The new overlay is surprising missing a few key statistics from the old one like GPU energy usage. Otherwise new control panel and RTX Vibrance/HDR are great additions.
I installed it (plus nVidia Studio), and yes, they did say it was in the beta phase. When I used the nVidia icon in the taskbar to switch from Intel UHD to nVidia RTX 4060, the screen froze. I was stuck on the Intel UHD screen. No mouse movements whatsoever. But Windows was working. My Rog Strix has advanced nvidia Mux Switch, whatever. So you can switch between iGPU and dGPU in Win11 itself. Not sure if MUX is buggy and caused the frozen Windows display? Fortunately, I had programmed my laptop power button to "shut down" if pressed inside Windows. And so I did. Rebooted, y went back to the old nVidia normal driver.
I have a very nice monitor, that is HDR capable, and I've found that turning on HDR really makes regular content muted and you lose a lot of vibrance. The added effect in games is good, but not substantial enough IMHO to lose so much the rest of the time when your content isn't in HDR. Unless I'm doing something wrong on my end, your system can't auto switch between regular and HDR mode, so I simply don't use it. Also, in HDR mode it was really stressing out my RTX3080 and was around 65c during intense gaming....without HDR on it stays around 45c. That's a HUGE difference on heat/stress on your GPU.
Of course watching sdr content in hdr is bad.. obviously. It's not like sdr content is supposed to be watched, well, in sdr. And even hdr games need to be calibrated to look good in hdr. If you can't do that then don't complain like that, use your brain, educate yourself on hdr, and do the work.. instead of blaming the technology itself. And yes, RTX HDR put more stress on GPU since, I believe, it's using CUDA cores of your gpu to do the work. Windows 11 auto HDR doesn't reduce ANY performance at all. So in newer games windows hdr is preferable. RTX HDR is more for older games or games that doesn't use a lot of ressource from your gpu. And if your hdr still looks bad after being calibrated in game, then your monitor is NOT nice at all. Especially if it's a LCD monitor, then SDR might look better all the time. HDR is really popping off on OLED panel. Also, you just need literally 1 right click and 2 left click on your mouse to activate or desactivate HDR on windows 11. You can also turn it on or off using Windows + alt +B, so complaining about being forced to switch between sdr and hdr doesn't make any sense, especially when 95% of the content you watch outside of games are supposed to be watched in SDR, so you just have to turn HDR on when you are gaming and turn it off when you are not, it's as simple as that.
@@biglittleboy9827 Blah blah blah....Yes, I know how to activate and deactivate HDR mode. I don't need to try and belittle your intelligence with a response, like you feel necessary to do, just because I don't agree with you. I didn’t even know this app existed. I’m so glad I stumbled upon your video. Thanks for sharing the info!
man voice is soothing very nice to listen i can hear for hours and fall asleep quickly
is it possible to have an overlay that shows a generic aim cross? so that I can turn it off ingame?
What’s the hit on performance in game??
The new overlay is surprising missing a few key statistics from the old one like GPU energy usage. Otherwise new control panel and RTX Vibrance/HDR are great additions.
i also dont think the gpu tuning features are there at all
But should I get it now or wait until it leaves beta?
How to get nvidia image scaling overlay indicator on this app? It is not even showing in Nvidia control panel either. I need it
Is the framerate capping more akin to riva tunner now? Or is it still less stable frametime wise?
I simply feel the system should auto detect which mode it should be in without the need for me to switch it. It really isn't that difficult, my TV does it ALL THE TIME. It's as simple as that.
something that is missing that i think is important, is having a small window like they used to back in 2010 where you can see that shadowplay is on, is recording, something was recorded, and all sorts of other things. i hate having the icons turned on cause it gets in the way, and in addition to that, i also hate having it turned off because i dont know if it's on or not without having to check. please bring back that tiny window
My games are fuzzy after installing this app. Specially, cod. When I uninstall i, game go back to original picture . Any help?
Is BETA version worth it or I should wait for the stable version?
