So glad you talked about MWLL. You can use this to check playercount - stats.spikx.net/mwll.html (Download links at bottom) It doesn't look good, like Mandalore said, the community is SMALL. But I don't think a single day has gone by without a game going.
Not just a casual conversation, but a casual 'unscripted' conversation. He couldn't sound more suspect if he tried, he sounds like a murderer trying to get off on a technicality.

IMPORTANT PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Our playerbase already gets a healthy influx because of this vid, but a misunderstanding has arisen! DO NOT BUY ANY COPY OF CRYSIS WARS. OUR GAME DOESN'T REQUIRE IT. IT DOESN'T EVEN WORK WITH THE FULL VERSION OF CRYSIS WARS. OUR GAME USES THE CRYSIS WARS DEMO AS A BASE AND IS AS MANDALORE STATED COMPLETELY FREE!
Presumably the whole system used to circumvent gamespy's shutdown, using something along the lines of gameranger but not. You used to have to type a specific login/password before getting to the in-game server browser (Why I stopped playing - it was inconsistent for me), now it does it all automatically or is completely bypassed
@@Feroce To answer your questions- yes, there is a new version of MWLL that does NOT require any part of Crysis/ Crysis Wars to operate. It is now (as of December 2018) on version 0.10 and can be downloaded independently here: mechlivinglegends.net/ . Enjoy.
The only other place I've ever seen that kind of thing is private Arma 2/3 servers, where people make absurdly detailed custom missions and you like, elect or roll for commander, and sometimes they're even PVP missions, and mission briefings and strategy meetings take up the first 30 minutes of your 4 hour mission. That probably sounds boring and awful, but it was fun if you had a good mission. My favorite was one that was a team of 8 SEALS versus like 30 or 40 dudes, on a pitch black night mission. All the defenders had were flashlights and street lights and interior building lights, you couldn't see a fucking thing out in the woods in the perimeter without your highly limited aerial flares or your narrow weapon mounted flashlight. You did get two trucks with a floodlight on the back, though. So the goal was to defend a VIP from the SEAL assassins, and they could do shit like sabotage the power to cut the static lights, or just do it as a diversion. The SEALS got night vision and better weapons, though no sniper scopes (made it way too easy since the VIP had a unique model). Some of the most tense and amazing games ever on that map. Anyway, I'm so fucking tired of TDM lol.
I've been gaming for a very long time, and i love the communication in matches from other players.i don't get it from any other game... I feel like I'm actually part of a WHOLE and not just ONE man on a 12 man squad.
However many years later, and the community are still fantastic. Granted, the community is too small to be able to be rude, but... well, I like to imagine the love of big robots shooting the hell out of each other is enough to make everyone be friends just for a little while.
I played this game for a short time. Long enough to build a tiny mech with massive laser weapons on it. It would overheat and destroy itself after 2 shots but If I hit right I could kill almost anything with it. Never found a game where I could build an actual glass cannon nearly as accurately.
What you want is MechWarrior 5 with the YAML mod. Take a Charger, replace the small lasers with large ones and watch as your mech melts both the enemy and itself. Alternatively, you could just get a twin gauss mech to effectively create a headshot machine.
@@Lad-c51 you started very well. MW5 with YAML. you lost it at Charger. even though there might be that one usable chassis, Chargers are trash :D with YAML suite you can build very fast sprinting assaults, Annihilators not excluded :)
@@vine01 The standard charger is trash. With YAML you can make it amazing. I have a video, “Operation AHAB,” where I pilot my custom Charger CGR-1A1 “Blueshift” that is evidence enough of that claim.
It’s such a cool aesthetic because Ive always liked the genre of gundum but was lukewarm to the mech designs common to shows airing around the 90s and 00s. My Dad designed mechs based more off the scraps around junkyard near our home and it is very reminiscent of this style. Now we both enjoy battle techs style figurines and action figures 😊
