    I think it’s kind of annoying how so many people think that allowing yourself your former binge foods means you will stop bingeing on them. I did this approach for a year and was still eating excessive amounts of chocolate. I agree that if you go without, over time you won’t crave it anymore because your brain adjusts to new habits

      It's the idea of "habituation." I never got sick of candy and ice cream. Never. If I got sick of one, I found another flavor.

      do you have any tips if its other ppl who buy household junk food thats apart of your binge eating? ive asked them before if they could hide/put it in there rooms or not get it but they refuse. so junk food for anyone is just easily available 😥

    Finally a recovery channel that I can relate to
    I relapsed on my bulimia during quarantine after being clean for almost 5 years. I'm in treatment again and decided to look for recovery content online. Unfortunately, the majority of the tips that have been spread are completely useless for me. And I also don't understand the intuitive eating hype. Not everyone has reliable hunger cues or can eat at any time

      That's one reason I don't like IE. You have to build intuition over time. Intuition is developed through experience. Sorry about your "relapse." I would encourage you not to see your "relapse" as "relapse" and just the reemergence of a certain behavior. Language does matter.

    I was deprived when I was 118 lbs as a male standing at 5'9". I wasn't deprived when I limited M&Ms in an attempt to get binge eating under control. That's why I can't get onboard with intuitive eating.

    so one way to help stop craving certain foods (ei junk foods, probably the worst for binge eating for me 😥) would be to recognize the behavior and measure how intense it was and why it happened?

    • @KevinBurciaga
      @KevinBurciaga  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Intensity is a good measurement. And asking "why" will lead to important answers.

    "Eat when you're hungry, not because it's lunch time..." Unless, of course, you have a real job and you're not a you tube blogger who can make your own schedule.

      Haha. Exactly. That's why I think most WIEIAD videos are totally unrealistic. Welcome to real life.

      Agree. Monday to Friday I only have three breaks at work at particular hours when I can eat. So how to do it intuitively?

    I have won't power, but I'm not using it right. I use my won't power to not eat enough because I'm anorexic. And I have the will power to exercise. How do I have the will power to exercise AND eat?

    • @KevinBurciaga
      @KevinBurciaga  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's tricky. Start small, start today, and figure out what you truly want in life. It's going to be a long road but do something today.

    I agree. Intuitive eating means for me I can eat chocolate bars and then I start easily binging, because I can't eat just one chocolate bar - it never ends up there. I have never understood this idea, frankly speaking.

    Hi Kevin, love your videos! I just watched a previous video of yours and you said “don’t have rules” rather have “standards” and eat whole foods and only when you are hungry. I’m a bit confused because I know you don’t like intuitive eating, isn’t that intuitive eating? Or are you saying eating whole foods when you are hungry not tons of chocolates when you are hungry?

    • @agnieszkalaouini7939

      But he has rules indeed. These are: eating healthy, balanced food, simple ingredients. Not eating the food that causes binges (sweets etc).

      You can do that. But ultimately you have to make different temptations. God doesn't take away temptation. He gives you an opportunity to say no.