It's not worth it. It was very buggy for me. Shadowplay caused so much lag and stuttering that I had to uninstall and downgrade back to Geforce Experience.
@@CaptainMcWolf Thanks 🙏
For us triple monitor users, does this new app finally give us a quick easy way to toggle between surround mode and extended desktop mode?
Just took them a good decade or two! Cant wait to get rid of the old control panel
thanks for spreading the beta i had problems with shadowplay in geforce i couldnt even start the overlay i can now skip the headache with the beta app thx again you where a help even though it wasnt the main point of the vid :]
Can’t use the new digital vibrancy on Fortnite? How do I know which games are supported
Finally a good video about these new features and how to use them! :)
People say this just works but with my experience it just doesnt. Unable to enable RTX HDR. I have done all the correct steps. I have an HDR monitor. i enabled it in windows and disable dauto hdr, but in the new nvidia app, it comes up error unable to apply new setting and cannot get it say turned on. Why is this please can someone help me thanks
SAME PROBLEM ! :(
What about GeForce Experience's Automatic Tuning feature? Is it just gone with NVidia App?
Anyone else having issues with the New App? I keep getting "There was a problem with the NVIDIA App" after it sits trying to load right when I open it. Otherwise it will open and when I click on any tab it just sits loading and will not load anything.
same problem i have no idea to fix it ima keep trying somehow .
Update ruined all my filters lol. Was perfectly fine was able to access Rtx HDR and dynamic vibrance. Now when I go to access my overlay there is no filter option.
Why is there no enable automatic tuning?
Looks faster..
But is it really needed for me that has a older rtx3060 12gb and only game on my pc in the 1080p setting
what would be better for me/gaming
info about stuff is always great.
Thanks 4 video(easy enough to understand)
Dude your 3060 12 gb is most popular card atm, it's not old.
It should get everything good at 1080p except for the high end path tracing
They did create a new app like the GeForce Experience, but they haven't revamped the Nvidia Control Panel's legacy UI yet (revamp = support for dark mode). :(
I won't touch this while it's in Beta, the stability of my system is important.
LOVE THIS NEW VIDEO FORMAT, SO GOOD!
Will this reduce the overhead on the driver?
Where is the old automatic tuning in the performance tab?
you can now set g-sync on a per-game basis. which is really nice if I want to keep it enabled global but disabled for specific competitive shooters like CS and Val.
how?
@@IllBeHidden set global settings to G-Sync and then on a game specifically you can set it to fixed refresh rate. this is how I did it for CS2. I usually just had G-Sync disabled completely and had to toggle it on if I wanted to play a more casual game with lower fps.
Why do people turn off GSync for high FPS competitive games like CS and Val? Asking cuz I don't play those games
@@alexmeyer8133 lower input latency
You can do this in regular Nvidia Control Panel actually.
Why you need a RTX card to make a simple Dynamic Saturation scrip, that can be made by any pc with Reshade?
if I apply different settings(overclock) my GPU, are they permanent? or do I need to launch the app every time system boots to apply?
I'm asking this because I plan on moving to linux soon, and I'd prefer not to need extra stuff installed(and not to lose settings)
Gpu usage seem to have increased without enabling any of the new nvidia vibrance thing.
Yes. I tried Last Epoch and GPU temp was over 80, normally it's not more then 65. Uninstalled for now...
did you check if instant-replay was on? this will definitely give a performance hit. Also, if you don't need to record anything or an fps counter, just disable the in game overlay altogether to be 100% sure it doesn't affect performance.
@@patrikmediaExactly. I always keep the overlay turned off unless I’m going to record. After recording footage, I immediately turn the overlay off again.
Could you make a video about the Pacific Drive settings please?
Just to know do you prefer to use DDU first ?
Does anyone know where the downloaded driver goes? It isn't the same path as the GeForce Experience.
what is the resource hog? will it need to open all the time?
Does it detrimentally effect game performance like the original N. Experience
It will definitely come with a ton of telemetry and bloatware, I'll stick with my og control panel after removing everything with DDU and installing just the driver with NVclean install
The app doesn't have the "Broadcast Live" feature. Why???
u can change the gpu fan speed too =?