Hey, just discovered the channel. Happy to see the MWLL being mentioned in the video. I worked on MWLL for over 2 years, quit before MWO was announced, so I missed all the drama. BUT them keeping silent is no surprise, and your deduction is spot on. The MWLL team was always split, there were great, extremely helpful people that were out there just for fun and the love of the community. And there were people that were power-hungry and constantly trying to reaffirm their egos. Eventually, I just couldn't stand it and quit, they soaked all the fun I had with the mod. Eventually I got into MWO, right after it got released. I co-founded one of the largest clans, but the overwhelming corporate greed became too much at some point. Not to mention the fact that they always prioritized features over bugfixes. I tried MWO once again about 2 years ago, just to check how it plays... MY GOD, the bugfest it was. Honestly: The game was more fun and had a better new-player experience in the early days than it did few years into the development. It's astounding that it's now 2022 and MWO still lives. I really hope that they fired all of the managers and let developers work on the bugfixes, cause if not... I can't imagine the state of the game right now.
Yo! Start of last year they actually kicked their asses into gear. There has largely been a massive amount of rebalancing, making more mechs shine on their own, and there are regular bug fixes. My only complaint really is the sniper meta. It takes all the fun out of the game when blue lasers and AC/2s just rule everything. Its definitely entering a much more healthy state than it has been in... possibly ever. I come across a few bugs annually and the experience is overall really good.
That would have gone bad if they left it in the game without adding melee weapons. 3/4 of the fights end up in brawls, it would have been sooooo spammy and lame if everyone just got knocked down every fight. Hitreg was a huge issue and MWO has one of the most demanded requirements of hitreg in any game ever made. Each mech is like 7 players built into one, in terms of hitreg calculations.
I like how this game went from "horrible mess that squeezes money out of people" to one of if not the best vehicle based games that don't tug on the wallet nearly as hard as the competition.
Holy shit I just realised those trailer shots at 1:11 were by Celestial, one of our Unit members back in the competitive days. Im in some of those shots!
Great in their premise, bad in their execution and support. They're relatively unique sub genre games that I think were pretty fun when initially played, but ultimately poorly supported and boring in the long run.
I remember when this game started you could melee mechs. Players complained about it because it was buggy as fuck. Devs said it was fine, untill the CEO got in a match with the big boys and they just locked him onto the ground unable to do anything. Next patch? Melee removed. Hoh and did you know that pretty much the entire team who developed was fired? Now no one understand the source code for major changes.... I love this game, and the franchise, and I like pgi for bringing a game like this to us... but honestly PGI should have asked to work with the MWLL team and make that game a star. Gl mech warriors, o7
Bit more context, melee wasn't a thing but knockdowns were and they were shit and it made light mechs very undesirable to play as lights were almost always knife fighters and eating dirt because you scraped someones toe was pretty lame. As for the layoffs, not sure about this, I know many devs moved over to MW5 and then moved over to LOTR online. Beyond that, not sure. MWO's development team is sorely lacking an engineer who understands the spaghetti ad-hoc Mwo cryengine code though (goid luck finding anyone there) not a big team at all but they add maps, buff/nerf passes and new mechs every now and then. For a 10 year old F2P there are worse positions I guess.
melee was never a thing, knockdowns were and they were so fucking awful they removed them within weeks of the original alpha's launch idk why the mwo community has such a pathological tendency to lie about things anyone with an internet access can look up
Cheers for the accurate history behind MWLL and what happened with PGI. Unfortunately there's one extra thing to add to that bit of history, but I can never say. I'm happy to have passed on the hat to the MWLL Community team and I have also moved onto my own project.
Since this video came out 4 years ago. MechWarrior Online has had a good bit of development, the grind has been reduced as well. New modes, skill system overhaul, new maps, actually new mechs and bug fixes galore. There's been a really good roster of events over the past years as well. The the rewards give generous amounts of premium currency, cutting down on the p2w aspect alot. Playing for free is viable and I think it's worth your time nowadays. Hope to see you on the battlefield! o7
