Thanks for the video, I have 2 Classic III's with bag setups from a Heritage II and Legend II, and I've been wanting to make this conversion for a while now so the vacuum can stay as original as possible.
One safe way to cut the hole in the tin is to sandwich the tin between a couple pieces of plywood and cut through one half of the plywood and the tin together. Holds the tin flat and secure. Great tutorial, thanks!
If I use older machines as a daily driver, (typically no older than a classic omega) I just get a few extra heritage ii emptor assemblies with the fill tubes and use them instead of the original emptor.

Did you add some sort of strap or hanger device inside the cloth bag to hold the fill tube in place? If so, what was your solution?
Yes i had them sew in a strap!