The RTX HDR ‘only’ works if you have a single monitor
Thanks. Unplugged my 2nd monitor. Restarted my PC. and the RTX HDR option was there.
You can, if your bios supports it, have your secondary monitors connect directly to the onboard graphics of your PC. That way you can use RTX HDR and secondary monitors at the same time.
Bro what is your mic settings? What mic? Might just be your voice low key. But thanks I appreciate the video. So easy to understand and easy to follow along. Subbed.
voicemeeter should do the trick, just up the low freq and high freq slightly
I tried it but a tweaked nvcleaninstall is still superior because you can take it off legacy message signal interupts and reduce telemetry improving frame stability. Also noticed I couldnt force NIS with the stock varient of this driver, though yours does not seem to be exhibiting that behavior in the nvidia control panel like mine was.
i found that downloading new drivers from this is faster than on experience, at experience it always either stuck at 0% or 50%
Do you know how to use it to automatically tune your rtx gpu like the GE force experience has. To automatically over clock your gpu?
You need to go to (GeForce Experience), then click on (Open In-Game Overlay) at the top right, then click on (Performance), the last step is to press (Auto Tuning), and wait. It will take a while for it to find and apply suitable settings for your graphics card.
@@Bogdan_95 when I downloaded the beta for the new Nvidia app. It actually got rid of the GeForce experience app all together. So I don't have access to that app. I'm specifically asking about the new app that is in beta. If there is still a way to do performance auto tuning.
@@ging3rbreadtiger618 oh, I misunderstood, my mistake.
How to add camera in new nvidia ge force
In performance does it still have the auto overclock function?
My microphone is not working anymore with the nvidia panel even when the correct mic is selected (my mic is functionnal everywhere else)
Same here, I can't even change my mic, adjust the volume sliders, or even HEAR my mic in recordings.
@@moaijima same i reverted back to old version and i’ll wait for a fixed version
@@spacewalker0 which version did you go back to? or did u go back to Geforce Expereince
I uninstalled the NVapp and installed the latest GeforceExperience@@moaijima
What about safely overlocking your gpu through nvidia?
does it still have the overclocking tool geforce experience had?
thats what i'm trying to figure out. i liked being able to turn on my fans or put it back to auto. if anyone knows, please let me know.
wouldn't it make more sense to not port over the change resolution and refresh setting as you can just do that in windows settings
so the live streaming feature has dropped from this new app ?
I wonder how it would pair with Nvidia Profile Inspector, since it's a much more advanced control panel. Hope those options appear somewhere.
No, during this Beta period, many of the NVIDIA CP options are missing for the moment, so you sometimes will still have a need to dive into NVIDIA Control Panel or use Profile Inspector. Most likely when this app matures, much of those other options would be available.
I believe the HDR has to be enabled still within Windows first
I drop like 20 fps in games or 20% usage gets used up activating rex HDR. is that normal? windows auto HDR seems better performance wise.
Will this add latency to your gameplay?
Why don’t the recordings support a webcam anymore ?
Exactly wtf right I'm looking and trying to get this crappy app to work for the last day or two and seems to be no way. Did you find a way or a video cause I've had to go back to GFE.
Where are all the streaming options ????
well the statictics overlay suck cuz there's no fan speed customisation option like the geforce experience overlay
The app had one Issue: it installs But will not Launch. It sends an error every time!
Will this affect or improve a Nvidia Shield TV Pro? Thanks for the great info.
I think I heard rumors they're making a new one soon. If it has this RTX HDR and super resolution it's going to be killer.
What's the performance impact of this? I've never used geforce experience or any other similar bloatware.
how to get old one back ??? becuase this new version not supporting Nvdia broadcast Software for noise reduice...
New app is so much better only issue right now for me is it doesnt work to record Valorant clips when in fullscreen and fullscreen borderless have to be in Windowed so i went back to GeForce experience
how do you use the push mic? what key button?