Yeah, thanks for this comment, I think you just made me interested in it again. I played before and the f2p was the worst. Unfortunately. But here is hope, cheers!
Its only missing Duncan Fisher saying "Well, I guess they outlawed fun. IM duncan Fisher, see you on Solaris in the next game" followed by whatever passes for the NFL theme on Sol-VII
Solaris is intended for MWO early next year, and apparently they are trying to get George Ledoux to reprise his role as Duncan Fisher for that game mode
MWLL dev here. Wanted to mention that the still screens were of 3 out of 5 possible new assets coming with the next patch. Hope to see you in the field mechwarriors, aerospace pilots, battle armor users and tank commanders! Greetings CWG Andrew
Tried MWLL a couple of months ago, I couldn't find very many people playing on the servers. Are the servers a bit more populated now that this video has released? It would also be helpful if you could tell me the time of day that most people play the game to help getting into a populated server. Thanks!
Yes the influx has been felt. Right now as I am speaking there are matches played on two servers. Since Mandalore released this there have been nonstop games going so come join us now! If you need any help join the discord and we settle you in. But in general there will pretty much always be games from european prime time to american late night. During the summer there wasn't much going on so you probably tried it back then. Greetings CWG Andrew
jpc1918 - the TH-cam editor is much less elegant than other editors out there. But on the plus side it allows you to edit videos post-upload to avoid copyright claims.
Fun fact! The Chuck E. Cheese on Pineville-Matthews Road had a MechWarrior arcade machine where you sit in a little yellow bubble cockpit thing that moves around while you play. I dunno if it's still there. If you can borrow a child so you don't look weird going there, I invite you to check for me, Mandy, since I'm not in the area anymore.
Thank you so much for including MWLL in your vid Mandy!! For any newcomers to MWLL: Please join both the discord server, and the in-game Huntress Training Server. You can test out any asset as many times as you like in the training server (infinite cash), and ask in discord for someone to join you and show you the ropes. Again, thank you so much!
Got this re-recommended today and watching it again, I'm glad how much MWO changed for the better in especially the last year. Redone skill trees to be better, removed lackluster game modes, really really generous events every month with more on top that overlap often enough (free mechs , premium time and enough MC to buy whatever you want in the span of an event or two), new chassis, maps, weapons. Good stuff.
@@hagamablabla Summer lootbag event is due to start as well for some neat freebies like the monthly mech giveaway (this time 2). As good as its gonna get to come back to ^^
The grind is the exact reason I stopped playing MWO. I loved everything about the game while playing but it was absolutely clear very early on that it was a loot box fueled grind fest that as someone that wants everything so I can build custom mechs for the fun of it would take FAR to long. If it was something like spend 100 bucks and you basically will have everything you'll need then I would most likely cave but EACH mech is like 20 bucks which is absolutely INSANE.
Dont know if you are still interested or not, but with the ammount of events they make and loot crates you get after x matches, its way easier to buy all the stuff you want without spending a dime.
8:54 Atlas is taking it up the ass, don't you worry about that! Right up the pooper! (the laughing makes it hard to understand the Aussie) 8:59 Alright, that's it from me, BigDick1 over and out!
The only bit I had trouble understanding was when he said "BigDick1." Thought he might have said "Big Dick Wallaby" but I'm pretty sure that was just wishful thinking on my part.
MandaloreGaming Dude, your reviews are my favorite by far. It's partly because you cover loads of interesting games to a suitable depth and with sufficient insight, but mostly it's because you don't talk to me like I'm a fucking moron; you don't shout at me, you don't act like everything is astonishing, and you don't coo at me like a patronizing mother. You talk to me like I'm a real person and you're a real person, and it's fucking depressing that it's a a breath of fresh air to be treated that way. Never ever change that.
