The problem is that going out and catching rona is not heroic in the least. There is nothing admirable about it. It is not comparable to Snowden or any true hero. It is selfishness and stupidity as he mentioned in the beginning of his monologue.

This is my first time being critical of Dave. I know his comedy is full of risks. And While I agree with his sentiment, “ When a hero stumbles, the cowards rejoice” but Dave’s example of himself, does not apply and is actually ridiculous.. Doing comedy shows and creating a place of live gatherings during a world wide pandemic is not a hero. Staying home to stop the spread is not cowardice. It is a sacrifice . Working on the front lines is a hero. I’m not blaming Dave for doing his shows. I don’t know his reasoning, but Dave, don’t call people that are trying to do the Right thing cowards and don’t build yourself up to be some kind of enlightened hero . Remember Dave Pride comes before the Fall.

Brilliantly put? Please. He casts himself as a hero then paints any criticism of his behavior as "rejoicing" in his "stumble". I am not rejoicing one bit when I say that partying in close quarters with someone who JUST HAD COVID is irresponsible and puts other people at risk.

That’s the problem with this conservative logic. It’s money, product, money, product, money, product, and they make people feel like their lack of money, is a product of something, someone, somewhere else. The legacy of America isn’t freedom or democracy, its exploitation.
Think about it, when has America EVER done ANYTHING, without exploiting someone. Their problem, is the traditionally exploited keep fighting back, they keep winning, and they’ve very very cleverly shifted exploitation to the last group that will ever notice, conservative poor. Cause the product of America (not what America produces, but what America is “sold” as) is marketed vigorously to them.
Where are the poorest states? Where are the lowest wages? Where’s the highest teen pregnancy?
And they’re starting to know, they didn’t storm the Capitol for Trump, they stormed the Capitol cause they’re angry. The systems of exploitation have mastered directing that anger, directing it right back into their own pens.
Trump wasn’t a leader, he was a best selling product.

I like to think that perhaps a hundred years ago the media and similar platforms would use many of his anecdotal references to stoke the National conscience. Like those WW2 posters that read, “We can do it!” Or, “Uncle Sam wants you!” Those sorts of things🧐

The fact everyone in the audience didn't celebrate that statement, says ALOT about the current state of our country. Now, maybe he had a hidden meaning, considering the statement was prefaced by "Your're" but even back during 9/11. America was unified. Now? We'll gladly kill each other for our differing ideology. American has become so divided, and so based on the cult following that is politics, we can't agree on shit. Even the statement "the grass is green" would probably be just as polarizing as immigration, gun control, or even the Presidential Election.
