Oh jeez! I didn't realize I did that. Good Catch and thank you for pointing this out. On this model: The large flush button should line up over the white actuator on the flush tower in the tank (WHITE=LEFT) The small flush button should line up over the gray actuator on the flush tower in the tank (GRAY=RIGHT). Check the manual for your model. It will still work, but you'd obviously want to use the least amount of water possible for the given...."situation". :)
I have a similar toilet model #D24434A that was running since the day it was installed. Having it fixed was on the to-do list for 3 years until it got worse, running every 5 minutes or so but I didn't bother trying myself because the inside parts were different than what I was used to. When I plugged the model # into the internet for advice your video was the first one to pop up. I watched it and decided to have a look at my gasket even though I didn't have the replacement. The assembly came off pretty easy, as you described, lo and behold the replacement parts list was stuck underneath it and preventing a tight seal. Wish I'd been a bit more aggressively proactive on this but thanks for your help!
Pro Tip: on this model and many similar dual flush valves, instead of using a tool to release the retaining clips, simply rotate the flush assembly until it hits the stops or you feel resistance. Gently but firmly apply a little more force while rotating and the clips will "lift" over the stops and disengage the clips and you can easily lift it up, no tools needed.
Many thanks. Your tip worked very well for me as I think you would need exceptionally small hands to get in the cistern with a screwdriver as proposed.
Hi David, I have this exact American standard flush valve for my Toilet. Lately after a flush not enough water is filling up the toilet bowl. Is there any mechanism on the flush valve itself that I can adjust to increase the amount of water that goes into the toilet bowl?
What's the point of the model number on the toilet bowel if it's not referencing the right part numbers? Toilet bowl is labelled model 4000 but the parts are for 3053 and 3075
Savez-vous où trouver les pièces de remplacement ? Entre autre le flush seal de la bonne dimension pour ce modèle ? Car avec les # de pieces que vous mentionnez nous ne le trouvons pas
This toilet is terrible. I’m tempted to throw the damn thing away. This dual flush mechanism has failed within 18 months probably less. Seat is broken now too.
The video started with the grey button on the right but you replaced it with the grey button on the left? Which is correct?

Thsnk you
But how did you hurt your finger?
Long story. Someone didn’t mount a vehicle rescue tool right on a fire truck. Smoosh. All better now. :)
@@DavidStumph that's my line of work too. I bet you had words with someone.
Slightly Infuriating but American Standard can't source their own parts in the US. Takes 2 weeks to get here by slow boat.