Those skill trees remind me of Path of Exile. "Oh, look! We have a 1000 skills!" .. Yeah, and 42 of them are +2% casting speed, 80 +1% attack damage etc.
This was an amazing review, thank you sir, thank you so much! I've been doing MWO builds to show people that they don't have to go with the "Meta" either, so that is something important for people to understand too. I think I will check out MW LL, I thought it was perma-dead as well.
I confused this for Steel Battalion and waited to hear what you thought about it's controller. I have never played this game but it certainly seems a lot of fun when you aren't fighting it's bugs or paid progression system. I love mech games, there aren't enough of them and having one that gives you overheat safety and an ability to bypass that system is really awesome to see. I will definitely look into Living Legends since that sounds excellent! Thanks Mandalore!
What an accurate summation on MWO. I have shared and on and off again love/hate relationship with this game and you really hit the nail on the head. +1 to you sir you have earned my sub!
wow that was actually pretty great and accurate. I played MWO in an unit for a year and have experienced like everything you mentioned. I was a fan of MechWarrior and that was the only reason I was sticking around. But then the unit started to have issues too (mostly due to top tier players and some leading officers leaving because of boredom in the game's repetitiveness and unsophisticated game modes) and I finally uninstalled and never came back.
This was a great video and likely the most honest review I have ever seen. If you are ever wanting to check out a Mech game without that F2P grind, let me know and I can make sure you get a copy of MAV.
tyvm for this! 9:10 folks is where it gets GOOD! I downloaded MWLL and am loving it! TY so much for taking the time to make this video and posting it! Very well done!
I really like that it appears your channel has now "found a direction" and is running strong with it, I just recently found your channel but looking through your post history it really show; so kudos for that. You are uploading really good products with well thought out points and criticisms and I really appreciate that more than anything else, that and your occasional dry humor. It's refreshing. You have my sub.
I've loved BattleTech since I was 6 years old, so this game was a dream came true when I first heard about it. Slowly, over time, the cracks began to show. The biggest, most glaring problem at this point is a combination of power creep and loadout meta. With the introduction of Clanners (which I dreaded from the beginning, and for good reason), Inner Sphere tech became more or less obsolete. They tried to balance it in a way, but it just didn't work, and doesn't even fit the canon of the series. Loadout meta was a problem from day 1, and I honestly wish they would have either made 'mech customization either absurdly expensive or gotten rid of it altogether. The impact of seeing certain 'mech chassis crest a hill is completely diminished because they can essentially have anything on them, so you don't really know what you're up against. Additionally, min-maxers - while common in games like this - would quickly figure out the absolute best set-up with each new patch, and ridiculous loadouts would become commonplace. A Stalker with three LRM 20s was a staple in the game, and became such an overpowered joke that the devs nerfed LRMs to discourage that kind of play. Then later they buffed LRMs because nobody used them. Then nerfed them again once the missile boats came back. Then nerfed them again. Then you have Daishi pilots that strap on 3 Ultra Autocannon 20s and you just have to wonder why the fuck you're playing anymore. Years of baffling decisions by developers and shitty money-grabs turned me off forever. I wish someone else got ahold of this IP and did something good with it for a change.
And now it has Piranhas and Vipers skidding about the map at 130+ kph, loaded to the gills with Clan Heavy MGs and micro-lasers that can burst down assaults from full armor in 5 seconds or less if nobody swats them away quickly enough. The game’s lost any semblance of decent balance or impact.
absolutely, but if the Loucst makes 1 mistake it is dead. the Locust is rather overgunned for its size but has so little armor that if a heavy or assualt Mech lands a good hit you are dead or crippled (and crippled in any light means most likely dead in a few seconds). I much prefer the Spider, less guns but can jump is about as hard to hit and can suvive a bit of damage the major weekness of the heavier assualt Mechs is low speed, Lights have a good chance of getting out of a bad situation, Mediums and Heavies have a reasionable chance, a 100 ton Mech has almost no chance of getting out of a bad situation (e.g. walking around a corner to be faced with 6+ enemies) before the large group of enemies reduce it to scrap. even the biggest Mechs sometimes go from fresh to scrap inside 5 seconds
