    My c65 gmt World timer has this movement and I haven't had any problems, it's accurate and the power reserve is as stated..a local watchmaker should be able to check it for a reasonable amount.
    If you like gmt watches check out the certina ds action gmt, this is powered by a modified powermatic movement and has a true/traveller gmt function, like the rolex and tudour, but is cheaper than this Bamford.
    I recently purchased the new seiko presage sharp edged gmt, it's a bit dearer, but a beauty of a watch ⌚

      Thanks for letting me know that your c65 GMT doesn't have these issues will definitely put mine on a timegrapher to test it. Keen to check out the Certina GMT thanks for the tip

    Correct me if I'm wrong ... but the arrow hand is set at the selected position and uses the main clock face hour markers. The rotating bezel is nothing to do with the gmt complication, it's for aligning with the minute hand to track up to 60 minutes of time.

      "The Swiss-made Bamford London GMT houses the self-winding Sellita SW330-2 movement with 25 jewels and a 42 hour power receiver. Inspired by travel, the function of the automatic 24-hour GMT hand with internal rotating bezel allows users to view a separate time zone." from the Bamford website

      A timing bezel is correct but is for dive watches, but has a 60 minute decision. This bezel has 24 hour markers and you can set a 3rd time zone. You are right about the GMT hand. A 2nd time zone is usually set bij pointing this Hans to the local time, or more likely for when you are at home, it is set to a world time of a country you want to know.

    I had similar power reserve issues with my Aquaracer and I have been told by a professional watchmaker that it is perfectly normal behaviour and in order to get an automatic watch fully wound one must wear it for more days while being fairly active (a lot of movement not just sitting, driving etc.) One should not try to fully wind an automatic watch manually using just the crown as it can damage the movement, manual winding is there only to start up the watch movement and than one should leave it to the rotor to do the rest of the winding.

      Yes, just start up the watch by winding, then wear the watch on your right hand for a few days while you engage in your 'usual activities'... It'll be wound up like a mofo in no time.

  • @InTenMinutes1
    @InTenMinutes1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If its an automatic, why do you need to wind it? I know automatics are also wind-able but they aren't manuals so they don't need to be wound. Why would you not just get ongoing power reserves while wearing it?

    • @BasicallyWatches
      @BasicallyWatches  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was testing the power reserve to see if it held power for as long as it claimed and it wasn't. Automatic watches lose a small amount of power and start losing time even if you wear them every day. So they will need to be wound eventually.

    • @haping1
      @haping1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BasicallyWatchesIf you wear the watch every day , the power reserve should be at the max or close to it constantly. That's the function of an automatic winding mechanism. Invented to keep accurate time...
      But, the PR of Sellita movements is on the lower end compared to ETA is my experience. SW200 and SW300 approx. 38 Hours... ETA, Seiko and Oriënt approx. 42 hours.

      @@haping1 you're right about the function about automatic movements the rotor movement helps wind up the main spring to keep time as close as possible however for the purpose of the reviews I like to test the power reserve and this particular watch wasn't achieving the claimed power reserve which is why I reached out to a couple of watch makers and one of them suggested winding it about 60 times which seemed to have done the trick and I was getting close to the claimed power reserve. I was told automatic watches cannot be overwound and I found with most automatic watches 30 to 40 winds does the trick however with this particular one for some reason it needed that bit of extra winding.

    Interesting, I have a Sellita SW210 (top) - a non-GMT movement - from another brand, and straight out of the box the power reserve was disappointing. My solution was to wind morning and night... and then to not wear it! 🥴
