about Kosem Sultan married to the "State-i Aliyya", when her six-year-old son ascended to the throne, having the position of "Regent of the Sultanate", as well as the power gained by defeating all her enemies and becoming a sultan who brought the world to her knees with her regency. The power of Kosem Sultan became the greatest authority of the state through Murad IV, will be shaken by the iron fist of Sultan Murad, who wants to seize power. With his determination and might, Murad will give the Ottoman Empire its strongest period after Suleiman the Magnificent. The defeats of the state inside and outside will close the era.

Glued to watching it day and night is literally what I have been doing.. 😅 But I would've been much more cruel in my revenge, they died way to fast. Dilruba should've been humiliated and more before. Her mother died too quickly as well. I'm an empath and very compassionate and kind, so if I say such cruelty it is because they deserved it beyond words 😱

@@cmAwesome207 true....but Murad was also a good sultan irrespective of so many troubles he again started to regain the territories where were lost after Suleyman's reign.....we can't compare Suleyman and Murad....as Suleyman mother hafsa sultan was a cooperative noble lady and the sultanate was already in a good shape ...in murad's case his mother was a greedy woman who tried to control her son and the Sultanate was already collapsing as before him some non competent Sultan's were there like Sultan Selim who was a drunkard,Sultan Murad 3 was a failure,Sultan Mehmed was a coward person again a failure,sultan Ahmed was a weak Sultan and a womanizer,Sultan Mustafa mad sultan,Sultan Osman again a failure who was killed by his own PPL....then come Sultan murad who achieved victories,most of the rebellion were crushed under his rule....so that's why we can't compare as the situations were very different.

She would have been a fabulous ruler if it wasn't such a Patriarchal society..... Like Queen Elizabeth II... She had staying power.

Do you the previous six episodes were based on 6 years? They can’t cover 50 years of her power in 60 episodes.
Cuz those 10 years were probably chill for her, not enough drama to portray in the series. Things become tough for her and dramatic enough for the series again when murad starts to take back his rule

Murad never forgot Mehmet murder by Osman. After how the Jenissaris and the subjects killed him.That's why he is so cruel.He is like his father but mostly like his mother.
He is cruel to traitors and shows them no mercy.. his grand vizier aka brother in law was also a rat that had his face smashed in. He became a cat that killed the rats.
I really don’t understand murat how he forget osman killed his brother mehmet in front of his eyes and mehmet was innocent murat also knew this very well but he always talking about osman osman Osman 🙄😤just because osman was killed people and janissaries does not make him innocent they never showed that murat even mentioned Mehmet’s name or loved him as a real brother😞❤️🩹it definitely seems like he loves osman more just like kösem🫣the only person ı really feel sorry for in this series is mehmet because his mother and brother murat always put him in the background and made him feel unloved😭💔while murat constantly remembered only osman and devestated for what was done to him , but he forget that his own brother Mehmet was unjustly murdered and osman did not keep his promise and how much mehmed suffered and went to his death helplessly 😤😭✍️👀🥀
They didn’t bother to put some dramatical entrance of the new Kosem. I was kind of disappointed.
I love this series, but i cant help but see that its much darker than Hurrem's storyline. Ofc the lighting represents the times, and how cold Kosem's heart is turning. But the Harem was the light of the Palace other than the Sultan himself. it looks seriously depressing.
If only they portrayed hurrems searies like this… I’m loving the darker undertones

Why they didn't show us the 10 years that Kosem ruled the State?
They were too busy trying to find something interesting to continue with Murad. They came up with the horrible plot of Sinan Pasha and Gulbahar. It was way over done.
The Princess is so beautiful & so brave & yet quite vulnerable. Love her character concept & backstory. And what a spectacular introduction when she arrives in Istanbul & lays waste to the traitors with her katana. I think she is based around Murad's second haseki (likely Semsisah Sultan), a Christian Princess from Georgia & Murad's wedded wife. Some of the history that makes Princess Farya's backstory interesting is that her father (Prince Gabor Bethlen of Transylvania) a renowned Calvinist Protestant was a key figure on the protestant side early in the 30 Years War who at one point in the war besieged Vienna, Transylvania (Erdel) was a vassal state of the Ottoman Empire. Farya's mother (Princess Catherine Of Brandenburg) was the sister in law of the famous Swedish King Gustavus Adophus (the Lion of the North) who at the time of this episode (1632) is rampaging through the Holy Roman Empire inflicting serious defeats on Imperial & Catholic forces

They did a good job with finding someone similar in looks to Ahmed and Mustafa. The sisters look more like one another right now, too. I do not like these big year gaps but I guess they do not want to run the show for decades.

What i miss the most is the old palace, don't know why they change it, may be because of production issue. one thing never changed about Magnificent old was Sultan suleyman, they make him old with makeup and appearance., the role changing things never needed if make up can do so.
Every Sultan added his own additions to the palace and the surroundings. Later on in history, they didn't even stay at Topkapi.

It seems unlikely but it's not impossible. Japan didn’t cut off contact with the outside world till about 1638. This episode is set a few years before that - in about 1632.
I'm glad Murad spared his brothers (for now) and not having them locked up so they walk the palace freely. He's seen the horror of how his eldest brother Osman killed Mehmed and saw the consequences later on (osman being dragged on a horse cart on hay through the city)

I wrote this before, but if you read some history, you will find that each Sultan made changes and additions to the palace and the surroundings. Future sultans did not even live at Topkapi, some preferring the Dolmabace palace.

Very very bad translated and most of time words are mixed for example Sulltan Kosem is being translated as “ Yes father, please father, instead of are you feeling better translation reading are you happy ect ect.

I don't like Kosem fr. I admire her as a woman and her achievements however you can see how she gaslights and treats Murad like a child who doesn't know what he's doing and she wants to meddle in state affairs,she acted as regent but when the Sultan is of age,she has to step back and allow him to make decisions he deems necessary for the sake of the empire. The way she's trying to manipulate him and tell him that he's like his brother is just terrible...