@@terryforsdyke306 Kinda irrelevant to the fact that Mandalore is misrepresenting the game and hinting that it's P2W by suggesting that an Assault mech is inherently superior to a Light mech when in many match-ups the Assault is going to be dead on the ground while the light took little to no damage.
@@RaithSienar The only reason a light mech survives 1v1 against a competently configured heavy/assault is if their aim is bad, or its already been mostly stripped. Its not as bad as MW4 was with hitscan fulldamage lasers, but it still holds true. Hero mechs by definition makes the game P2W. However minuscule you might think that is, Some hero makes are the definitive variant of said mech. Likewise, enjoy the XP and progression systems without buying additional bays or converting XP.
Erm. It is pay to win. =/ Sure you can EVENTUALLY get what you want for free.... key word is EVENTUALLY. As in... gotta spend a LOOOOOT of time grinding for that mech you want that might cost over 4,000,000 ingame currency. Then the parts and weapons (Of course everytime you switch... it drains you of cash. You cannot buy and store weapons.) and finally the skills. At the end you play with people that get quite a headstart compared to you. A big one. So you are left with 2 choices. Grind forever or pay. While technically it isn't pay-to-win. It might as well be called as such given what the game asks from free players.Besides... if we want to speak about better = more expensive. Just look at the different variants.
If you want to get some better sounds out of the game I found Za Ku’s weapon sound pack helps immensely. Sound mods are a great way to freshen the game.
Your review style almost kind of reminds me of Ross Scott in some ways. You always keep a cool head, tend to look at games with an equal amount of objectivity and personal opinion, some very witty jokes. I love it.
I am sure I saw Angry Joe review this. Then I saw you review this. And both times I decided against getting into it. But I started to watch a guy play it a lot on TH-cam. So I decided to try it out and honestly a lot of the negative stuff sems to have been removed. I have been really enjoying it. I would recommend people give it a try. They have given a lot of stuff away free and they have had a sale already too. Plus they have starter bonuses which give you enough money to buy an equip a few mechs.
I will say I love Battletech since I happened to play my first Tabletop game in Tabletop Sim, it was really fun, and I even got to win my first match, it was a 2v2, it ended as a 2v1 with my friend getting killed, I was basically Sniping in the back with Railguns, I had to balance my heat to make sure I didn't get to many debuffs, and then ran into the only enemy which could still shoot, and basically point blank railgunned him and killed him with Crits, it was also a Suicide move, basically I either won in that one move or I died.
I've had your videos in my recommendations for like a month now but never watched them because to be honest your thumbnails looked clickbaity. Well after watching your F.E.A.R. review 2 days ago and realising my mistake now I'm done watching every single one of your reviews, you make some great quality content man can't wait for more. PLEASE add the Gothic series to your list man. It's not that wildly known outside of Germany, the Czech Republic and maybe a bit in the US but it's such a great RPG with it's own charm. (It is made by piranha bytes outside of Germany probably better known for their series Risen or maybe their soon to be released game Elex) If you are intested I'm happy to help with the research especially with stuff written in German. Anyway thanks for the fun content man cheers.
I actually try to make thumbnails *not* clickbaity and as minimal as possible. So could you tell me what you think makes them that way so I could tweak them a bit?
Well it's not your fault, it's more my prior experiences with people using similar thumbnails to hide their lame content behind it. I don't think the majority of people regard your thumbnails as clickbaity my friend just told me he doesn't, it's just me don't worry about it.
