Imagine being able to do this and convert it into the new Unreal Engine 5 to make video game maps. Even a n00b like me can create beautiful levels.

@@AxeDragon1989 We're not that far yet. The AI seems to only create a limited palette of textures and colors. If anything, this will push the bar of acceptability for all creative projects way higher and soon it won't be enough for a game to look realistic, because it'll be too easy to do.

The hardest part would be converting them to 3d for UE. Well UE don't really need this AI generated picture

I think this has the possibility to change the artist 'meta'. So far artists had to develop an insane technical ability to express their ideas. This kind of software might bridge that gap between your imagination and technical ability. At least a little bit. Perhaps we will never have to study the leaf patterns of trees, or learn to draw tiled floors or draw straight lines of architecture in perspective, which is honestly all kinda annoying and painful. To me this feels very promising, at not really scary, at least so far.
And suddenly all we see is the same texture images

If you knew art you don't even need to be a treecyclopedia to be able to draw trees its just brush marks that can make up an entire tree
It could also be used to create a quick reference for a more stylized drawing
This is a helpful tool but is no replacement for techincal skill. Expressing your ideas and skill come hand in hand. So many times I ve gotten many ideas from practicing my skills alone. And we should know how to manage our resourses and expectations of what can come of them.
This reminded me of StarCraft Map Editor... I used it in 2000/2001 when I was still in school. So user-friendly and triggering imagination. Even a school boy can make an awesome map, place unit, tinkering with the stats, timed events.

I wish it wouldn’t stop at realism, but also allow the option for more cartoony art styles. Since there are many different cartoony art styles, it would be good to teach the program what type of style we’re looking for by feeding it examples similar to what we want. The AI would learn from those examples, and combine that knowledge with other information that it has gathered about art in order to create an outcome. Although the AI should learn from the different examples, it’s important that no copyright laws are broken in the final result.
It's not stopping, it's starting. For sure will be other art styles avaible on the future.

Still needs the crazy paintover at the end! Its a great starting point though, which is of course, the whole point of the thing :)
just started today to play with and ... it's amazing. I can't stop thinking it's like looking at the starting of new way accelerating ideas, it will be a great compagnon to explore new concepts with an immersive feedback. Hope we will feed it with many things in the futur and guiding it with more personal mood boards, and maybe some arch and creatures mixing it with 3D.

It might have negatives. But it can suddenly make everyone be able to be creative and get shit out. This is awesome. I can't draw at all. Don't want Paint. But this. This i am downloading since I already Have the card for it.

@@jonc8561 maybe not all. nontalented artists people cant create in physical mediums. LOL. they might get the jobs from AI-generating artwork but if you ask them to paint on real canvas. that would be the biggest LMAO. but AI generated can help a real artist to create more quicker and faster. there are good and bad sides to it you can notice it right away by looking at the piece and then the real talented people will fix it for them. :)
This is a game changer for people who aren't really artists but want to create a landscape they have a picture of in their head.

notwithstanding the fact that they literally got one of the best concept artists in the world to showcase it, lol 🤔
AI will make most things obsolete.. programming... developers.. artists.. administration.. security.. alot of it will diminish over time and hopefully new markets will open up. But designers and developers will be one of the last to go. Artist because creating appealing art isn't easy, even with AI, and developers cause.. htey need to drive the development further until AI can take over.. if humanity take that route.

@@nelyrions1838 yeah and it will be a global economic collapse. Governments will need to come up with solutions, such as taxing artificial intelligence and giving money to those who lose their jobs. Sounds dumb for now, but we will see.

Very interesting, many thanks for the information its good of you to share, I have a lenovo studio pc its 4k and I love it for doing artwork, its only a couple of years old but don't think it will do for the Canvas App, I can't even download any Nvidia drivers on it.

Next step is to apply this technique to moving pictures. And then you can create entires movies out of it. Everyone can then make his personnel block buster movie. The most desired skill in that era is then creativity and story telling.
And you can create and animate people as well, plus their voices, sounds... all this could be simulated. It'll look clunky for now, but give it 15-20 years, and it could be indistinguishable from the real thing. That might really alter what people see as entertainment.
You are spot on in your predictions within the future. There will come a time not to far away, where old or new films will be characterized by family members playing the leading roles in their own films. And sold online.

I am an artist myself, and the A.I art stigma has been weighing heavily on me. But a part of me feels like this is what that medium could be, a step in the right direction, as a tool FOR the artist.
Many people see ai as a shortcut to art when in reality it can be used as a tool to help artists get creative.
It would be cool if the AI could create more cartoon style illustrations. I’m more interested in cartoony illustrations than I am in super realistic ones.

Could this be implimented in a 3D adaptation? What I mean by this is a in-game landscape that is walkable and has models... If not is there a prototype of such program, or an idea of such?
Can you render in SBS video and image file? Stereoscopic 3D.
Can be possible to personalize the materials with maybe a personal self made material ? Or a self made like a Draw stile material ?... that can really help me with my work.
I doubt it. Each "material" represents probably thousands or millions of reference pictures, to get the software's NN to "understand" what the material is. One could probably develop a version of this where you could add your own categories, but it would require tons of annotated training data.
This is still in Beta. God knows what will be in Full version.

now i can finally create realistic visions of landscapes from my fantasy story i created as a kid, i can draw, but the amount of time it would take me to create the landscapes would be thousands of hours for what i have in mind, with this... this will shave off several thousand hours for all the vistas i have in mind >:)

@Anatol Calm down. This program uses the tensor cores in the RTX cards. It's got nothing to do with greediness. GTX is old technology by now.
@Anatol It literally does. And GAUgan is less refined, has less features, is buggy. AFAIK it's not even being developed anymore.
@Anatol Got some source for that being their reason? Because from what I've seen, that's not the case. But then again, I'm not a cynical pessimist.
AFAIK Canvas is using the tensor technology in the RTX cards and from what I've seen that makes a huge difference on performance.
Maybe next 3D map creation for game developers or animation, just predictions

Pro Camera Guy: I travel all over the world to capture the perfect imagery.
Me: I use my kindergarten skills to create the perfect imagery beyond this world will ever see.
To be honest the reverse process seems infinitely more useful. Feed the ai some boring photorealistic elements and have it translate it into a pictoric style.
That’s almost trivial and has been available for years
@@jeffwei The only thing that ever comes close to accurate stylisation today is DALL-E, which as far as I know released this very year. As someone who makes a living out of art I tell you, nowhere near having anything remotely usable in a production setting. We're not talking of a photoshop filter bruh, we're talking about simulating brushstrokes not only in an impressionistic manner, but stylized, with meaningful intent. There's a huge degree of symbolism involved.

Not much of a min, it just may take slower to show updates.
Like right now, on a PC like 1/2 sec for the image to update, a laptop without a GPU may take like 5secs maybe?
