One thing to warn about, as I wrecked my 14 month old HP this way, is that dealing with those tiny and very fiddly screws, the slightest wobble can mean one rolls away from the hole and touches the motherboard. There is power running through it with the battery in place, and in my case, this resulted in a few tiny sparks. I hoped they were of no significance but when assembled the laptop wouldn't even power on. I took it to a repairer for an opinion (not a full.check, for which I'd have had to pay, I just wanted an idea of cost). I was told that it was very likely that the screw has shorted the motherboard and, as a result may have also damaged other components. As a having a new board fitted would likely cost at least half the price of a new laptop even if nothing else needed replacing, it was basically a write off. The old detachable batteries were far more convenient!
Thank you! I have never taken my computer apart for any reason and I was nervous to do it. Your explanation was thorough, easy to understand and to the point. It was perfect.
Perfect. Allowed me to perform a flawless battery replacement. It was a bit hard getting the case split but once I got it split in one corner the rest followed slowly.
Thanks for the excellent video, worked a treat. Can advise anyone to use a magnetic screwdriver, reduces the risk of a screw rolling onto your mother board and killing your laptop.
Great and thorough video! Thank you for sharing your expertise and experience! I was glad I watched your video, as I didn't know about the two screws underneath the skid pad legs. I would have broken the case for sure. Thank you!
You have mentioned when the battery should be recharged (around 15%). When do you recommend the laptop battery to be replaced before it runs out too much and needs to be plugged in most of the time?
I just tried this out and got my laptop on the charger. I'll come back to see if it worked Edit: It worked! No problems booting up, memory is all there, works like a charm!
sir, i too had the same problem ,but i bought my laptop one and half year ago. Its is very hard time for me to buy new battery ,do we have any alternative solution
Nooo I just changed mine and the laptop didn't power on (even after charging), and it's a compatible battery... But I checked again, opened the laptop and took the battery put again and the little screw touched the electronic plate just above the battery and something burned 😭 something really small but I saw the smoke. Does anyone know what could've happened?? Heeeelpp ☠️
End last year i have a new accu on my HP laptop. After the battery scan of the HP server assistent, the battery level is good again til now. But i think that my battery broken is. What can i do? This battery kost mutch monney! 😢