You just got a new subscriber. Not necessarily for this video but loved all your reviews. I glanced over the "list" you're working on and practically every single game on it is amazing. Can't wait for these reviews. You do an excellent job! (I'm especially looking forward to factorio and EDF 4.1)
Never seen those technical issues before. I've never even heard of them before. The standalone launcher is screwed up though, the steam version is better. Also, the "golden 'mech skins" weren't just skins, and they were also part of a time when PGI had a publisher - infinite games publishing. They pushed them to do that, not PGI's choice. Also, living legends didn't spawn MWO. And living legends is still in active development.
All true, I just wish MWO could make that last push and go from dissapointing to amazing. Hopefully we will get new maps after MW5 is done and PGI gets their map designers back.
I play MWO and I don't experience so many bugs. I don't use the Steam client but the download client from MWO's website though. Also European and North American servers have a lot more players and you will find Faction Play matches. Depends on the time of the day ofc.
This game was the coolest thing since Earthsiege, close to a simulator with its extensive HUD and movement inertia, it was so great at first. The sound from the autocannon alone was so visceral that it drew attention from visiting friends on a few occasions. Then, like Starsiege, there was the predictable problem with missile spam. Then, it got worse with nearly every player using a hack where lasers did full damage at max range with a max range that was increased by about 40%. When the hacking is pervasive and the development team does nothing to stop it, I stop playing before I have an aneurysm. That's killed quite a few games for me, like Counterstrike and most RTS games.
A fairly important thing to note is that shutdown override is not _exactly_ "a chance of instant death". Overheat is just some set value of damage being dealt to a random bodypart's structure at regular intervals, which will take at least 2 unlucky ticks to take you out, so the death will definitely not be instant and it's a massive gamble of a viable option of a last resort if you absolutely have to.
Always so nice to see The Remnant cinematic videos being used. Celestial is a great guy and we always had such great fun making them! Maybe when Star Citizen is in full swing, or when Mechwarrior 5 comes out, we'll make more together?
Imagine if they redid monetization like Waframe. Would fit too. Research weapons for your "frames" with resources you grind. Multiple frames, weapons etc. Probably could've lasted much longer, along with some TLC of course.
I find it interesting that MWO just rebranded to "Legends" from "Solaris 7". Maybe a pre-emptive copywrite, as it seems like a Living Legends 2 project is currently in development.
Is Living Legends 2 in development? They have not provided an update in a year. I thought that game had a chance when it was a PvP multiplayer mod for MechWarrior 5, but that is no longer the case.
Bullshit they made it just as grindy by forcing you to use shitty rental mechs at the cost of 60-80% of that games earnings it takes you ages to get your first mech
@@cleverkitsune4302 iirc you dont earn any less for using a trial mech, also you get a huge bonus for your first 25 matches, should easily be able to buy 2-3 mechs with a sale discount.
@@cleverkitsune4302 you normaly get enough money to buy and kit out 1-2 mechs through your first 25 matches with the cadets bonus, depending on youe weight class and what you use to kit them out (even 3 are possible)
I agree with a lot of your assessment though you had some technical issues I have never had. I was on Living Legends some months back and it was deader the disco at the time so it is interesting to hear it might be resurrecting itself.
This video doesn't get into the nitty-gritty of all good points and bad points (I have a laundry list for ya if you want, because- fair enough- you clearly didn't spend too much time with it). But I _do_ think your analysis and conclusions are fair. A player _wants_ to really enjoy it, but there's bugs and frustrations and corporate milking aplenty to go around that give _MWO_ an overall bittersweet flavor for us dedicated _Battletech_ fans. And in a world where fast-paced/twitch/impulse gaming is monopolizing the first-person shooter market, for me _MechWarrior Online_ is a definite breath of fresh air because you actually have time to _think and plan and strategize!_
Thanks for doing an honest review of MWO, I enjoyed it. I'm also really happy to hear Mechwarrior: Living Legends mentioned. Could you give that a review at some point? It deserves more time in the spotlight.

