This 7.2 onkyo amplifier is going to last you for a very long time I have that exact same model 686 bought it in 2018. And still going strong in 2022 never had to repair it ever since. Enjoy bud!
@@rrrobin2569 glad to hear you’re enjoying it I will never switch brands I will always stay with onkyo there avrs last very long just like Yamaha the only thing that does suck about onkyo is there HDMI motherboard
I am in the market for the Onkyo TX-NR686 receiver. Checked all over for one. None in stock. Nowhere. Called Onkyo. Asked them when it will be available. Onkyo replied " We have no ETA when it will be avaible". Guess I'll have to look for somethinf else.
The amplifier is discontinued I had mine since 2018 4 year old amplifier your gonna be lucky to even find one anywhere. Never had to repair my onkyo ever since I bought it when it first came out.
I have a onkyo NR 686 7.2 receiver but unable to configure 7.2 in speaker setup even after connecting 2 active subwoofer in separate ports given for sub. Still setup options shows only 7.1 and not 7.2. Could you please help.
@@rrrobin2569 Hey thanks for your reply, I did the same way but still speaker setup menu shows only 7.1 and not 7.2 even though we connect 2 subs. Why there is no option to select 7.2 configuration in speaker setup menu is my question and unable to find answer....
@@rrrobin2569 Thanks my friend. It looks like even though it has 2 ports, it's a parallel connection. Hence 7.1 with 2 parallel Sub is what I hope... But these guys for marketing simply put 7.2..
@@Baala1983 all I could see in the manual 8s that the subwoofer channels are connected together. I don't think there is a an actual setting for 7.2. All I see the 7.1. I believe the .2 is just so we can add an additional subwoofer. Hope this helps.
Awesome Mancave you got there! I upgraded my mancave last year and bought a 686. love it. Great sound. Enjoy.
We watches fooball and movies every weekend

@balachandarchandrasekaran I ended up using a RCA Y splitter. This will allow you to split the signal to run 2 subs

I am working on it. Wait for pt 2. Subwoofer install. 3 (Orion XTR15s) and a kicker comp 12 for bass.
