I'm going to be honest, I wouldn't call this episode flawless, there are a few cameos that are questionable, and the part where he talks about the history of Nintendo could be trimmed a bit, however there's a lot this episode does right. The meta-commentary, the fact that he somehow made a plot about a goddamn blue boarder very engaging, the songs, the jokes, the special effects, and most importantly of all, the tone. I don't think a Scott the Woz video felt as down to Earth and mature as this one. Yes of course there's comedy and the premise is very goofy, but this episode paints Scott in a more vulnerable position, where he realizes he's being tormented by the blue boarder, he wants it to go away, but than it effects the state of Ohio, so Scott must go on a quest to space to stop it, and than he realizes the boarder needs to be with someone, so Scott has to be the one to remain tortured by it, to prevent the blue boarder from effecting others. Sorry for coming across as pretentious, but I just got to talk about the tone. It's the website, cameo. You pay a celebrity to say what you want (within reason). A lot of retired athletes are on there. Terrell Owens is on the cameo commercial. The guy who plays Kevin from the Office was the highest grossing cameo person.
Why do I feel like this was something that Scott planned from day 1 when starting his channel? This is just to perfect to be a spontaneous idea for a special.
I think it's a bit in between. At first, the border was more for (stylistic) purpose than a plot point much later, but he probably thought about doing a video like this for potentially years. He knew he would make the 200th episode special and probably include some sort of Madden 09 vs. Madden 08 or something, feature his friends and many colleagues for longer, but as he made more and more episodes he had more to incorporate in this one (The other specials, like the Dark Age of Nintendo series especially). The result is pretty much a perfect amalgamation of all ScottTheWoz, I would say.
@@dmovie95 I think so, it's definitely the most obvious choice. I can't think of another game or concept which is featured in pretty much all of Scott's videos unless I miss something.
can I just say how amazing the intro song for this movie is? The way it smoothly transitions between each genre, fits with the video playing AND takes you through the history of gaming at the same time? That’s a new attention to detail
It's really awesome watching Scott's friends get more and more comfortable on camera. I mean Scott himself has gotten way more comfortable on camera too, but I don't think his friends here get enough credit for becoming way more natural on screen.
Comparing them in A Madden 08 Christmas to this is insane, especially with Joe Robertson (Terry Lestler) He's always been pretty good but he improves greatly with each appearance
IM GENUINLY SO HYPER SO MANY GUESTS AND JUST SO MANY ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS??? DANIEL AND JACK WERE IN IT TOO Pardon me, but man honestly just spectacular happy 200th
No one is gonna mention that he got Brett Favre and Vince Young to do Cameos for this? It must have cost him a lot of money to get them to do this, all for the 200th episode. Mad respect.
Nah he spent all the money on the walls of video game boxes, honestly though I think Scott must have gotten some connections I doubt they were paid for this but either way it was amazinf
@@HomeScar498 Scott's videos have an amazing production value behind them and are really funny. But I still think that he has a long way before surpassing AVGN's sheer amount of classics. Atari Sports, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Tiger Electronic Games (my personal favorite), NES Accessories, ROB, Super Mario Bros 3, Milon's Secret Castle, Crazy Castle, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Link's Adventure and the list goes on and on. That's an impressive catalog of videos, if you ask me.
Scott is so dedicated. You can tell. He puts time, effort, and attention to detail into his videos for even the smallest of bits. He also celebrates every 50 episodes. Thank you Scott.
This was a cinematic masterpiece. The jokes, the cameos from other TH-camrs, the self-references, the SONGS- every moment was perfection. And as an Ohioan, I thank you for your sacrifice. Bravo!