Does the game have independent damage models for the mech parts ?
The community for this game seemed genuinely fucking awesome. It's really, really rare to see people communicating and coordinating to that degree.
Pretty common that you have people that will explain WHY the decisions are being made like that, if you ask.

There is a non-battletech anime ova series from 1983 that has a faction built around this. They are a bunch of former miners turned revolutionaries.
Hey,
just discovered the channel.
I come across a few bugs annually and the experience is overall really good.
it's an extremely okay videogame

I love your videos

That would have gone bad if they left it in the game without adding melee weapons. 3/4 of the fights end up in brawls, it would have been sooooo spammy and lame if everyone just got knocked down every fight. Hitreg was a huge issue and MWO has one of the most demanded requirements of hitreg in any game ever made. Each mech is like 7 players built into one, in terms of hitreg calculations.
I like how this game went from "horrible mess that squeezes money out of people" to one of if not the best vehicle based games that don't tug on the wallet nearly as hard as the competition.

Hope to see you on the battlefield! o7

Good stuff.
Good to hear, I came back to this video to see if things have changed. I guess I'll give it a try again.

Well, I'm going to see what mechwarrior living legends is like. Thanks for informing me on this!
its fun

Those skill trees remind me of Path of Exile. "Oh, look! We have a 1000 skills!" .. Yeah, and 42 of them are +2% casting speed, 80 +1% attack damage etc.

wow that was actually pretty great and accurate. I played MWO in an unit for a year and have experienced like everything you mentioned.

14:20 you missed the fact that each weight class has strengths and weaknesses, and a 100t mech can be easily taken down by a 20t locust
absolutely, but if the Loucst makes 1 mistake it is dead.
the Locust is rather overgunned for its size but has so little armor that if a heavy or assualt Mech lands a good hit you are dead or crippled (and crippled in any light means most likely dead in a few seconds).
I much prefer the Spider, less guns but can jump is about as hard to hit and can suvive a bit of damage
the major weekness of the heavier assualt Mechs is low speed, Lights have a good chance of getting out of a bad situation, Mediums and Heavies have a reasionable chance, a 100 ton Mech has almost no chance of getting out of a bad situation (e.g. walking around a corner to be faced with 6+ enemies) before the large group of enemies reduce it to scrap.
even the biggest Mechs sometimes go from fresh to scrap inside 5 seconds
@@terryforsdyke306 Kinda irrelevant to the fact that Mandalore is misrepresenting the game and hinting that it's P2W by suggesting that an Assault mech is inherently superior to a Light mech when in many match-ups the Assault is going to be dead on the ground while the light took little to no damage.
I hate/respect light 'Mech pilots so much. Bastards. 😂

PLEASE add the Gothic series to your list man. It's not that wildly known outside of Germany, the Czech Republic and maybe a bit in the US but it's such a great RPG with it's own charm.

As a MWO Legendary Founder I have this to say: Yes. Best MWO review yet, Thank you!
I hear Ace combat music, Your choice of background music is exquisite.

Once you get 10-15 mechs the monotony of saving is completely relieved and it begins to feel as if you have too many mechs to play with
I find it interesting that MWO just rebranded to "Legends" from "Solaris 7".
I find that using Steam client make the game much less buggy. Also, MWO grind is far less than some MP only games such as WoT.
That doesnt make it good, just not as bad as others.
Ill stick to MW4 Merc
Just you mentioning the WoT progression system is going to keep me from sleep.
Damn son. Super glad you mentioned Living Legends. Will have to start spreading the word to all my mech-lovin' brothers :D

That boomer getting really into it is emblematic of the entirety of Battletech.
I know, it put a big smile on my face, he's getting so into it even if he sounds unenthusiased
Thanks for doing an honest review of MWO, I enjoyed it. I'm also really happy to hear Mechwarrior: Living Legends mentioned. Could you give that a review at some point? It deserves more time in the spotlight.
