Better idea: use whatever plat/stand that's like this sketch. If it's a wooden or metal stand, replace botany with craftsmanship/engineering. Improvising on the spot while keeping the mood is better then dragging a specific prop with you that no one else will get if they haven't seen this side comic.
I did so on a High School Fun day as one of the last days of High School. Instead I brought a Picture of a Ficus. It was fun.

If I remember correctly, wasn't there a comic dub where Mordecai was given looks by a girl and Viktor had to explain to him how to give "the look" back whilst not looking like a serial killer greeting his next victim? As a hitman, he's flawless. As a socially adept citizen, he's hopeless. So, most probably, actually WORSE than the ficus plant he was hoping to be...
Mordecai reminds me of a friend. So incredibly much.
As in, he was asked by a girl to move her closet in the middle of the night. Comes and knocks finding a girl in something "more comfortable". (Again this is like 30before midnight or something)
And the man ends up actually trying to move her closet before just straight up leaving. The girl even aaked if he wanted to stay over, but he figured that there was no need as he lived in the same town.
It was years before he figured out that she was trying to get with him but he never realised.
Anyway, that's why I love the man. He's a great person and friend. And I relish every time I get to explain that something has sexual connotations.

I decided to start learning about classic fashion because of lackadaisy and from what I know mordecai is not properly dressed for the occasion, I would think he'd wear white of black tie attire so it shows sartorially that he doesn't fit in which I think is an excellent touch. You can read a lot off of how people dress and Ms. Butler has done an amazing job.
He also appears to have both suit buttons done up, which is usually done for funerals.

Mordecai generally likes to keep a professional appearance around people so he doesn't engage in any kind of flirtatious behavior with anyone(Although in one of the mini comics a girl was giving him the eye and Mordecai was flummoxed and asked Viktor how he should reciprocate and ended up giving a crazed smile instead). While he doesn't seem sexually attracted to anyone, there's no reason to suggest he wouldn't want some kind of companionship at some point in the story. But for a true answer to this, let's just wait and see.

I think Mordecai is more of a Waltz dancer, precision and timing are more his thing.
I came up with a theory that the two lady cats started a relationship after that dance so Mordecai inadvertedly made them fall for each other after they spent time bonding initially talking about how strange he was.

Of course, all that ended for Germans in 1933 when Hitler became chancellor, which is ironic as some of his early supporters including the leadership of the SA (the early militant arm of the Nazi party before the SS) were openly gay. So, while it’s certainly possible, they probably would have had to keep it on the down low
