Happy to see eARC. Does it have Atmos virtualization? Nice review - I am tried of seeing technicians review a consumer product. Hearing from an end user is so much better. Do you miss 8k?
Hi, have you ever had any issues with the hdmi board acting up, I heard the older model okyno receivers may have had problems with the hdmi board, do you think maybe these older receivers run a little on the warm side far as the hdmi boards? Thanks......
Great video on explaining the features. I have top middle and top front ceiling speakers but the rz 50 won’t let me set that up if I choose to make the top middle and switch it to top rear would that make a difference or should I do front top even though they are ceiling speakers and keep top middle because those are my only options. Also I also use relative volume what is your volume level when you watch movies in atmos?
I don’t think it would make a big difference to middle to rear. I had my setup that way (in my main home theater room) a while and it sounded ok. I typically listen between -10db and -20db depending on the volume level of the soundtrack.
Is there any flexibility on choosing which channel I want to connect to an external amp? Cause why would I amp my back surround?? I want to amp my LCR and load the rest on the AVR like denons receivers do! So is there any useful info about this?
You can connect any channel you want to an external amp. Some receivers have a pre amp mode which shuts off the internal amplifiers but this model doesn’t have that feature.
Thanks you for the comprehensive review. Mine gets delivered today. My only question is can I power my fronts and surrounds with my Emotiva A3 (fronts) and A4 (4 surrounds). 7.1.4
Sure you can… I’m doing exactly that with my RZ-830. Just use the pre-amp out jacks to send the signal to your external amplifier(s). It works just fine, as long as you properly set things up in the various menus.
very helpful thank you !

I don’t miss 8k at all. It has the DTS X and Dolby Surround up mixers, which allows you to use all speakers in your system.
it appears to support virtualization

No issues other than the receiver’s sound not working.

I have 4 amps running on mine. But b4 I added the amps I always had mine running around -40 to -50db. Same with amps connected
Unfortunately the eARC implementation isn't great on this unit. I get audio pops sometimes with TrueHD + Atmos content.
I typically recommend routing everything through the receiver.
@@Upscaled_HT I'd like to but then I would lose 4k/120Hz and gsync so not an option unfortunately.
I have this amp and tried the 7.1.4 set up but have no sound coming from my ceiling front atmos? is there a secret sauce to get this to work?
Did you connect your pre outs to an external amp for the back surround speakers?

Hi thanks for the video. How does it sound with 2.1 channel music
It sounds really good.
@@Upscaled_HT how do u enable 4k enhance mode for the hdmi ?
All I have is a pair of speakers I'm not even sure if I have stereo sound, I am finding this receiver hard to understand at the moment.
Try hitting the music button on the remote to change the sound to stereo.
Any idea how to
Add sirrius XM on to the NET ?
So can you run just one rear surround?
You can run rear surrounds.
@Upscaled_Reviews yeah but can you run just one instead of a pair? Like say on Yamaha AVRs.
@@southbrit I’m not sure you can do that with this particular receiver.
* No Auro-3D or DTS Virtual:X
* Remote could be better
* Extremely hard to find available stock
It has DTS X. True on the remote and on the stock levels.
I have 2 and selling my game room rz 830
Horrible accustics 😎 dude ...
Design looks cheapass! They really don't get it do they? Looks sells....see Marantz!
The new Marantz receivers are definitely good looking devices. I have to agree with you.