Pretty sure that’s higher than the overall score of Breaking Bad.
I thought you were joking, but then I looked it up
There is a god
the way scott manages to crack jokes about veganism and celibacy without actually making fun of them is so impressive
It might come down to how they aren't jokes about veganism, but they're vegan-themed jokes
Its almost like you dont need to be an asshole to make good jokes lol
Why do I feel like this was something that Scott planned from day 1 when starting his channel? This is just to perfect to be a spontaneous idea for a special.
He's had at least the first four milestone videos planned from the start, this being the fourth.
Next should be 3d dot hero
@@dmovie95 I think so, it's definitely the most obvious choice. I can't think of another game or concept which is featured in pretty much all of Scott's videos unless I miss something.
Scott is the only person who’s able to make an actually entertaining hour-long video on a stinking blue border
next hes gonna do the l button. im calling it rn.

I can't believe it's been 3 years since this masterpiece came out! Kudos to Scott and everyone else who helped him make this!

Right up there with AVENGERS...assemble in Endgame
That is a reference to "the trial" episode
So epic
Just take a moment to realize that Scott made endgame with a low budget. Truly a masterpiece of youtube.
I mean he had 2 football stars make a important cameo
This should go down in TH-cam history
@@R8Spike *rugby stars
Check the description, a lot of people helped! It might still be low budget, but it definitely wasn’t easy 😊
Vince Young recording his part outside, despite being on a spaceship, is the icing on a perfect cake.
Maybe his spaceship's a drone or something.
The inside of his ship is outside or something.
You win the prize I didn’t even notice that
That’s just his interior decorating
He was in the greeenhouse
can I just say how amazing the intro song for this movie is?
The way it smoothly transitions between each genre, fits with the video playing AND takes you through the history of gaming at the same time?
That’s a new attention to detail
what about the outro?
I showed the movie poster to my sister and she said "He looks like a virgin" and I was like "That's the whole point".
Thats great lol.
@@roslynnerentas8939 did you not watch the video or something

It's really awesome watching Scott's friends get more and more comfortable on camera. I mean Scott himself has gotten way more comfortable on camera too, but I don't think his friends here get enough credit for becoming way more natural on screen.
Yess
It also helps that they have some “acting” experience from their school projects
@@Omelander It also helps that they're intentionally written to act awkward too
@@nikkoa.3639 Yeah, most of the time they look uncomfortable its the writing telling them to do so
Comparing them in A Madden 08 Christmas to this is insane, especially with Joe Robertson (Terry Lestler)

I like to think of AVGN as Scott the woz's father
@@Dauger1 more like pre alpha version tbh :/
@@HomeScar498 Scott's videos have an amazing production value behind them and are really funny. But I still think that he has a long way before surpassing AVGN's sheer amount of classics. Atari Sports, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Tiger Electronic Games (my personal favorite), NES Accessories, ROB, Super Mario Bros 3, Milon's Secret Castle, Crazy Castle, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Link's Adventure and the list goes on and on. That's an impressive catalog of videos, if you ask me.
The timeline is broken
For a guy that owns 50% of all the Wii U left, Scott sings surprisingly well
He's putting that Wii U microphone to good use.

Wii music did this.

If only Bee Movie had come out one gaming generation sooner...
This was a cinematic masterpiece. The jokes, the cameos from other TH-camrs, the self-references, the SONGS- every moment was perfection. And as an Ohioan, I thank you for your sacrifice. Bravo!
This is simultaneously the highest budget and lowest budget video I've seen from the gaming side of youtube, and it's fantastic.
Its just amazing
Lowest budget you say this has more budget than endgame
Flex Tape 2 - JonTron
exactly lmao
His budget was 2 cans of redbull, printer ink, greenscreen, and around 1000 bucks for cameos

Actually it's Favr-D'oh!
What do you mean? He was obviously in space.
That poor microphone
I lived through the 90's in Wisconsin, i don't need to imagine that.
Congrats on 200 episodes and thanks for letting Rocco wake up in that field!!!
I was so hyped when I saw Rocco! I was waiting all video for a Mega64 cameo lol
Let me guess, he was lying unconscious in that field way before Scott even had this idea, and filming around him was the only way to awaken him from his cursed slumber?
