Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on TH-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on TH-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on TH-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

Most people don't remember Lionel as the saxophone player. In 1968, he became a singer and saxophonist with the Commodores.
Oh yes, great song with many others he sang…Lionel Richie! “ Easy “ is a great song. “ Hello “ is fantastic too. I loved his songs with the Commodores the best, He was great on his own too. Sail On “ was great!👏👍👍👍♥️

I sure am glad I was born in 1957. I got to experience the growth of all genres of music. 50's, 60's with the Beatles, Motown, all the best music ever recorded!!
The last time I heard this tune I was young, thin and had a full head of hair, now all of that has changed but this song is still special. Thanks Shawn for a walk down memory Lane.
"Zoom" is a masterpiece, and Lionel Richie's "Love Will Find a Way" is one that's often forgotten about.

I generally used to find Lionel Ritchie a bit too sappy for my taste, but I've loved this song since it first came out. This is one of the greatest "fuck you, it's over" songs ever written.
I forgot how good this song was
At the time this great song was released, Country music was surging in popularity and many Pop stars were releasing songs with a Country flavor to them, including The Commodores. This song and others by them were very popular, but Lionel had no idea how popular his songs were in the Country music world until many years later. That's when he decided to collaborate with a number of Country artists for an album. I'm not a big Country fan, but his songs helped me connect to other Country songs that are classics and that I love. Lionel is a national treasure.
You picked a good one for your first Commodores song.
Speaking of songs with a Sailing theme. Cool Change by Little River Band, Sailing by Christopher Cross, Come Sail Away by Styx, Sail on Sailor and Sloop John B by the Beach Boys, Sailing by Rod Stewart or the Sutherland Bros., Southern Cross by CS&N.
Take your pick. They're all good.

This song is such a VIBE. Love it. I had an album of their greatest hits when I was younger, there are so many good ones.
“Easy” is a great next song by Lionel Richie and the Commodores… he also does same song with Willie Nelson’s and I am hard pressed to tell you which one is better. I love the way you feel the music and appreciate it…. For me this music is at least 40 years old but your reactions make it feel fresh!!

I was a teenager on a summer evening listening to this now 66✌
lionel and co. at the top of their game. the commodores were HUGE for a good part of the 70's. this greatest hits vinyl is still in my collection. - bought in '78 upon it's release. they were an epic group. what happened to this style of music since then ? well after this came WHITNEY HOUSTON and THE POINTER SISTERS and they were an amazing group with a dozen top ten hits. and after that it went sliding down the slippery slope with rap and hip hop - need i say more ? draw your own conclusion. if you want more of this you need to hear 'easy' and 'brick house ' .2 killer tunes.
The Commodores are great and have a lot of good songs, but Lionel Riches solo career is fantastic.

"Three Times a Lady" - The Commodores - absolutely should be your next tune by them...
Lionel Ritchie wrote a song called, Lady, and the Commodores rejected. He ended up giving it to a man you may have heard of, Kenny Rogers. It became a massive hit for Kenny. There is a video of the two of them singing the song together in later years that's absolutely amazing. I think you should watch Kenny singing it live first to see how he did it. That way you can get a reference to how Lionel was trying to impersonate Kenny's singing. It's a great time for sure.
